Let me put it simply: being a college student is hard. There are more expectations than ever placed on young adults today and it's a time of tremendous change, transition, and instability. Emotions are a normal part of being human, but sometimes those emotions seem so overwhelming that you might start to feel out of control and alone. It can feel as though no one understands you and no one is really on your side. It might even feel as though your friendships or other relationships are more stressful than they are helpful. That's where I come in. My goal is to provide a safe, stable space and support for you to navigate all of the difficult relationships, changes, and challenges you're experiencing during this time in life. You are not alone!

If you feel like you’re feeling the pressure of what’s next, stop scrolling because trust…you’re in the right place. College is supposed to be an exciting experience but for a lot of students, it feels like: • “I’m behind.” • “Everyone else has it figured out.” • “I’m stressed all the time.” • “I don’t even know what I’m doing here.” If that’s you, I can assure that you’re not broken. You have reached your emotional capacity, feel overwhelmed, and you don’t have to carry that alone. At ThrivePath, we help students slow down, feel safer in their own bodies and minds, and learn how to move through life from alignment, not survival mode. This is therapy and support that feels: ✨ supportive ✨ honest ✨ culturally-aware ✨ and actually helpful No “fix yourself” energy here. At ThrivePath, our energy reads more like “let’s figure this out together.”
Hi, I’m Rithy (pronounced as ‘Rit-Tea’). As an openly proud gay man and a first- generation Asian American (Cambodian & Hmong), I deeply recognize how mental health is woven into our identity, culture, and sense of belonging. My own journey has shown me how identity can sometimes act as a barrier to accessing therapy, whether due to stigma, cultural expectations, or a lack of representation in the field. My passion for mental wellness is rooted in the belief that people are the experts in themselves, and therapy should honor their wisdom, strengths, and lived experiences. With over six years of experience in health and human services, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Autistic and otherwise neurodivergent individuals, and people from diverse socioeconomic, educational, and intersectional identities. I help clients navigate stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Above all, I’m committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and affirming space where people can show up fully as themselves. My intention is to meet you where you are in your mental wellness journey and build on your strengths. Together, we will create meaningful change at a pace and capacity that feels right for you. I believe healing happens in a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and valued. With that in mind, I take a holistic, person-centered approach, promoting an affirming and supportive atmosphere-especially for those exploring LGBTOIA+ identity, relationships, anxiety, and life transitions. I tailor therapy sessions to your unique needs, using modalities like Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness, and Psychoeducation. I also use the Gottman Method to help couples strengthen their connection, improve communication, and navigate conflict with compassion. My approach is affirming and tailored to honor the unique dynamics and identities within each relationship

Hello! I'm Jacobia Williams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a passion for helping others to live their best lives. I've worked as a social worker in settings such as therapeutic foster care, hospitals, counseling, and schools for the last 20 years. My goal is to support you on your life's journey. We are all unique and have stories to tell, but it is important to be the narrator of that story. Many of us have faced challenges with our health, jobs, families, and relationships. Allow me the opportunity to partner with you in developing the skills and tools needed to navigate your world. We want to assist you with living a healthy and happy life. Hi, my name is Rachel Merritt. I am currently a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate. I have experience working with adolescents who have been diagnosed with mental illness or substance use and are a part of the juvenile justice system. My area of focus has been working with youth in individual therapy, working with families in family therapy, working with couples through relationships difficulties and intimacy issues and working with groups in the treatment of trauma. My area of training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat disorders like depression and anxiety. My areas of interest and specialty are Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I love working with all populations because everyone's experience is as different and unique as they are. I offer in-person and virtual sessions. My goal is to help people gain a new perspective and understanding about their life. I teach people to advocate for themselves while giving them the skills needed to heal through therapeutic work. Let's work together to reach your personal goals and by utilizing your own strengths to become a better version of yourself.
Going to a counselor can be intimidating or nerve wracking. Will they accept me? What if I don't know what exactly I want to talk about in therapy? Or do I really want to open up about some of these things? All of these feelings are really normal when beginning counseling and I've had experience working with kids, teenagers, young adults, and adults to begin the journey of processing whatever they would like to work on in therapy. I offer collaborative, supportive, and honest therapy to provide my clients with therapy that helps them identify and work towards the changes they want to see in their lives. I would say my most successful clients have been clients who have been experiencing feelings of anxiety and processing past trauma. I have training in EMDR therapy to help assist with processing past trauma and I work from a theoretical framework of attachment theory, which emphasizes how past relationships impact current relationships. I also provide couples counseling as I have training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I am currently accepting new clients and I'd love to talk over phone or email to see if I might be a good fit for you!
I mainly help people who are experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, setting boundaries, and relationships. Another group with whom I work are members of the adoption triad, being an adoptive mother myself and having worked in adoption for a number of years. I use a combination of modalities and together with my clients choose ones that work best with a particular challenge they may be experiencing. I believe that clients are strong and just need assistance in believing in themselves, so I focus on strengths rather than the medical model of "What's wrong with you?" Clients tell me that they love my positivity and sense of humor.
Are you struggling with boundaries in your life? Are you feeling overwhelmed and stressed out about everything you have to do? Are you a young adult entering a new life season/change and have no clue how to navigate this? Are you needing a comfortable space to just process life? Are you looking for a laid back and easygoing therapist who is fun, nonjudgemental and allows you to show up as your full self (ex. cursing is always acceptable here!)? I am here for you, and I am glad you made it here! Life is crazy and bit annoying at times but together we can work to make it more manageable and enjoyable for you!
Mountains to Sea Counseling offers therapy, education, and consulting with a focus on LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent identities in North Carolina. This is a space where you will be welcomed and affirmed as you make your journey. About Megan: Welcome! I'm so glad you made it here. Taking the first step in seeking out a therapist can be scary and overwhelming. As a non-binary, neurodivergent therapist, I provide an affirming space that allows my clients to accept all parts of themselves, and celebrate their identities. I specialize in working with young adults, including college students and young professionals, who are queer-identified and/or neurodivergent. This might be your first foray into therapy, or maybe you have seen several mental health providers in the past. Maybe you are seeking a diagnosis, or have been given many over the years that don't feel like they make sense or fit. Regardless of where you are coming from, I am committed to working with you in a way that feels individualized and supportive. I love learning about new therapeutic techniques, the nervous system, and exploring new research, but I know that there is no one-size-fits all approach to therapy. The most important thing for me is to offer empathy, validation, and acknowledgement that you are the expert on yourself. I would love to hear from you.

Whether you are new to therapy or someone who is looking to explore a deeper, more profound approach, I am here to help you learn the tools and skills to create positive change in your life. My practice is about creating a safe space where clients are able to heal from anxieties, past difficulties, and traumas by increasing their awareness and acceptance of the different parts that make up who we are as human beings. In doing so, clients are able to release the burdens of the past and find new direction in their lives. I specialize in treating Trauma/ PTSD, Anxiety, Self-Esteem, LGBTQIA+ populations and more. My approach is to go in depth and explore core issues fundamental to well-being. Together, we will treat the causes, not just the symptoms. Getting to the root of mental health challenges facilitates deep transformation and healing from the inside out. I promise to offer you a safe space for exploration with compassion and an open mind. I employ evidence-based models that are individualized to meet your specific needs. I am certified in EMDR, which helps clients process and move past the emotional and physical pain rooted in traumatic memories. I also employ approaches from IFS, DBT and ACT. I am trained in mindfulness and self compassion based approaches and incorporate this into therapy.
I help teenagers and adults who notice behaviors or tendencies about themselves that aren’t helpful. I specialize in navigating and overcoming traumas, such as wounds from childhood and/or religious experiences. Maybe you often feel out of place, like you’re a burden, or so overwhelmed that you’re starting to lose motivation. I want to help you break free from the opinions of others, from self doubt, or the fear of being “too much.” You are capable of knowing your worth and being seen and loved by the people around you. My goal as a therapist is to develop a relationship with you different from any other you’ve had in your life. My values are trust, honesty and vulnerability. What I find unique about the therapeutic relationship is that I can show up in your life unlike anyone else, free of expectations, never being mad at you, and never once judging.
