Caim Counseling
Over the last 13 years of being a therapist I’ve had the privilege to meet and treat so many people, each of whom was on their own journey to better mental health and now my own career journey has led me here. I started Caim Counseling as a place for people to address their mental health so that they can be empowered to heal. I believe strongly in meeting people where they’re at and tailoring mental health care treatment to what each individual needs. I have an eclectic approach which leans towards Person-Centered therapy and have done additional work in areas like women’s issues, eating disorders, anxiety, grief, and LGBTQIA+ specific concerns. I believe strongly in the equality of all people and am committed to having an inclusive practice. I can’t wait to meet you and see how we can work together to get you to a place of better mental health.

Hello and welcome! I certainly understand the overwhelm that can happen when reading through profiles. Please, don't hesitate to request a consultation meeting over phone or video. I'm happy to answer any questions to assist you in discovering if we may be a good fit in working together. Over the past 11 years, I have worked closely with adolescents, adults, and families while facing many of life's challenges as well as struggles with mental health. Folks often work with me through difficult life transitions, family or relationship issues, personal insecurities, and body image concerns. I have spent a significant time enhancing my education and experience supporting people with recovery from trauma in all its forms, stress, anxiety, and emotional distress. Additionally, I compassionately support people navigating troublesome experiences with substance misuse. My clients and I often focus on developing a trusting relationship that emphasizes open, honest communication within a non-judgmental, laid back environment. Together we identify the areas of growth and healing that best suit their unique needs and work collaboratively to recognize personal strengths, build skills and knowledge, and foster a strong support network. My approach to therapy is relaxed and casual, while promoting a flexible and adaptive experience that aligns with each individual. All of my services are through video sessions. I am currently based in Pennsylvania, However, I am licensed to work with people in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina, as I was living in Western NC for 12 years prior to moving back to my home state of PA. I am in network with insurance providers in both PA and NC. Additionally, I offer sliding scale discount options through the Open Path Collective. Amy Montgomery
Welcome to the Awareness and Wellness Center (AWC)! My name is Amy Mintgomery and I am a professional counselor in Pennsylvania providing in-person and online counseling. I have been providing therapy services for adults struggling with a range of issues including substance use disorders, problems with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, grief/loss, as well as anger/stress management problems and more. I have gained this experience working in a variety of therapeutic settings including long-term residential, inpatient and outpatient agencies. For 18 years I worked in the Student Life division of a local university. I worked primarily with student organizations in organizational development. I helped the young adult population of the university develop self-efficacy and to better manage stress. More recently I worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings for substance use and co-occurring disorders. In therapy, I use a person-centered approached utilizing cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused technique. My approach is to provide a soothing space and offer the environment you need to talk through life’s challenges. “Life on life’s terms” can be complicated and everyone needs a place to process difficulties. My hope is to be part of your “We” so that you have the professional support needed to begin to work through challenges and find solutions to better manage stress and the emotions connected to that stress.

I am pleased that you are here. I know it is not easy to take this first step, but I want you to know first and foremost, that I take great care and pride in creating a safe place for my clients to talk about their internal conflicts, interpersonal problems, traumas, and whatever is interfering with living a fuller, richer life. I bring to my clinical practice a great deal of skills coupled with passion to engage in a meaningful therapeutic relationship. I invite clients to increase their self-awareness while aspiring to high levels of wellness: biologically, psychologically, relationally, sexually and spiritually. I offer a safe space free of judgment, filled with compassion and kindness towards your own process. My theoretical orientation to counseling is rooted in humanistic theories with underlying existentialism and phenomenological philosophies. I firmly believe in the therapeutic alliance and its curative power, in addition to striving to look at all situations from a sex positive, non-shaming, and non-judgmental lens.

As a therapist, I will always meet my clients where they are at the moment. My approach to therapy is holistic. I believe that therapy is client-led and my job is to walk with you side-by-side in your journey toward healing and growth. During sessions, I will lead with sensitivity, curiosity, and support. Our initial process will involve getting to know each other and developing a strong foundation of trust and safety. My ideal client is someone who is open to creating a partnership and ready to take on their counseling journey. This individual is ready to dive into some deep work and willing to be honest and is open to trusting a direct therapist to help them navigate life. This individual might not be aware of their issues at this time, but they are open to exploring them and creating goals to become a healthier version of themselves.
Melissa Nauman Counseling & Psychotherapy
People make the decision to engage in therapy for a multitude of reasons, all of which are valid. Some people may be ambivalent about making changes in their lives, while others might feel eager and ready to start the process. Regardless of where you find yourself on that continuum, I am here to support you. Although my background has mainly been focused around eating and body image, I see clients who are experiencing a variety of concerns: relationship issues, anxiety/depression, life transitions, unhappiness, etc. Prior to private practice, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Service, with a specialty in supporting student-athletes and individuals with eating and body image concerns. I have also worked in psychiatric inpatient programs as well as eating disorder treatment programs. My therapeutic style is integrative, which means that our work together will draw on various approaches determined by your concerns and goals. My hope is for us to build a trusting relationship that will allow for honest reflection, helpful challenge, and ultimately positive change so that you may be able to lead a more fulfilling life.

As a licensed psychologist, I can help you cope with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma. I also specialize in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, whether in exploring one’s identity, navigating coming out, considering or actively transitioning, relationship and sexual concerns, coping with queerphobia, or looking for connections. I do my best to be genuine, respectful, and honest with my clients so together, we can create a collaborative relationship that allows for vulnerability. I approach therapy from a relational-existential perspective, also drawing on feminist psychology and trauma-informed practice. In therapy with me, I will help you understand your relationship patterns and empower you to make autonomous, well thought-out decisions in your life, as well as get relief from your symptoms and generally cope better. Coming from a somatic and trauma-informed background means I deeply appreciate the ways our bodies carry the potential for healing within psychotherapy. As a queer transgender person, I am thankful to be able to give back to my community as an “out” therapist. I believe it is also important to take care of my own well-being, since I’m a person too! I do so by spending time with loved ones, exploring natural spaces, reading, baking, and gardening.

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to know exactly where to begin. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and accepted for who you are. I take a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to therapy, meeting you where you are and honoring your unique experiences, strengths, and needs. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I see therapy as a collaborative process where we can work together to better understand what you’re experiencing and find what feels right for you. As a board-certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), I also have the ability to bring creativity into our work when you’re interested. Art therapy doesn’t require you to be “artistic”—creative expression can simply offer another way to explore feelings and experiences when words don’t always come easily. I have experience working with teens, young adults, and adults in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, substance use treatment, and crisis services. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, nonjudgmental approach and taught me the importance of seeing the whole person behind what they are going through. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult transition, healing from past experiences, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I’d be honored to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you move toward where you want to be. I am available for in person sessions, as well as telehealth/virtual sessions. The fastest way to get in touch with me is via text or email!

On our journey it can be helpful to have someone to help us see the narratives that often define our lives. Some of those narratives keep us from experiencing what we want for ourselves now and in the future. Since graduating with a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2010, I have been working as a therapist with people in various stages of life. A relationship between a therapist and client can provide someone with a deep reflection of how they live and are experienced. I believe therapy can give us the opportunity to rediscover our story in a new way. Real change is possible and the therapeutic relationship is one of the ways to cultivate that change. Areas of experience and interests: ADHD, adults, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family of origin concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, mother abandonment, parenting, sexuality, sexual and physical trauma, trauma recovery Fee: I offer a sliding scale fee Insurances Accepted: United Healthcare, UPMC, Cigna, Highmark Therapeutic Style: Relational Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Family Systems Contact Autumn directly at 412-606-1887 or autumnkrusebrownlee@gmail.com

I have expertise in working with members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, untangling impacts of trauma, and neurodivergent young adults, though many clients of diverse backgrounds and experiences tend to respond well to my authenticity and warmth. Clients seeking my support might be struggling with perfectionism, anxiety, burn out, boundary-setting, self-doubt, and identity. Common goals might include reducing anxiety, applying their awareness of self to healing, and approaching life and relationships with wellness and empowerment. My goal is to act as a partner in navigating the waves of life. I'm super excited to learn more about you! Building on sensory awareness, mindfulness, trauma work, and creativity, we'll dig for the root of your distress. Tools such as thought challenging, processing trauma, reducing nervous system burnout, and empowerment to lean into your long-term goals may be cornerstones of our work together. I cultivate an environment of authenticity, warmth, and creativity. Working with pre-teens to adults, I recognize that we have all experienced adversity to some degree in our lives and each degree is equally valid. While growth is often a layered and open-ended journey, your counseling relationship and an understanding of relational dynamics will be cornerstones for your adventure. Give us a call to discuss how we can help!

My experiences stem from working with children of all ages within a variety of educational and therapeutic settings that ultimately led towards my work with at-risk children as a Family Based Therapist. Working hands on with families in their homes within authentic and relational setting(s) (i.e., home and community) had shaped my learning experiences and identified my growth as a person and a therapist. My work prepared me to differentiate my therapeutic approaches and enable connections that no traditional clinical experience could offer. Fast forward, working as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have the privilege to work with a variety of populations, with clients ranging from mild to severe mental health conditions. I offer a warm safe setting that enables a professional therapeutic collaboration and growth towards client centered therapeutic goals. I continue to rely upon evidenced based interventions to help guide our therapeutic relationship towards progress or help uncover potential barriers to that may impede your therapeutic progress.
