As a licensed mental health counselor with more than seven years of experience, my work centers on supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship challenges, adjustment disorders, trauma, and personality disorders. Warmth, integrity, and cultural competence guide everything I do. In our work together, I create space to explore vulnerability, deepen personal understanding, and move toward meaningful change. Discovering your thoughts and feelings in therapy deepens your insight into how you move through the world and who you truly are. Beginning therapy is a significant commitment, and I don't take that lightly. The strength of the patient-therapist relationship is, in my view, the most important factor in your ability to heal and grow. That's why I strive to build authentic rapport that fosters genuine curiosity, safety to make mistakes, shared humanity and humor, and direct but empathic honesty. Creating this environment that feels supportive and non-judgmental is always my first priority. There is never a challenge too small or too large to address in therapy, and I believe it can be a profound healing experience when you have a trusted therapist you can rely on. There is real value in reflecting on your past experiences to understand how your foundation has shaped you. Our early relational experiences significantly impact attachment styles, and in the present, we often seek out situations that feel familiar even when they no longer serve us. Through this process of exploration, we work together to transform unconscious habits into conscious choices. Central to that work is how you view yourself. Building an empathetic inner world, where self-compassion rewires how your brain responds to stress, is an essential part of the therapeutic process. That clearer view of yourself improves the quality of your choices, ensures your decisions align with your core values, and helps you recognize and overcome fears, dismantle implicit cycles, manage insecurity, and strengthen your communication. This kind of self-awareness becomes especially important during life's transitional moments, when developing healthy cognitions and habits provides a framework for emotional stability and long-term resilience. Together, we can identify maladaptive thought patterns, explore cognitive reframing, and practice reduced reactivity to manage stress and build emotional regulation over time. Throughout all of it, you remain the true expert on yourself. The goal is always a collaborative partnership, one where the safety of a strong therapeutic alliance gives you the freedom to grow toward your most personal goals. My role as a helper and listener began as the oldest sister in my family and grew through many meaningful professional experiences. Before becoming a therapist, I offered career counseling to adults with disabilities, helping them develop self-advocacy skills, build independence, and practice radical acceptance. I also supported college students as they navigated the unique pressures of campus life and the challenges of emerging adulthood, exploring together questions of identity, relationships, and purpose. These experiences deepened my commitment to becoming a therapist. Over the years, I've developed a clinical identity grounded in continuous learning. Every session offers fresh perspective and a deeper understanding of the human experience. My approach is tailored to each person's unique needs, and I am committed to evolving alongside my patients by incorporating creative modalities and evidence-based treatments. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, watching movies, being creative, and exploring new museums and restaurants around the city.

As a psychodynamic clinician and LMSW, I specialize in trauma/C-PTSD for adults, helping them release stuck energy within the nervous system. Autonomy is the foundation of my practice, and this belief supports your ability to reach your own goals. I look forward to supporting your capacity for regulation and growth in our work together. I’m passionate about empowering your move from surviving to thriving in life through a gentle and non-judgmental approach customized to your unique set of needs. Working together, you can expect a warm and contained environment that incorporates Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Deep Brain Reorienting, and Brainspotting to support you in differentiating between past and present and working through traumatic experiences. My path to becoming a therapist began with my time at Boston Area RCC, an experience that deepened my interest in working with survivors of sexual assault and in learning how to foster patients' innate capacity for growth. I bring that same interest in the nervous system, and in the over-coupling and under-coupling patterns that can keep a patient stuck, into each session. When I’m not in session, I enjoy spending time with dogs and friends.

As a licensed mental health counselor dedicated to transforming patients’ lives, I work primarily with emerging adults (20- and 30-somethings) who are navigating life transitions, relational challenges, and low self-esteem, as well as symptoms of anxiety, and depression. This life stage comes with many unique challenges and transitions, so my mission is to assist you in identifying your patterns and strengths, while introducing strategies to help you move closer to your goals. In taking this relational approach, I also aid in setting boundaries and building secure attachment to allow for more meaningful relationships. In every session, I balance open-ended exploration of concerns with the introduction of tangible tools and skills to manage symptoms and reduce distress. Therapy is a collaboration, and I strive to meaningfully support you in ways that are tailored to your individual needs. I understand that starting therapy can be intimidating, which is why I offer a warm and compassionate space so you can bring your full self into sessions. My holistic, person-centered approach to care draws from various therapeutic modalities while remaining compassionate and recognizing the structural barriers to mental health. These modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), couples and group therapy, and attachment-oriented methods. A deep curiosity and care for people started me along the path to therapy. Working in a university career counseling center and volunteering with various social justice organizations fueled my desire to walk alongside people as they work toward their goals, while incorporating my passion for equity and justice. Mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum, so I bring the awareness that numerous internal and external factors contribute. Outside the office, I love visiting museums and galleries, reading, cross-stitching, and listening to comedy podcasts. I also enjoy spending time outdoors and foraging – there are a shocking amount of edible plants, even in NYC!

We are trying to reintegrate in our own way, and it is not easy. Taking good care of our emotional well being is a priority in my eyes. Are you motivated to change and grow? If you need the best person to help you reach your goals? I practice what I preach. “See me”and “hear me”. “Make it safe”. Often this is the beginning of what is missing in relationships. It's hard to ask for help. Being in a relationship is tricky. I appreciate people who are brave to say: "I need help with my life.", "I want to change my life.", & "I am unhappy.". I can help transform your hopes into action. You CAN change your life....if you have the will and desire to do so.

Therapy is a place to talk to someone outside of your every day life. It's a place to gain insight into what is going on within yourself, and to learn more about your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. You may begin therapy due to a serious life event, or simply to improve your mood, your lifestyle, or your relationships. I will ask questions and offer feedback to help you look at your problems differently, to make more sense of what's going on in your life, and to unravel difficult issues. We will work together as you decide what changes you may want to begin to make. In addition to working with individuals, I also work with couples. Some couples are early in their relationships and want to make sure they are on the right track. Others have been together longer and want less distressing and hurtful interactions, and instead want positive ways of communicating and connecting with each other. As we work in couples therapy, you will better understand what each person is contributing to the relationship, and you will both learn new skills so that you can better manage your differences, resolve conflicts, and build a stronger and more satisfying relationship. I also offer a 3 hour, premarital/early relationship course. Couples may choose to do this to assess their relationship strengths, and to get learn areas of their relationship that can use some focused work. This course is very helpful to help couples to prevent and change negative patterns from developing, and to learn some very important relationship building skills.

You may be overwhelmed by life’s pressures and need help figuring out what’s really going on. Or you may feel stuck in unhealthy patterns, addictions, interpersonal conflicts, or cycles of anger and frustration, and not know how to change. You may be depressed, carrying psychic anguish and low motivation, or unable to move on from past trauma. Or you may feel moments of intense shame, rejection sensitivity, or self-consciousness, and want to finally talk about it and try to heal and move on. If you want to get to the bottom of your emotional distress, interpersonal difficulties, or sense of stuckness, I would love to work with you. Many people come to me after feeling frustrated with therapy that stayed too surface-level, or where the therapist mostly listened without helping them understand their inner world. If you’re looking for therapy that goes deeper and offers reflection, feedback, and guidance, I invite you to reach out and schedule an initial consultation or first session. I approach each therapy as unique and individual, so that I can tailor my approach to you. I work with young adults and and teens navigating anxiety, shame, depression, identity questions, relationship conflict, compulsive/addictive behaviors, emotional numbness, and stuckness. I reply to all messages within one business day, and invite all inquiries.

Starting therapy can be a challenging process. I aim to create a therapeutic space where you can approach whatever barriers you may be facing with curiosity and safety in knowing you will not be judged. I specialize in therapy with young/emerging adults and college students experiencing a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, OCD, emotion regulation problems, academic/work stress, relationship challenges, and identity concerns. I have additional expertise in working with family members of individuals with serious mental illness, as well as people who identify as LGBTQIA+. My approach is integrative, primarily grounded in cognitive behavioral theory and supplemented with psychodynamic and relational techniques. I have received training in a variety of evidence-based approaches including DBT, ERP/ExRP, and CBT for psychosis. Our work together will be collaborative, flexible, and goal-oriented. While it can be hard to take the leap, starting therapy can help put you on the path to the life you want to be living. If you think I may be a good fit for the work you are ready to start, please contact me to schedule a free consultation.
