Therapists for college students near Portland State University
My style is warm and supportive. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches (cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, brief solution focused therapy, and family systems theory) to help clients feel heard, share their story, decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression, address traumas, and improve the quality of their lives. I emphasize strengths, and help clients set realistic and achievable goals.
I strongly believe in the human potential for growth and healing. My work focuses on accessing the inherent strength and wisdom that exists in all of us through insight and therapeutic support. My goal is to help clients feel empowered and confident to create the changes they want to make within themselves and their relationships. Whether you are processing past trauma, working through feelings of anxiety and depression, or wanting to develop healthier relationship and family dynamics, I create a safe and comfortable environment to support your healing journey.
My name is Katon. The first thing people usually ask me about when they first meet me is about my name. My name is pronounced Cat-Tahn. I am an Iranian American. I was born in the Pacific Northwest, and I grew up in Northern California. I earned my BA in Anthropology from San Diego State University and my MA in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco. When not working, I am usually spending time with my spouse and my three children. I enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, volunteering, and trying out new things and new experiences. I also love listening to music and singing. I utilize an integrative approach and combine different therapeutic tools to fit the needs of an individual client, family, or couple. I believe in meeting clients where they are comfortable and in using evidence-based practice in my work with clients. I have experience working with acculturation issues, bereavement, grief (children and adults), post partum depression, and trauma. I work with individuals of all ages and strive to provide culturally competent therapy.
At Flourish Gracefully, Inc., we offer online therapy for adults navigating the unique pressures of anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, and academic or life transitions. We specialize in holding space for biracial, bicultural, and first-generation adults navigating complex cultural expectations, as well as Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and gifted individuals who experience the world deeply. By integrating evidence-based EMDR therapy with trauma-informed, psychodynamic approaches, we help you process distressing memories, break free from old emotional patterns, and build lasting resilience. Together, we will create a safe, collaborative environment to help you heal and step into a life of peace and wholeness.
I am a bilingual therapist that speaks English and Spanish who has experience working with students of diverse backgrounds. You might be a new student or a student that is about to graduate and be the professional you always dreamed of. You might be asking yourself, now what? I will support you no matter where you are in your journey. I have experience supporting and helping first generation students, immigrant students who struggle with adjustment, transitions, depression, anxiety, and history of trauma. For some therapy is scary, and for others it is exciting and wonderful. No matter where you are in your life adventure I am here to support you and create more self awareness where you can be your authentic self.
Feeling alone, gripped in anxiety and despair and other painful emotions, you might not think that anyone could possibly understand or help. As an experienced mental health professional, I know how to listen to your unique story and how to help you disentangle from the symptoms that are holding you back. Using intuitive listening skills and coming from a place of deep empathy, I will work with you, teaching you how to integrate new thinking and being skills into your life. Using Acceptance and Integration Training and depth psychotherapy, along with my extensive experience with a wide variety of people, I will help you feel better and get back on your feet towards living the life you want. I aim to help you discover your own unique inner wisdom, building awareness and emotional health for life. I work with each client individually and collaboratively to create long-term and short-term goals. For many clients the goals often include disentangling from anxiety and depression symptoms. This includes building new skills and habits that can be used on a daily basis to feel good and to prevent the symptoms from reoccurring. My clients report feeling peaceful, powerful, whole, hopeful and grounded after a session of Acceptance and Integration techniques.
You look like you have it together but inside you are exhausted, overwhelmed, or just quietly struggling in ways nobody around you seems to notice. The students I work with have often been carrying something heavy for a long time: anxiety that won't quit, a past they can't stop thinking about, or a pattern of burning out no matter how hard they try to keep up. Some are high achievers who look completely fine on the outside while feeling overwhelmed or empty on the inside. Others are navigating something that happened earlier in life that is finally surfacing now that they have space to breathe. Many of my clients have tried talking about their problems before and felt like it helped in the moment but didn't really change anything. That's because some of what we carry doesn't live in our thoughts. It lives in the nervous system, in the body, in patterns wired into the brain long before we had words for them. I use approaches, such as EMDR and IFS, that work directly with the brain and body, not just the thinking mind, which is why clients often notice real shifts after feeling stuck for years. You don't need to have it figured out before we talk. You just need to be curious about why you keep feeling the way you do, and open to the idea that something can actually shift. If you're dealing with anxiety, burnout, trauma, depression, difficult relationships, or a general sense that something is off and you can't quite name it, you are probably in the right place.

I enjoy providing trauma-informed, strength based therapy to people of any nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion and race. The best way to reach me is via e-mail. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing from psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, and mindfulness. I have particular experience working with grief, identity exploration, chronic illness, spirituality, LGBTQ health, and women’s health. I also work with clients who feel disconnected from their purpose or who are navigating major shifts in their sense of self. Our work will begin with your story, and from there, we will collaboratively create a plan to address your goals. My aim is to help clients access their own wisdom, find relief from emotional distress, deepen self-awareness, and experience greater self-compassion. In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I have worked as an interfaith hospital chaplain, supporting patients, families, and staff during moments of intense vulnerability and uncertainty. This experience informs my work, allowing me to hold space for life’s deepest questions and existential concerns. My approach to spirituality is non-prescriptive, honoring each person’s unique beliefs, values, and ways of making meaning.
Are you struggling with painful memories from your past? Are you feeling intense anger over minor issues? Do you often feel on edge, as if something bad is about to happen? Are you having trouble sleeping at night? Or do you try to concentrate on a task but end up procrastinating or daydreaming instead? Have negative thoughts always seemed to be a part of your life? At RenewU Counseling and Consultation Services, we are here to help you rediscover a path to well-being. I offer compassionate trauma therapy online and in-person in Vernon, TX, and online in OR.
I founded Keshet Counseling to support individuals who often feel overlooked or misunderstood in traditional therapy spaces. My work is especially meaningful to those navigating the complexities of chronic illness, such as Lyme Disease, Mold Toxicity, MCAS, and other invisible disabilities, as well as those facing antisemitism or discrimination for not aligning with political or institutional expectations. I also work closely with teens and adults dealing with antisemitism, narcissistic abuse, multicultural identity issues, codependency, love addiction, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. My approach is rooted in body centered somatic psychology using mindfulness. We’ll explore unconscious beliefs and patterns shaping your experience by noticing whats happening for you in this moment. I hold a humanistic view of healing: I believe you are already whole, worthy, and deeply capable of transformation. My role is to help reconnect you to your own inner knowing, and I view our relationship as a collaborative space where your voice and wisdom lead the way. I don’t believe there’s something wrong with you, rather, what happened to you.
My passion is to assist people who desire to get unstuck, be more confident, feel more relaxed, connect with others, feel less irritable, communicate better, understand their dreams and are looking for meaning and purpose in their lives. We might be a good fit if you are someone who has difficulty with boundaries and assertiveness or think of yourself as a "people pleaser." Another good fit would be if you feel that you are lacking direction in your life or feel like "something is missing" but aren't sure what it is or how to find it.
I'm a queer white therapist who has been working with teens and young adults for over 10 years. The physical, social, and emotional transition into adulthood can be awesome, but is cal also jarring and overwhelming - I'd like to help make it easier. I have a lot of experience helping deal with issues related to stress, perfectionism, sex and sexuality, identity, and relationships. I also can help support and heal trauma symptoms. I also specialize in anti-racism and anti-oppressive activism. If you're curious about that work I'm at www.ar-tic.org. You can also learn more about my thought process and creativity via www.shealowery.com. I hope to hear from you soon!
Hi there, I'm Ilana, and I look forward to working with you! I offer in-office, telehealth, or equine-assisted mental health sessions for adults in central Oregon, and particularly enjoy working with young adults who might be navigating the transition into college, anxiety, grief and loss, or relationship challenges. Please feel free to reach out and we can see if this might be a good fit!
I love working with college students. I worked exclusively with students for 14 years and have been a therapist for 19 years. I really struggled in college myself and enjoy helping students thru this challenging time. Anxiety, motivation, time and stress management are all tough during college as well as how that constant stress effects your relationships and self care and self compassion. Helping out with career and academic direction can be part of our work too. This is also a time that gender identity and sexuality and body image issues can arise. I can help support all sorts of folks (including with neurodiversity and individuals with ADHD and chronic health issues) to stay healthy and regulated during high stress.

College can feel like a lot — like you’re trying to stay afloat in a fast-moving current. Some days you’re cruising; other days it’s all you can do to keep your head above water. Maybe you’re here because you’re tired of just getting by. Maybe you’re looking for a space to slow down, catch your breath, and figure out what’s next. I believe in meeting people exactly where they are - in the messy, real, complicated parts of being human. My approach is flexible and grounded in empathy, drawing from attachment work, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parts work, and EMDR. All aimed at helping you feel more connected to yourself and others.
I am here to remind you that you are already whole. My intention is to walk with you on your healing path and co-create a sacred space where we can tend to your body, mind, and spirit. My approach is heart-centered, non-pathologizing, and grounded in a humanistic lens. I value what evidence-based practices offer us, and hold reverence for the wisdom traditions, somatic knowing, and transpersonal experiences that live outside those frameworks. I also recognize that Western psychology is rooted in colonialism, and I am committed to an approach that honors lineages of healing that the dominant system has excluded. I weave in mindfulness, somatics, parts work, expressive arts, and nature therapy. I am certified in Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR, and have extensive experience supporting those healing from religious and spiritual trauma. I especially enjoy working with the queer community and Highly Sensitive People (HSP), both of which are part of the path I walk. As a solo practice, I do not have a team to provide 24/7 crisis support. Because of this, my practice is a good fit for those who feel steady enough to manage their safety between our weekly sessions. I offer in-person sessions in South Eugene Mon/Tue/Wed and online sessions Thursdays. When you reach out, please let me know your insurance(s) and schedule preferences.
I work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing a range of challenges that include relationship distress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, financial conflict, and/or coping with the disease of addiction in a significant relationship or family system. We all come from diverse backgrounds and experiences that impact how we see and move through the world. I am interested in understanding the context of your life in our work together. Life offers challenges to all of us. These challenges can be in relationships, life transitions, or in circumstances that feel thrust upon us. I am confident you have within you what it takes to face and move through hard times in your life. I will help you develop new skills to be successful in accepting all of what life has to offer.
