Therapists for college students near Duke University
I named my practice Conversations Therapy because I have always felt that the words “therapy” and “counseling” have a bad reputation. Some people think that seeking therapy is admitting weakness; others think that their therapist will judge them or tell them that they are “bad” or “broken.” In reality, neither of these things could be further from the truth. Rather, seeking therapy requires strength and determination. Furthermore, therapy can and should be a good experience. At Conversations Therapy, I believe that you are the expert of your own life. As your therapist, my job is to guide you through your complex emotions so that you can gain better clarity on your life. My motto is “Be your authentic self.” I welcome people regardless of their age, background, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, gender identity, or any other identity a human being might hold. I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your feelings and express yourself freely. I encourage you to be yourself and your whole self. In our therapy sessions, we will look at the whole of you and see how your different experiences and emotions have impacted your life.

Whether you're running on empty, navigating identity and belonging, or simply ready to stop circling the same patterns, you are welcome here. I work with adults ready for authentic connection and meaningful change: LGBTQ+ people, people of color, women, and all intersections of these identities. I love working with folks exploring spirituality and spiritual practice, especially those who don't connect with or have been harmed by faith institutions. Presence, liberation, and deep connection are at the heart of my approach. This includes how we relate to ourselves, our identities, and the world around us. I pay deep attention to your story, and that story lives within a dynamic context. I move at your pace, and I'm here to help you see what's in the way, and what's already fabulous about you. If something here resonates, reach out. You don't need to have it figured out! Curiosity is enough. So is exhaustion. We can chat and explore whether working together is a next right move for you. Taking that first step is its own act of courage, and I don't take it lightly. I offer telehealth throughout North Carolina and look forward to connecting.

I am a therapist practice at Triangle Counseling Agency in Raleigh. I am currently taking new clients and see clients remotely. I see children, youth and adults and also do couples counseling. I have been licensed since 2014. I am licensed in North Carolina, Virginia and Texas. I work with a wide variety of ages of people and have experience with using cognitive behavioral therapy, dialetical behavior therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. I work with my client to find interventions that they will use to help manage their symptoms or concerns. I look forward to meeting you in the future.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, my passion has been to assist others with finding that light on the other side of a seemingly dark tunnel. I frequently work with adults ages 17+ to help them gain understanding of how our past can influence our present behaviors and emotional responses and assist those struggling with addiction to regain control over their own lives. I enjoy working with couples to develop positive, healthy relationships and interactions with each other through positive communication, conflict resolution, and remembering where the spark originated. I also work with children ages 8-12 years old who are dealing with depression, anxiety, parental separations, bullying, and self-esteem. Through an Adlerian therapeutic approach and using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, we will work through the challenges that may arise in our everyday lives. I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and am licensed to practice in North Carolina. I became a therapist after spending 8 years in the mental health field working with struggling communities through substance abuse, child sexual abuse, developmental disabilities, dual-diagnosis, and severe mental illness. Many of my clinical experiences over the last 12 years were developed through community mental health, home-based therapy, and mental health practices with children and adults. I am passionate and dedicated to each individual client that I have the pleasure to assist. I have the understanding and personal experience that therapy can be scary, it can be difficult and overwhelming, but I also know that the therapeutic process is something that you have control over. You are the conductor of the train and I am simply the track to help guide you along the way.

I’m deeply passionate about working with teens and young adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or neurodivergence. I understand that navigating these challenges can feel incredibly overwhelming and isolating. My clients often come to me feeling stuck and uncertain, desiring clarity and a sense of direction. They are eager to grow and find their path, yet they may not have the tools or support they need to make this vision a reality. My role is to walk alongside them with empathy and patience, helping them build confidence and resilience. Together, we work to uncover their unique strengths and develop strategies that honor their individual experiences and aspirations. My goal is to provide a supportive space where they can explore their feelings, discover their authentic selves, and move forward with hope and purpose.
