Fundamentally, my aim is to support my clients in contacting their inner self-knowing, and "make friends" with all of the various parts of themselves in the warmth and security of this inner space. To achieve this, I practice person-centered therapy, with a strong emphasis on somatic awareness. When working with clients, I am listening for "what wants to be heard" that day. In my view, I am a supportive and curious observer, and my job is to reflect back to my client what I am seeing. My style tends to be more direct, and I regularly encourage my clients to take ownership over their treatment and to trust themselves. In a first session with me, we explore where you've been, where you are, and where you would like to go. Often, I invite people to tell me their story and then describe their current situation. We will work together to assess what feels like the most supportive areas of focus, and will create some goals which guide our future sessions. During this process, however, you can still expect curiousity, empowerment, and validation. What's most important in any session is establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

As an insight-oriented therapist I operate from the belief that the more we understand about where we have been, the more control we have in where we are going. I take a client-centered approach to therapy, encouraging my clients to bring in what feels most important to them each week. When working with clients, my first priority is establishing a secure, authentic relationship that meets the needs of each individual. We work together to identify patterns of how you relate to yourself and others. We explore where they came from and the purpose they serve in your life. This allows you to identify what you want to change, and together we work to create a life that aligns with who you are.

Hello! I’m a licensed psychologist who seeks to not just help manage symptoms, but to promote wellness. I am experienced in treating a range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, attachment concerns, caretaker stress, chronic pain, binge eating, identity development, career exploration, and life transitions. Having worked with adult clients from a variety of backgrounds, I aim to incorporate a culturally sensitive lens throughout my practice. In sessions, my approach implements behavioral interventions alongside empowerment, exploration of self, and establishing meaning in life. My style is integrative and flexible. I primarily work from a psychodynamic and existential lens to connect past traumas to current patterns, address underlying needs, and foster hope. Through adding in ACT and DBT behavioral interventions, we can better manage symptoms and move towards goals. This multifaceted approach allows client-driven movement between self-exploration, emotional processing, and challenge.

As a queer therapist, I believe there is no one “right way” to live our lives. This is the same for therapy, there is no “right way.” I believe we all have the power to harness our strengths and find the path that gives us the most meaning and purpose. Clients are the experts in their own lives – each person has the tools and skills to solve their problems, though sometimes may need some outside help to find those tools and learn those skills. Together we can create a therapeutic alliance that is conducive towards self-discovery, growth, and fulfilling your potential while honoring your history, resiliency, values, and beliefs. I completed my Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. I am working towards being a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, gender diverse, the consensual non-monogamy (CNM) community, and I am kink/BDSM-affirming.

I believe being a student and learning is an opportunity, and sometimes having a consistent therapist alongside can make the difference and help you get the most out of the opportunity. Being in school is not a singular thing, it’s not just about being the student in class who does assignments and gets the grade. In addition to being a student, there is one’s mental, physical, and emotional health, there are often bills to pay, and often the needs of others to meet. There are many other parts of ourselves and our lives that intersect with and function together with being in school. It can be overwhelming. It can be an adjustment. Transitions are big and important. There are our lives both in and out of school. Students are often also family members, caregivers, working individuals, or living with loss, trauma, depression, stress, or a medical illness. Students also learn differently, including some with accommodations for success. Some students find they need to confront an overwhelming need for perfection, or perhaps one is facing a particular challenge that is important to look at rather than look away. Therapy can be helpful when you are in school. I like to meet a client where they are at and begin by understanding you. I offer my warmth, and capacity to listen and to hold space even when the workable feels unworkable. I offer my experience and knowledge in counseling and in the creative art therapies, and hold value in an inclusive and affirmative lens. I enjoy working with students in higher education, meeting them in the places where school intersects with other parts of self that must be given care and attention, or to look more closely at or develop one’s career journey. I employ both talk therapy and the use of creative, expressive processes such as movement, poetry, art, music, story, and metaphor. The work is collaborative between counselor and client, being open about therapy goals and progress. I place value on your inherent strengths, and believe that we all hold motivation and an innate capacity to heal and be the very best versions of ourselves. Please call or email me to schedule a free consultation call.

I believe in the restorative power of hope. Over the course of my career I have been able to support clients to internalize the belief that they can make change in their lives. From focusing on eliminating inner negative chatter to processing an acute trauma, I strive to create opportunities for the achievement of one's goals. Through partnership, trust and the sharing of knowledge, real movement can occur. There is hope. Licensed as both a mental health and addictions specialist counselor, I work with both individuals and couples. I practice remotely in Colorado and Rhode Island. My practice approach starts with identifying how to begin shifting what isn't providing benefit, with behavioral, cognitive and emotional evolution. This is a strengths-based, collaborative process grounded in trust and respect. I completed my Master of Arts and Master of Education in Psychological Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. My deep professional satisfaction is grounded in the experience of growth and recovery that clients obtain through our efforts. I am available for initial phone consultations to discuss your needs and how we might partner in your care.

At times, life is filled with authenticity, laughter, and fun. Other times it can be demanding, draining, and leave us feeling unsure. The highs and lows of life are normal and we all feel it, but at times we need extra support and space, and that is okay! As your therapist, my main goal is to provide an open, safe and accepting place for all to navigate life. Through deconstructing unhelpful beliefs, utilizing art and play to aid in emotional expression and increasing self-compassion, my hope is to find unique ways to support your or you child's journey to better mental health. In the space we create together, I hope to sit along side you/your child to collaborate on ways to reach the goals you have for yourself. Through an eclectic, person-centered approach I help people (ages 3-25) increase their positive engagement in life by managing life transitions, processing trauma, and assisting with general mental health care. If you were on a hike, you would want a really good fitting pair of hiking boots...think of choosing a therapist like that! If I might be that therapist for you please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions to see if we are the best fit for you. I look forward to supporting you in the best way I can.

Are you feeling like something isn't quite right with you? Do you feel overwhelmed with daily life, while it seems like everyone else is doing just fine? It's not uncommon for people to struggle with past trauma, anxiety, or high levels of stress, which can make it challenging to cope with daily life and enjoy it. If you're at this point, know that you're not alone, and there is support available to you. As a therapist, I specialize in working with women, those in the LGBTQ+ community, and others who are seeking a safe and accepting space to heal. I understand that it can feel like you're trapped in the past, or that depression and anxiety are weighing you down, but there are effective treatments that can help you feel better in a matter of weeks, not years. My approach includes HeartMath, a program focused on finding balance and inner peace, as well as written exposure therapy, which is an evidence-based, gentler version of more intense trauma therapies. These techniques can help you feel more energy, freedom, and peace in your daily life. I know that starting therapy can be intimidating, which is why I work at your pace and provide a safe and supportive environment. If you're interested in learning more about how I can help, please visit my website to schedule a free consultation. You deserve support, and I'm here to help you on your journey to healing.

Hello, I am a therapist with an extensive history of working with clients of all ages who have had to deal with a multitude of mental health symptoms, or just difficulty managing the conflicts that arise for all of us as we attempt to find joy in a complicated world. My style is to be collaborative while providing culturally responsive therapeutic services to children, adolescents, families, and individuals. I look forward to working with clients to enhance their innate abilities to create positive change in their lives, with their relationships, and within the community they interactive with. I feel it is my responsibility to be flexible in meeting the needs of all clients who come to me for therapy. Together we will discover the style of learning that best suits you in order to create an environment safe enough to address the concerns which bring you to therapy at this time. I believe, that for many, reaching out and asking for help, support, or sharing inner concerns can seem like an unattainable process. I also believe that once a person makes the decision to reach out they begin to feel a sense of relief and hope. I feel honored to provide therapy and to be a part of someone's choice to engage in the therapeutic process.
