I love working with college students and young adults, helping them identify their values, where they're getting stuck, and how to go after the things they want. I specialize in working with adults with anxiety disorders including Generalized Anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety, Panic attacks, and specific fears. I help clients overcome their anxiety by approaching, rather than avoiding, their anxiety and anxiety-provoking situations, learning tools and gaining confidence along the way. This can sound scary at first, but the more you do it, the easier it gets.

With more than a decade of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I work with adults navigating a broad range of challenges, from depression and anxiety to PTSD, OCD, life transitions, and Bipolar Disorder. I’m especially passionate about perinatal health and the transition to parenthood. No matter your struggles, I provide compassionate, high-quality mental health care that is individualized and patient-centered. My goal is to hear and understand your story so you leave our visits feeling heard and hold a clear understanding of what your path to feeling better will look like. Our lives are busy, but that doesn't mean your mental health should suffer. My priority as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is to get to know you as an individual, use shared decision making, and develop an evidence-based treatment plan that fits your specific needs. This approach ensures high-quality mental health care that is accessible, personalized, and easy to fit into your life, so you can focus on feeling your best. My approach to mental health care has been shaped by more than 15 years in healthcare, beginning with inpatient work as a medical/surgical nurse. Working with individuals during vulnerable times, I recognized the links between physical health and mental health, while through my graduate work I gained experience in integrated care and was able to provide care to diverse individuals in a community mental health setting. Education has been a thread through my clinical work, including being an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Washington. As an educator, I actively keep up to date on the latest research, which I apply to my clinical work. I expanded my practice to the private practice setting in Washington State, and a move to Colorado brought me to SOL Mental Health. Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my husband and son. I also love cooking, being outside, and sneaking in a hike or Pilates session.

My goal is to work collaboratively with you to create a supportive space where you can explore your goals, build resilience, and develop strategies to manage all of life’s challenges while living more authentically. You deserve an empathetic, understanding, and empowering partner in care. Contact me today to start your healing journey with a therapist focused on transforming your mental health. I believe in supporting you with compassion and respect for your autonomy, which helps me be a collaborative and understanding partner in care. In our work together, you can expect a safe, non-directive, and trustworthy environment that helps you explore yourself and identify values you can live by. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals, build resilience, and create meaningful change through person-centered, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and other tailored therapeutic approaches. As a former NCAA Division I athlete, I offer a unique perspective in supporting individuals, including athletes navigating both mental health and performance-related challenges. This perspective was built upon my own experience in seeking help for challenges as a college athlete, including anxiety and burnout after an injury, one that deepened my commitment to providing the unconditional, nonjudgmental care everyone deserves. In my practice now, I remain dedicated to bringing warmth, kindness, and understanding to each session, creating a space where you can explore and grow at your own pace. Staying active is important for the mind, body, and soul, whether I’m in or out of the office. When I’m not working, you’ll most often find me out on a run, spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee.

Do you want to learn how to let go, have fun, and live in the moment? Do you want to get more in touch with your playful and creative inner child? Does the idea of doing improv comedy make you feel nervous, but you’re intrigued? Do you like to laugh? Within a small, supportive group of 4-7 people that meets for eight weeks, you will learn how to be more compassionate towards yourself so that you can feel calmer and more connected to other people, more often! You will practice your self-compassion skills in real-time through tailored improv comedy exercises that are designed to support you on the path toward increasing your self-acceptance and self-confidence. We will laugh a lot : ) Past clients have said… “I always felt nervous to go, but felt like something had been released after each session." “I love the space to talk about what we are dealing with. I have never been actually excited to go to therapy until finding this group.” "The play and improv was beneficial for my perfectionism because I got to experience just diving into things." "I loved connecting with people who I felt really understood me.” “I am forever changed!”

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in body image/eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ issues, and relationship concerns. I also provide general mental health services for those struggling with anxiety, life transitions, or depression. I greatly enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and am passionate about serving as an advocate as well as honoring and celebrating clients' identities in our work together. I particularly enjoy working with college students as I have spent the majority of my training and career working in university counseling centers. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and I value receiving feedback from my clients and ensuring their voice is heard and respected in our relationship. I emphasize exploring how past experiences and our unique identities shape our current selves and understanding of the world. I aim to create a safe space in therapy as well as a new experience where clients can feel truly seen and accepted as their whole selves. I believe trauma-informed care is essential to avoid pathologizing clients and to name and honor clients' resilience and many strengths. In my work with clients, I aim to be compassionate and authentic while bringing a good dose of humor and relatability. If you are interested in working together, feel free to contact me by e-mail/phone to schedule an initial consultation. This is a free 15-20 minute phone session in which we can determine if we are a good fit for one another. I look forward to speaking with you!

At Zephyr Behavioral Health and Wellness, we work best with students who feel like they’ve been pushing through life on hard mode. You might be overwhelmed, burned out, or constantly second-guessing yourself. Maybe school feels harder than it should, relationships feel confusing, or you’re exhausted from trying to keep up with expectations that don’t quite fit who you are. Many of the students we support are neurodivergent (including ADHD, autism, or sensory differences), navigating anxiety or depression, or carrying the weight of chronic stress or past experiences. Some come to us feeling stuck or misunderstood. Others are high-achieving but quietly struggling beneath the surface. You don’t need to have everything figured out to get started. Our team focuses on creating a space that is affirming, collaborative, and practical. Where you can show up as you are and build tools that actually work for your brain, your goals, and your life. If you’re looking for support that feels respectful, personalized, and aligned with who you are, Zephyr may be a good fit for you.

When you’re in need of compassionate mental health care, you deserve genuine openness from a therapist who strives to be your advocate at all times. I look forward to being that advocate for you, learning more about who you are as an individual while exploring the ways we can achieve your collaborative goals together. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner with more than a decade of experience, I help adults navigate challenges posed by depressive and anxiety disorders as well as assist with processing and treating trauma and grief that individuals have experienced throughout their lives. My goal is to make in-depth inquiries and connections that get to the root of your struggles and build the skills needed to overcome any obstacle. I'm passionate about helping redefine the past and instilling hope for greater mental wellness. That’s why my method is centered around openness and grounded in the idea that you are not broken and needing to be "fixed." Instead, we use your life experiences to heal and explore the person you would like to be. In our time together, you can expect a kind, casual, and inquisitive environment when exploring your symptoms and history. I operate with a person-centered, Rogerian approach, using the concept of "unconditional positive regard" and a conversational style, so you feel understood in a non-judgmental way and at ease when discussing difficult history. I have served the Denver community as a psychiatric nurse practitioner based in mental health for the majority of my career. During this time, I had the honor of treating a wide number of diagnoses and severities of symptoms across ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic hardships. These experiences taught me just how nuanced mental health care truly is, allowing me to see a person not as "one diagnosis," but to take into account their entire history, relationship dynamics, and values to best tailor treatment, leading to greater well-being. When I’m not in my therapist role, I am a hobbyist woodworker and woodturner. I enjoy building and tinkering with models, as well as other creative outlets like cooking and baking sourdough bread.

It seems like doing life got harder. Stress is prevalent, the room clears out. You feel overwhelmed, patience is low and checking out sounds like a good idea. Tired of trying to make everyone happy? Got friends? Love? Expressing confidence is difficult and you question yourself constantly. All of these can lead to depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships and poor habits and addiction. But they don't have to cause suffering. There are many tools available to you that can help you problem solve, reduce anxious and depressive symptoms, improve relationships and even tools that you can start using right now to find love. I practice from the belief that everyone can have a balanced life. You can have love, friends & even appreciate going to work every day. That anxiety is not to be feared but appreciated. That your mind has the potential to heal naturally given the right tools. My toolbox includes art, mindfulness, somatic techniques, CBT, outdoor therapy and more. The hardest step is to show up to your first session. For many of us it is like the first day of school. Soon, you get to know your teachers and with hard work, you learn, you grow and you move on. Team up with me and you will soon discover that you won't want to go back to the old way of being.

I work with you to not just understand what's going on, but also to develop tools to help. Tools to stop panic attacks, tools to manage depression, tools to get organized and figure out what you want in life. We work together to see what works reliably for you. In addition to talking things through, in session and between sessions sometimes you might be writing, sometimes trying a challenging behavior change, sometimes engaging in mindfulness, and sometimes using visualizations. My aim is for you to feel better, and to know what to do to keep feeling better or help yourself if problems resurface. And I try to work efficiently with you, so you are back to your life (and ending therapy) as soon as makes sense for you. Give me a call to set up an initial (free) conversation, at 303-870-9195.
