Have you experienced trauma that's left you feeling stuck, anxious, or depressed? Are you frustrated by finding yourself repeating the same patterns of behavior, even when those behaviors are no longer serving you? I create space for you to explore and learn new ways to cope with feelings of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and past traumas. I offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to explore the issues coming up and learn new skills. We can work together to help you to better deal with the struggles you're facing, heal past wounds, and successfully shift the unfulfilling patterns and symptoms in your life. I draw heavily from cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and psychodynamic techniques, with an emphasis on both practical tools as well as attention to deeper emotions. I also intertwine elements of other modalities including mindfulness & meditation techniques. I also am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). No matter the concern, I use an individualized approach to help you in the unique way you need. I’d love to discuss how I can be of service and I offer free 30 minute phone consults so that you can explore what working together might look like and see if it feels like a good fit.

Life is so often filled with stressors, unexpected obstacles, and struggles. We believe that everyone has the power to make great things happen and to grow, heal, and thrive. We are dedicated to providing a caring, nonjudgmental space where you can feel open to sharing vulnerabilities and telling your unique stories. Our therapists seek to help you recognize and build upon your strengths and resiliency to make the changes that matter most to you, to heal from past hurts, and to create greater happiness and fulfillment. We know that change often feels deeply overwhelming and scary, so having someone truly and consistently there for you can make the world of a difference. We meet every client– individuals, couples, and families– where they are, with genuine respect and compassion. Everyone can benefit from support and guidance, and for us, therapy is most effective when grounded in understanding, authenticity, and collaboration that enhance motivation. Our clients come to us with a wide variety of challenges and struggles, past and present. Issues in one area of life inherently and inevitably trickle into others. Together we will seek to more deeply understand the problem and its roots so that feeling of being stuck dissipates and you feel empowered and inspired. We work from a strengths-based, humanistic, holistic lens and incorporate different approaches to support your unique needs and aspirations. Our therapists incorporate individualized treatment approaches including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, relational, as well as trauma-focused, strengths, and attachment-based therapies. We specialize in several different areas including: Anxiety + Stress, Depression, Trauma, Dating + Relationships, Interpersonal Conflict, Self-Esteem, Life Transitions, Body Image, Grief + Loss, Maternal Mental Health, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), Children + Adolescents, Couples Therapy, and Family Therapy. Hi! My name is Katie (she/her), and I’m excited to work together. My goal is to help you feel safe, comfortable, and free to open up at your own pace. I believe our experiences—past and present—shape the way we think, feel, and move through life. By exploring and validating your thoughts and emotions, we can start to untangle patterns, make sense of what feels overwhelming, and work toward healing. I’m here to support you whether you’re navigating depression, anxiety, grief, body dysmorphia, sexual and gender identity issues, relationship/work stress, and/or chronic illness. Finding the right words to express what you’re feeling isn’t always easy, and that’s okay. Sessions are tailored to what feels right for you. We’ll draw from psychodynamic, somatic, creative arts, and other trauma-informed approaches. Empathy, warmth, and humor are central to my practice, creating a space where you can explore and grow. Currently, I’m an MSW student at Yeshiva University in New York City and hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. I look forward to meeting you! -- Katie Colton is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists-in-training accruing clinical hours.

Life is wonderful and really hard at the same time. Sometimes, our struggles take over and interfere with our ability to appreciate the things we love and care about. When this happens, it can turn into developing unhealthy ways of coping and a cycle of suffering. My goal is to help you learn how to reduce suffering and to develop healthier ways of coping. My approach is behavioral; we will work together towards specific goals in a proactive manner. Clients describe me as gentle, humorous, understanding, and change-oriented. I have extensive experience treating eating disorders and anxiety disorders. I practice using an evidence-based treatment model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model, which utilizes mindfulness, cognitive interventions, exposure techniques, and movement towards goals and values. I can also help you if you are struggling with life transitions, relationship problems, or a sense of feeling stuck in your life. I firmly believe that most people would benefit from therapy.

Suffering from anxiety can be like falling into quicksand, the more you fight it, the deeper you sink. Do you feel lost in your struggle with anxiety or find it difficult articulate how you are feeling? Perhaps you tend to take care of others but can’t figure out how to take care of yourself? I believe you have the power within to change your life story and psychotherapy is the tool to help you lift yourself up. Imagine being the author and the main character in your life story, with the ability to create change and move towards a more meaningful life. Narrative therapists like me use stories as a vehicle for healing, as the way we all experience life is largely defined by our own internal narrative. Sometimes, other people or negative events can write chapters in our life’s story. My goal is, through open and trusting dialogue, to help you reauthor your story, take control of your narrative, and heal. I know personally how vulnerable it can be to look for help. That’s why I bring optimism, hope, perseverance, and compassion to my clinical work and will walk alongside you in your journey to greater insight, self-awareness, and growth. I am currently accepting new clients, so when you are ready, reach out and see if we would be a good fit to work together!

I bring warmth, understanding, and real-life perspective into the therapy space. For over four years, I have worked with young women navigating anxiety, relationship stress, family dynamics, life transitions, and the lasting impact of past experiences. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which means we gently explore the patterns and emotions shaping your present so you can better understand yourself and create meaningful change. I strive to create a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out, where you can show up exactly as you are. Together we’ll make sense of what feels overwhelming, build practical tools for coping, and strengthen your sense of self. I see therapy as a collaborative process, and I’ll meet you with honesty, compassion, and a little humor along the way You deserve to feel confident in your choices, secure in your relationships, and kinder toward yourself. My goal is to help you feel truly seen, heard, and supported as you move toward the life you want

Past experiences may be affecting how you see yourself, relate to others, or move through the world. Healing is possible. Many come to therapy feeling weighed down by trauma, difficult relationships, low self-esteem, or unresolved childhood experiences. You may be functioning on the outside while feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of yourself on the inside. Many of the adults I work with struggle with trusting themselves or others, setting boundaries, or feeling worthy of care and connection. Therapy can help you build insight, strengthen your sense of self, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with people seeking deeper understanding, healing, and meaningful change. My approach is warm, exploratory, and open, with an emphasis on creating a space where you feel safe enough to be honest and work at your own pace. My style is collaborative and nonjudgmental, grounded in respect. Beginning therapy takes courage. If you’re ready to explore your experiences in a supportive and compassionate environment, I invite you to reach out.

Art Therapist
Bayport, NY

I am a New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, New Mexico State Licensed Professional Art Therapist, and Nationally Board Certified Art Therapist, who offers talk therapy and art psychotherapy for adults seeking insight, personal growth and change--particularly after major life transition, grief, loss or trauma. These experiences may pertain to starting school, academic stressors, medical illness, injury, disability, relationships, loss of loved ones, job loss or instability, relocation, and certainly much more. In our sessions together we can explore issues that come up around the extreme shifts in how you know how to be in the world, your self expectations and sense of identity, feelings of confusion, and accompanying feelings of distress. We will gently address your stressors and any feelings of misunderstanding, alienation or isolation in order to ultimately foster integration, personal advocacy, individuation, and renewed inspiration for your next path forward. I will encourage you to access creative imagination through a holistic, psychodynamic, relational, transpersonal, social action, and anti-oppressive lens. This means that we will engage in deep processing discussion--alongside art, creative expression, guided visualization, mindfulness and some somatic therapy, including the option of Reiki--to help us learn more about your needs, barriers, and goals in the present and how to pivot with insight from the past. We will particularly look at the intersection of your individual mindset, conscious awareness, unconscious impulses, and psyche with the events and lived experiences you have been met with in the groups you have belonged to and the communities around you. We will also consider how each of us impacts those individuals and communities around us, and acknowledge how as we make positive change, those reverberations can aid our community in greater compassion, growth, and improvement for many others in big and small ways. You deserve to recognize, explore, nurture, and be reminded of your natural strength, resiliency, and capacity for insight, growth, and joy! While therapy may challenge you to make sense in new ways of past and current conflict, crisis, or loss, our work together will seek access to a state of calm within, and the wisdom which may be created from each and any situation: all with motivation, inspiration, acceptance, choice, and hope. Together--let's make change, and find comfort during change.

Is your relationship with food affecting your friendships, dating life, or academics? Do you skip campus events or meals with friends because you're anxious about eating in front of others? Many people who struggle with food experience negative thoughts about themselves, poor body image, or develop eating disorders. If you're ready to take back control of your life, now may be the time to reach out for support. Together, we’ll explore your relationship with food, build strategies to help you regain a sense of control, and address the underlying intrusive thoughts getting in the way. Together, we’ll examine how your values align with your behaviors, practice body acceptance, and develop coping skills to help you manage eating disorder urges. While I specialize in eating disorders, I also support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Please feel free to reach out to discuss your needs and how I can support you.

TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. Learn more about us by visiting our website https://tribecatherapy.com or emailing us at inquiries@tribecatherapy.com to schedule a consultation call.
