Anthony Pick
My main focus is to provide a safe space for you to openly express yourself without feeling judged. A central aim of therapy is to help you to feel more positive and capable in your own life, and to experience more joy through connection to yourself and to others. This is the foundation of my process, and it leads to more autonomy in solving one's own problems and facing challenges. I am a therapist at Octave, a behavioral health practice creating a new standard for mental health care that’s both high-quality and accessible. Learning how to navigate life as a young adult is hard! You are trying to balance the demands of work or school, family, and friends, all while while figuring out who you are and who you want to be. As a driven and successful individual, you may put a lot of pressure on yourself and feel constrained by your own expectations. This can lead to constant self-doubt and feeling like you’re always reaching for an unattainable (or unrealistic) goal. You may be overextending yourself to others, and not focusing on yourself. Perhaps you have negative thought patterns or behaviors that are causing discomfort or you don’t always understand your reactions. Let’s work together to discover the barriers that are keeping you from finding balance in your life - taking care of yourself and setting boundaries is not selfish! I provide virtual therapy to clients located in New York, Florida, and internationally.

When working with clients, I embrace a Strengths-Based lens and utilize various treatment methods from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction. I also like to incorporate mindfulness, stress management techniques, and safety planning into treatment. I believe in the importance of communication and will assist individuals in their ability to advocate for themselves and communicate effectively with others. Regardless of what you are experiencing, I will provide you with a safe, supportive environment to work toward achieving your individual goals. Do people tell you that you worry too much? That you should try to "be positive" or "stop overthinking everything all the time"? Do you ever wonder how other people manage to not care as much as you do about larger social issues and big questions? Does this ever make you feel anxious or overwhelmed? You are not alone. Together we can help find solutions, improve your sense of self and your relationships, provide safety and warmth, and start to create meaning and order in the chaos of our world. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, transitions, relationship problems, and work difficulties. My approach is holistic, honoring the mind-body connection and individual strengths. I work best with clients who have a natural curiosity about themselves and others. My style is warm, honest and nonjudgmental, and my practice draws from psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, EMDR, internal family systems, and attachment-based neuroscience.
Katherine Berko, LCSW (Working Virtually in NY, CA & FL) | Wonders of the Deep
Therapy can deepen your capacity for love, trust, and connection — with yourself and with others. I’ve seen it ease depression, anxiety, and shame; strengthen self-esteem; and help people become more resilient during life’s ups and downs. Most of all, it can bring forward a truer, more authentic self. Therapy is a collaborative process. You speak, and I listen closely — for what’s said and what lies beneath the surface — helping you see what may be getting in the way of a more fulfilling life. As Carl Rogers wrote: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” I’ve found that to be true. Patients find it helpful to explore childhood, memories that bubble up, dreams, feelings, fears, wishes — whatever arises. Our aim is an understanding of your inner world that leads to meaningful action & choice. With couples, I help you listen more clearly & break entrenched patterns. Everyone longs to be seen and heard & I'll help you arrive at that place. As a therapist and writer, I’m inspired to help each patient take hold of their narrative — understanding where they’ve come from & where they’d like to go. As we get to know one another, I tailor my style to your personality and needs. Your feedback is always encouraged. Email me to schedule a consultation & see if we’re a good fit. I have been practicing in New York City since 2015, giving guidance to those who want to make changes and implement strategies to handle conflicts, transitions and issues which create barriers to their own happiness. We all go through transitions and different waves in our life but ultimately we all want to live a genuine authentic life. We have the capacity to obtain it but how to navigate it is the challenge. It can be daunting to start therapy and be vulnerable with a stranger. I provide the space for you to work at your own comfort, pace and autonomy. I provide talk therapy that is reflective, and explorative with compassion. Treatment goals are a collaborative effort. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.

Therapy is an important and significant decision. I believe it is one of the most important choices a person can make. A therapist must be skilled, empathic, kind and generous. I feel that I am all of these things and am fully committed to each and every patient in my practice. Our work together is a partnership in which we explore the things that are holding you back and keeping you from enjoying your life. Whether you are suffering from depression or trying to break unhealthy relationship patterns, I will work with you to improve your life and unravel difficult patterns. I follow a relational psychodynamic perspective, incorporating behavioral and eclectic approaches. I strive to provide a safe, respectful, and empowering space for my patients to help them overcome their barriers to experience life in more fulfilling ways. Please feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to accompanying you on your journey towards a happier and more satisfying life.

If so, great! If not and you want to see if I can be of help anyway, then feel free to reach out. Please contact me by phone or by email to set-up a moment when we can initially discuss your interest in therapy.

Let’s be honest, going to therapy can be a little intimidating. I know what you are thinking, “what would speaking to a shrink do for me? I have so much on my mind, it will take more than a few sessions to unleash everything.” Well…I got time AND passion. I believe that as human beings living in our present society, we are conditioned to put our needs aside and we frequently forget how to take care of ourselves. As your therapist, I am strongly devoted to assisting you in tackling life challenges, managing problems, and coming out stronger than ever because YOU are capable. My approach to therapy is to use a strength based perspective, CBT and create an unapologetic space for my client. I want my client to feel they don't need to sugar coat anything in sessions because I truly believe transparency will open up my client's full potential to self-discovery and personal growth. I know taking this next step is scary AND brave. Imagine yourself opening up to possibilities you only dreamt of and finally being in control over your life and happiness. Let's work together to build that dream by tackling those negative thought distortions and create new perspectives in order to create your new reality.
