I work with those facing life transitions, uncertainty, or longing for more fulfillment in their lives and relationships. I love to help individuals reconnect with their inner wisdom, find their joy and fuel their passions. We do this by addressing body, mind, heart and soul. I am guided by the heartfelt belief that a good therapeutic alliance can improve lives through mindful attention, building skills, and gaining perspective. My clients report feeling more empowered, embodied and connected after our work together. My goal is to help individuals connect with their deep inner resources to lead richer, more satisfying lives. For over a decade I have helped individuals address chronic mental health challenges including addictions and trauma using evidence-based practices. I believe the healing impulse lies within each of us and I work to empower my clients to find balance and healing. I focus on honoring the inherent wisdom of the individual through times of crisis and wellness. I create a safe space and bring a warm, earthy approach to what I do with clients. As an LGBTQ+ ally, I celebrate diversity and welcome individuals of all sexual orientation and gender expression. Trained in family systems approaches, I love working with families to help incorporate & celebrate the wildly varying range of individual expression. Let's talk!

I draw from person-centered care, treating anxiety through mindfulness-based therapy, and evidence-based approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I especially enjoy working with college students navigating career and life transitions, as well as adults experiencing anxiety, depression, or Bipolar II Disorder. My style as a psychologist is warm, collaborative, and grounded in kindness, while also making space for humor and lightness when appropriate.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client, and that by working together we can help you move toward understanding and healing. Your job is to be curious about yourself. Mine is to inspire and assist you in exploring the unknown, uncomfortable, and unfamiliar. I strive to kindly challenge the way people think, and to be challenged myself. I am honored when asked to be present in challenging times, and work to balance holding room for discomfort while helping you discover how to move forward. My ultimate goal is to help you heal by building upon our respect, honesty, and mindfulness. I approach counseling from an experiential and existential perspective, and integrate attachment, feminist, and narrative therapies. My training includes EFT, Gestalt, MI, and DBT. I love counseling young adults, and have worked in school settings for 15 years. I also greatly enjoy working with couples. I'm active in LGBTQIA+ and polyamorous communities. I find joy in helping clients explore and heal, no matter what journey you find yourself on! I look forward to connecting with you. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, older adults, couples, relationship issues, life transitions, multicultural concerns, members of LGBTQIA+ communities, and polyamorous individuals, couples, and families.

Feeling overwhelmed, behind, anxious, unsure, or like you’re constantly juggling too much? College can bring intense pressure to perform, stay productive, and have a plan—often while managing relationships, family expectations, finances, and questions about who you’re becoming. Even when things are going well academically or socially, many students carry a quiet sense of stress, self-doubt, or disconnection that’s hard to put into words. College is often referred to as the “best years of your life,” yet it’s also a time of major transition and identity formation. You may be making important decisions about your future while still figuring out what you value, what you want, and how to trust yourself. It’s common to feel stuck, anxious, or alone during this period—especially when it seems like everyone else is more confident or has things figured out. How We’ll Work Together I pay close attention to the tension many young adults feel between the part of them seeking stability and the part longing for meaning. It’s common to feel torn between wanting security—a solid job, steady relationships, a clear plan—and wanting a life that feels authentic, purposeful, and alive. In our work, we’ll explore this inner conflict with curiosity rather than judgment and find a way forward that integrates both of these core desires. Many young adults also carry a quiet sense of “I should be further along by now,” shaped by family expectations, social comparison, and cultural pressure. Together, we’ll slow down these narratives and build a relationship to yourself that’s based on honesty, compassion, and your actual needs—not someone else’s timeline. We’ll explore patterns in your relationships, clarify your values, likes, and dislikes, and build skills that help you move through the world with more confidence and ease. Therapy becomes a place to practice new ways of relating: setting boundaries, being more authentic, understanding your emotional patterns, and building healthier relationships. We’ll look at where your values, instincts, and longings are trying to guide you, and how to make choices that align with who you’re becoming.

If you have survived trauma, abuse or neglect, I can help you cast off the chains of your past and live the life you desire! One of the most rewarding areas of my practice is working with couples, families and stepfamilies to realize what is not working and break out of deleterious, patterns. Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or like they’re “stuck” in patterns they understand but can’t seem to change. You may notice yourself pushing through stress, overthinking, shutting down, avoiding conflict, or feeling out of touch with how you actually feel. Many of us were never taught how to understand our emotions, regulate anxiety, or listen to what our bodies are trying to communicate. We learn to push through stress, become disconnected from ourselves, or rely on coping patterns that once helped us survive but no longer serve us. While traditional talk therapy focuses on changing thoughts or understanding patterns, somatic therapy includes working with emotions, nervous system responses, and physical sensations in the body. Together, we slow down and begin building a more compassionate and curious relationship with your internal experience rather than fighting against it. I integrate Somatic Experiencing®, Brainspotting, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)–informed approaches, with attention to how past relationships and nervous system patterns show up in the present. Sessions are paced to help you notice what’s happening internally, build capacity for difficult emotions, and unwind long-held stress and tension. With over 17 years of clinical experience, I help clients feel more ease, aliveness, and connection to themselves and others—especially those who continue to feel “stuck” even after years of therapy.

Hi! I'm Elise and I'm so glad you're here. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I'd love to support you through it. I work with individuals and couples who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of why the same patterns keep showing up in their lives or relationships. Maybe you're navigating the stress of college, anxiety, self-doubt, family and relationship challenges, or a big life transition. Maybe you and your partner are finding yourselves having the same arguments, feeling disconnected, or struggling to communicate the way you'd like. Whatever brings you in, you don't have to navigate it alone. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself—where you can laugh, cry, and explore the hard moments. Together, we'll make sense of what's keeping you stuck and work towards creating relationships with others and yourself that feel more connected, authentic, and fulfilling.

Do you often find yourself going back and forth about making a change in your head? Is part of you wanting to make that change and part of you not feeling sure or quite ready yet? This is all part of the change process, and you are probably further along than you realize! Sometimes a new perspective and new tools can help us "get off the seesaw" and get closer to the life we want to have. I work to build a space of non-judgment and acceptance so my clients can be seen exactly as they are without fear, so we can find the path forward together. I work most often with clients who are anxious, perfectionistic, struggling to balance their work/home lives, or people who are trying to work through religious-based trauma. The services I provide are secular, racial justice allied, gender-affirming and LGBTQIA+ allied, and body positive. I have also worked with military service members, spouses, and family members for years. If you have any questions about how this affects my approach, please feel free to ask! I utilize evidenced-based approaches (ACT, DBT, EMDR) to help clients develop new skills, and lean into their current strengths so they can move toward the life they want. Maybe this is your first time in counseling, or maybe you are coming back due to recent challenges. My goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and ready to take on what you're facing together. I look forward to getting to know you, and being a part of your change process!
