I am a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive therapist dedicated to supporting individuals with a history of trauma and life challenges related to mental health issues. My practice focuses on working with people navigating the effects of trauma, which often manifest as mental and behavioral conditions such as PTSD, C-PTSD, Panic Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Codependency, Dissociation, and Addiction. I'm trained in addiction and trauma recovery and am a certified EMDR therapist through the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA). Additionally, I'm also Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed. In my practice, I integrate techniques from EMDR, IFS, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Existential Therapy, and Relationship Therapy. I use EMDR and IFS to help clients access and process difficult memories, fostering psychological healing and resilience. What sets my approach apart is my unwavering commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment. I believe in the power of collaboration and work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans and mutual goals. As a member of a minority group, I deeply understand the importance of cultural sensitivity and strive to provide a space where clients from all backgrounds feel valued and heard. Beyond my professional practice, I am a lifelong learner, continually staying informed about the latest advancements in mental health to better serve my clients.

I especially enjoy working with student creatives—actors, musicians, dancers, writers, designers, and more—who are navigating rejection, comparison, self-doubt, and uncertainty. With a background in the entertainment industry, I personally understand the unique emotional challenges that come with being a performer. We can work together to build resilience, strengthen your sense of self, and help you stay grounded in an industry that often feels anything but. My approach is warm, collaborative, and encouraging. Therapy is a space where we slow down, ask the right questions, and help you move forward in a way that feels aligned with the life you want to live. If this resonates, I'd be glad to connect. I look forward to taking this journey together.

Maybe your life doesn't look the way people expected it to. Maybe you're questioning who you are, navigating a relationship that doesn't fit neatly into a box, or moving through a transition that has left you unsure of what comes next. Maybe you've spent a lot of time trying to meet other people's expectations and are starting to wonder what actually fits for you. I work with individuals who are exploring identity, relationships, and life transitions—particularly people whose experiences don't fit neatly into traditional narratives around gender, sexuality, relationships, or how life is "supposed" to look. You might also be dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply a sense that something needs to change. My work is LGBTQ+-affirming and rooted in existential and feminist therapy. That means we'll make space for the bigger questions you're wrestling with while also paying attention to the real impact that relationships, culture, racism, heterosexism, patriarchy, and other systems can have on your life and sense of self. In therapy, we'll start by getting clear on what's bringing you in and what you most want from our work together. From there, we'll make sense of the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck and work toward changes that fit your goals and values. I draw from ACT, DBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and trauma-focused approaches when they're the right fit. Throughout our work, I'll be collaborative, strengths-based, and guided by what matters to you. I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with 15 years of experience, including experience providing LGBTQ+-affirming care, supporting identity exploration, and helping individuals navigate life transitions.

I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with mood disorders, and I understand how complex and deeply personal these challenges can be. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based care. Whether you’re navigating intense anxiety, persistent low moods, or the highs and lows of bipolar disorder, I’ll meet you where you are—with compassion, not judgment. Together, we’ll explore what works for you. Whether that means therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, my goal is to support you in regaining a sense of stability, clarity, and control over your life. You deserve to feel better. You deserve support that truly understands you. If you're ready to take the next step—or even if you're just curious about what support could look like—I invite you to schedule a time to talk. Let’s take that first step, together.

Do you feel disconnected from yourself, your relationships, or the life you want to create? Are you longing to feel more authentic, grounded, and at home within yourself? Through curiosity and exploration, I help you honor your experiences, soften protective patterns, and reconnect with your inner wisdom and strength. I support individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, complex family dynamics, PCOS/PMOS, PMDD, and life transitions. I especially enjoy supporting those who have learned to prioritize others’ needs while losing touch with their own voice, desires, and inner knowing. My approach is holistic, intersectional, feminist, and trauma-informed; I integrate mindfulness, somatic, and body-based practices to support individuals navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, and patterns that may no longer serve them. I welcome clients who are seeking a deeper connection with themselves, their bodies, and their relationships. Together, we can create a nurturing and collaborative space where you feel seen, supported, &understood. Through presence, self-exploration, and self-compassion, we can move toward greater clarity, connection, and alignment. There's also room for play, creativity, and humor along the way!
Indigo Moon Counseling, PLLC
You keep ending up in relationships that leave you anxious, hurt, and depleted. You ignore your intuition, explain away red flags, and struggle to trust your own judgment. Therapy can help you break free from cycles of chaos and instability by reconnecting you with the part of yourself that has always known what you deserve and who you truly are. I specialize in helping women heal the deeper patterns beneath chaotic relationships, codependency, people-pleasing, and chronic self-doubt. Together, we'll explore how childhood experiences, attachment wounds, and survival strategies shaped the ways you learned to seek love, safety, and belonging. If you've found yourself outsourcing your authority and ignoring your own discernment, therapy can help you reconnect with the wisdom that has always existed within you. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing®, attachment theory, and Jungian depth psychology, we'll teach your nervous system that love no longer has to come at the cost of yourself. My practice is especially affirming for women who are deeply intuitive, spiritually curious, or drawn to earth-based and nontraditional spiritual practices. I believe healing isn't about becoming someone new—it's about remembering who you were before fear, shame, and survival taught you to distrust yourself. Through a feminist, LGBTQ+ affirming, anti-racist, and sex-positive lens, I help women reconnect with their inner wisdom, build relationships rooted in mutual respect rather than pain and intensity, and create lives that feel aligned with their values instead of their wounds. I offer virtual therapy throughout Illinois and Minnesota.

Like many therapist profiles, this page could list my degrees and credentials, provide a vague description of what clients I work with, and be distant but warm; however, that is not how I work with clients or how I am in the world. I want this page to help you decide if we’ll work well together, not just list the things I’ve done. What you probably want to know is 1) do I know what I’m doing and 2) are we a good fit in working together. I have been working in the mental health field, specifically with eating disorders, since 2014 in a variety of capacities including inpatient, residential, and crisis stabilization programs. I am passionate about eating disorder recovery and collaborating with patients to find balance in their lives. I am body-positive and Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned. I have experience in working with families, couples, and individuals in addition to facilitating group therapy. My primary focus lies in helping to support clients and their loved ones in understanding and moving forward in the path to recovery through individual and family therapy. I have earned the distinction of being a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) by the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, and have been an officeholder for the Heartland chapter of iaedp since 2019 and remained committed to pursuing ongoing education within the field. There are so many people who hesitate to come to therapy or to move forward in eating disorder recovery due to having been previously unsuccessful with a “one size fits all” approach. I work with you to figure it out. I’m not a smile-and-nod, sit in silence type of therapist. I'll call you out on your BS, but I can do that in a way where we can both laugh. I'm not afraid to talk about anything you need to talk about. Intrusive thoughts? Feeling like you’re the only person to feel this way? You’d be surprised to find that you’re not alone. Therapy will provide a safe space to be yourself and a supportive environment to help meet you where you’re at and work towards creating lasting change in your life.
