Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
Hello, I am Octavia, and I know that college is an exciting chapter, but it can also feel overwhelming with academic pressures, social challenges, and the transition into adulthood. I specialize in supporting students who are navigating anxiety, stress, depression, and the emotional ups and downs that often come with this stage of life. Whether you’re struggling with motivation, feeling isolated, managing perfectionism, or working through past trauma, I provide a validating and supportive space where you can sort through challenges, learn to regulate emotions, and build healthier coping strategies. I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care in order to help students strengthen resilience, boost self-confidence, and create a more balanced, fulfilling college experience. I am licensed in Arizona and Wyoming and offer flexible and accessible sessions to fit into your lifestyle. You don’t have to go through this season alone. Hopefully, we can work together to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and the tools you need to THRIVE.
You might be a good fit for working with me if you feel like you’re holding a lot inside. Maybe you look like you have it together on the outside, but internally you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or exhausted—especially when it comes to relationships with family, partners, or friends. You might be dealing with stress from school while also trying to navigate breakups, family tension, or long-standing patterns in relationships that you don’t fully understand yet. Maybe you’ve caught yourself thinking, “I should be able to handle this,” but something still feels stuck. If you tend to be someone who cares deeply about others, takes on responsibility, and pushes through—even when it’s hard—you’re not alone. Many students I work with feel this way. They’re not broken or failing; they’re just tired of carrying everything by themselves. If you’re looking for a space where you can slow down, talk honestly, and learn practical ways to cope while also making sense of what you’re going through, we’ll likely work well together. You don’t have to have all the answers—just a willingness to show up as you are.

Hello my name is Nataeah Barron. I am a licensed marriage family therapist, licensed addiction counselor, and a first responder counselor. I have abundant experience working with relationships, life stressors, life transitions, PTSD, trauma, and anxiety/depression.
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted from carrying the same stress, grief, relationship struggles, or emotional pain for far too long. You may feel frustrated that despite your efforts, the same patterns keep showing up in your relationships, communication feels difficult, burnout has taken over, or life no longer feels sustainable in the way it once did. Some clients come in feeling anxious, emotionally drained, lost in a major life transition, or unsure how to reconnect with themselves or the people they love. If this sounds like you, I'm glad you're here. I specialize in working with young adults and couples experiencing relationship distress, emotional disconnection, attachment injury, burnout, betrayal trauma, separation, and major life transitions. I also support women navigating pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, identity shifts, and the emotional challenges that can come with these changes. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process rooted in honesty, connection, and compassion. Using a person-centered, attachment-based approach, I work alongside clients to explore the emotions and patterns keeping them stuck. Together, we work toward healing, healthier relationships, and greater overall balance, hope, and fulfillment.
Zyan is a neurodiverse and nonbinary/transmasculine Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate who is passionate about working with people ages 18+ who are struggling with substances. They also enjoy working with neurodiversity and/or queer identified people (or people exploring those identities). Zyan supports people in creatively problem solving, learning coping skills, building empowering authenticity, radically accepting being flawed humans, and recognizing how systems impact mental health. Zyan takes an eclectic person-centered approach, which means that who you are, and the context you are existing in, take center stage. Zyan also brings in elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help build skills to address what struggles you may be facing. It can be hard to reach out for support for many different reasons, and even looking at clinicians online is a noteworthy step. Please feel free to reach out to them to see if it would be a good next step.
I believe in the power of real human connection. Everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued exactly as they are. My style is warm, client-centered, and grounded in curiosity. Alongside open dialogue, I use evidence-based approaches like ACT and DBT to help you manage anxiety, build stronger coping tools, and navigate life’s curveballs. I work with adults (18+) facing big transitions: starting college, figuring out who you are, exploring relationships and sexuality (including LGBTQ+ identities), or feeling stuck between worlds. As a bisexual therapist and someone who’s moved across cultures, I get what it’s like to question where you belong or how to move forward. I also support clients dealing with health challenges, athletic injuries, sexual health, chronic illness, eating disorders, and body image concerns. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me adventuring in the mountains. I see therapy a lot like a tough hike: challenging, sometimes uncomfortable, but deeply rewarding. I’m honored to walk alongside you as you find your own path.

Do you often find yourself going back and forth about making a change in your head? Is part of you wanting to make that change and part of you not feeling sure or quite ready yet? This is all part of the change process, and you are probably further along than you realize! Sometimes a new perspective and new tools can help us "get off the seesaw" and get closer to the life we want to have. I work to build a space of non-judgment and acceptance so my clients can be seen exactly as they are without fear, so we can find the path forward together. I work most often with clients who are anxious, perfectionistic, struggling to balance their work/home lives, or people who are trying to work through religious-based trauma. The services I provide are secular, racial justice allied, gender-affirming and LGBTQIA+ allied, and body positive. I have also worked with military service members, spouses, and family members for years. If you have any questions about how this affects my approach, please feel free to ask! I utilize evidenced-based approaches (ACT, DBT, EMDR) to help clients develop new skills, and lean into their current strengths so they can move toward the life they want. Maybe this is your first time in counseling, or maybe you are coming back due to recent challenges. My goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and ready to take on what you're facing together. I look forward to getting to know you, and being a part of your change process!

College is usually sold as "the best years of your life," but for a lot of students, it feels more like a non-stop cycle of pressure. At Alpine Creek, we work best with students who are tired of pretending they have it all figured out. Most of our student clients come to us because they feel like they’re just "getting by" rather than actually living. What it often feels like: Constant Brain Fog: You’re physically in class, but your mind is stuck on your to-do list, your grades, or a conversation that went wrong three days ago. The "Social Battery" is Dead: Trying to find your place on campus or dealing with roommate drama is leaving you feeling more drained than connected. Relationship Stress: Whether it's a long-distance struggle or a new relationship here in town, you’re arguing more and feeling less understood. Heavy Weight: You might be carrying things from your past, like trauma or old family stuff, that feels like it’s getting heavier now that you’re on your own. The "What’s the Point?" Feeling: It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re dealing with deep sadness or an anxiety that won't let you catch your breath. How we help: We don’t do "clinical" or "stuffy" therapy. We provide a straightforward, safe space to just be a human. We help you look at the patterns that keep you stuck and give you actual tools to manage the panic, the low moods, and the relationship blowouts.
