Whatever your reason, therapy can help carve a path toward a more fulfilling life. We are changed, for better or worse, by every relationship in our lives. And my hope is that our relationship will bring about the healing you seek. My name is Zach Burck. I am a licensed mental health counselor. I provide individual therapy, both in person and virtually, to Indiana residents. I work in long-term depth therapy to go beyond coping and create lasting change. I use psychodynamic therapy to deepen understanding of the problems you face through exploration of your thoughts, feelings, fantasies, dreams, and relationships. This process can help you develop more self-awareness, heal old wounds, foster more intimate relationships, and live a more fulfilling life.

My undergraduate focus was in math and science. However, through the years I decided that relationships were more important and realized that most individuals don't have the tools to form good marriage, family, and friendship connections. Much of this is the result of poor parenting that leaves an individual fearful, without confidence, and having no idea how to navigate life's challenges. Children are precious and deserve to feel loved and secure. This is difficult if their parents weren't nurtured and shown how (primarily by example) to have a loving marriage. We deserve love in marriage, and our children need that example. My graduate studies at the University of Southern California were in sociology (sex and gender focus) and marriage and family therapy. I have years of experience in parenting, responding to domestic violence, treating pornography addiction, and helping clients who are depressed and/or anxious.
Feeling more overwhelmed than usual? Noticing the weight of past experiences getting in your way? Looking to move toward healing? Wanting to lean into a healthier version of yourself? These types of thoughts are common. We all struggle, at times, with how we react to different situations. Our life experiences and environments have an affect on our thoughts, feelings and emotions. I believe that you are capable of breaking patterns that no longer serve you and finding your way towards a more intentional and fulfilling life. I offer support in your growth towards more ease and grounding no matter the circumstance. I will offer you a secure space that is welcoming and open to all as well as filled with compassion, acceptance, and curiosity. I believe that you will find me easily approachable and responsive to your unique needs and experiences. I hold a relational focus because the connection that you and I create is essential for the work it takes to get you closer to what you are looking for in your life. I am authentic and honest in my approach because we are humans coming together in a common experience that requires trust and vulnerability to be able to work on hard things together.
If you want a zillenial therapist who is chronically online but also a pro at helping you get your life together, I might be the one for you! Neighborhood Psychiatry is a private outpatient mental health clinic. We are adjacent to Butler University and are physician owned and operated.
Let me be your guide to better understanding yourself and why you think, feel, and behave in the ways that you do. You know yourself better than anyone, but I can help you notice patterns that have been hidden or locked away. Whether experiencing anxiety, relationship concerns, or a low self-esteem, it is my hope to give you a soft space to land with genuine care and kindness. I’ve been a practitioner for 5 years specializing in anxiety, attachment wounds, inner child work, and sex & sexuality. I work with lots of different populations, but mostly work with femmes, trans and nonbinary folks, and the LGBTQ+ community. My goal as your therapist is for you to get to know yourself and others in a more attuned, empathetic, and compassionate way. In my personal time I love to read (expect a lot of book recommendations) and occasionally crochet. I love a good cup of coffee, practicing yoga, and connecting with the earth and nature through native gardening and hiking.
Talking helps. Trying to navigate life’s stressors can feel so isolating. Seeking support isn’t always easy, but the first step to making a positive change is talking to someone. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field since 2010, using a person-centered, strengths-based approach to help teens and adults manage mental health challenges. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and life transitions. My approach prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution- Focused Therapy, and mindfulness. I strive to provide a warm, collaborative, supportive, and non-judgmental environment to focus on achieving your goals. Whether you are seeking support in managing stress, trying to identify a path forward during a difficult time, or needing to develop specific skills to improve coping, I look forward to talking with you!
Perhaps you're down, anxious, heartbroken, or unsure how to proceed, maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, we are here to work with you where you are at at this moment. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery and we promote behavioral transformation by encouraging an inquisitive outlook and the adoption of new strategies and responses. We have the tools and professional experience to help you get moving in a positive direction.
I have been working with adolescents and young adults for 12 years. I focus on each person's individual strengths to overcome emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. I believe the therapeutic process is most successful when it is founded on a trusting, authentic, and collaborative relationship, where my clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and feelings in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, along with a range of other therapeutic techniques to individualize the therapy process for each client. My clinical expertise includes working with clients experiencing Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, oppositional behaviors, grief, and difficulty with major life changes or stressors (especially college transitions).
My approach to therapy comes from a space of empathy, compassion, and absolutely zero judgement. My goal for every individual is to help them experience a positive change. I utilize a strengths based approach to encourage my clients to tap into their own strengths and resources while also meeting them where they are at in their personal therapeutic journey. I became interested in therapy due to my own personal struggles with addiction and with 11 years of sobriety, I hope to help others. My goal is for my clients to get something out of the work we do together and for it to be worthwhile and beneficial for them. I work alongside my clients to help them reach their goals while appreciating and celebrating their strengths. I have a laid back approach which includes colorful language, an odd sense of humor, and finding a balance to push you outside of your comfort zone to accomplish your goals. I hope to create a safe space for my clients to be themselves and for me to help them process life's tough challenges and celebrate the victories.
