I specializes in helping people who are having difficulty controlling their gambling. Behaviors such as staying up all night gambling, not attending classes or going to work, isolating, gambling until all your money is gone, lying or stealing to get money with which to gamble, chasing your losses, physically hurting yourself, and thoughts of suicide are common among people who have a gambling problem. Recognizing that you have a problem is the first step and asking for help is the second. Please contact me to take the most important step--doing something to stop the pain caused by problem gambling.

I believe we have a natural tendency toward growth, striving to feel more fully ourselves. Sometimes that vitality gets disrupted, leaving you feeling depressed (as though nothing will change) or anxious (afraid things will only get worse). You may sense life could be different, but feel stuck without a clear path to follow. Psychotherapy can help you understand how and why these struggles developed and discover a new path toward feeling better. With over 25 years experience and advanced training, I provide a warm and confidential space where you can explore challenges, gain new perspectives, and take steps toward deeper satisfaction and emotional security.
I have been specializing in ADHD, anxiety disorders and depression for over 12 years in the Ithaca community. I diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders. I have recently opened a practice in The Cortland area. I work with ages 18-65.
If you've ever felt caught between worlds, or like your path hasn't quite followed the expected script, I get it — I've lived that too. I work with individuals of all ages who struggle with self-criticism, people-pleasing, and difficulty asserting their needs in relationships or life decisions. Working primarily from a psychodynamic approach, I help clients explore the deeper patterns and early experiences that shape their present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll investigate unexamined beliefs and influences that may be holding you back from living a life more fully like your own.
My goal as a therapist is to work with my clients to help them use their natural strengths and abilities to move past their challenges. I believe that most people already possess the natural abilities and talents to move past mental health or sleep challenges, but might need some coaching or occasional suggestions in order to do so. I utilize therapeutic methods that have been rigorously researched and studied. I have extensive experience working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, insomnia, and trauma.
Hello! I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with young adults, LGBTQ+ people (especially trans and non-binary), trauma, and emotional instability. My clients often come from backgrounds where they feel misunderstood and invalidated. They sometimes feel frustrated with their important relationships, or like they're stuck on an emotional roller coaster, or like they have trouble relaxing and feeling safe. In therapy, I create an accepting, non-judgmental environment where my clients can feel truly seen. From there, I help clients understand themselves, what they want to change in their lives, and how to reach their goals. I completed my training at college counseling centers and a hospital program serving college students. I know the challenges college students face, and I love helping students overcome those challenges. If you think we might be a good fit for therapy, please reach out! I offer free 15 minute consultation calls for anyone interested. I am currently offering therapy in person in Berkeley, CA on Saturdays and over Zoom Tuesday-Saturday in California, New York, and Virginia.
As an existential therapist, I consider clients as fellow humans navigating through the hardships of life. I believe therapy serves as a lighthouse, supporting people on the path towards self-discovery, joy, and a fulfilling life.

Hey there, I’m Naomi! As a biracial Asian American psychotherapist, I take a holistic and culturally sensitive approach rooted in empathy and respect, blending elements from various therapeutic modalities to tailor a unique and supportive experience, just for you. Are you navigating heavy emotions? Struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, or ASD? Perhaps you're exploring your identity and its links to intergenerational, cultural, or queer-related trauma? I specialize in LGBTQIA+ adults and adolescents with attention to all intersecting identities and lived experience connected to race, ethnicity, religious background, immigration status, ability, socioeconomic status, and trauma history. Particularly in these upending times, I seek to provide a reliable healing space by helping clients find genuine, compassionate connection with oneself and others. Some of the ways I work with clients is to become aware of connections between current challenges and past experience, explore identities freely with attention to each person's unique circumstances, identify needs around interpersonal connection and boundaries, understand the impact of systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma, and foster hope for the future. I take my work very seriously, but also naturally use humor as a way to explore and connect. Therapy needs to be a safe space to be messy and broken, but can also be used for playful curiosity and creativity.

I've worked extensively with university and graduate students for over eight years, including completing my postdoctoral training at Cornell Health, and I'm deeply familiar with the academic, personal, and relational pressures that often accompany campus life. My approach is grounded in the psychodynamic tradition and trauma theory, with a focus on how early relationships and implicit emotional learning shape present experience. It is experiential in nature, emphasizing attention to emotional and bodily experience in the present moment. I draw from IFS, AEDP, Coherence Therapy, and Hakomi to help clients move beyond insight toward lasting emotional change.
