Are you or your child navigating mental health struggles, but are ready to better understand yourself and create meaningful change? As an LGBTQIA+-affirming therapist, I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, identity development, and trauma for adolescents and adults. You may feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, disconnected from your values, or overwhelmed by past experiences. Rather than looking for someone to "fix" you, you want a compassionate therapist who helps you make sense of your story, build practical skills, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling. That’s where I come in. I have a particular passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and others seeking a safe, affirming space where you can be fully yourself while developing resilience, self-compassion, and deeper, more connected relationships. In my view, healing happens through genuine connection, authenticity, and a relationship built on trust, compassion, and respect. My goal is to be a thoughtful, collaborative partner who walks alongside you, not to tell you who you should become but to help you discover the strengths, resilience, and wisdom that already exist within you. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for something different, you don't have to navigate it alone. I would be honored to support you as you build the life, relationships, and sense of purpose you deserve, one meaningful step at a time. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of healing, and my style reflects that through thoughtful, engaging, and genuine care. I provide trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-affirming therapy grounded in compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based care to help you reconnect with your strengths and live more intentionally. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), existential therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and Mindfulness, I tailor treatment to your unique story and goals. Together, we'll identify unhelpful patterns, develop practical coping skills, process difficult experiences, and build a life that aligns with your values, working at a pace that feels both supportive and appropriately challenging. The goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, challenged with care, and empowered to create lasting change. My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both my professional career and my personal life. Like many of my patients, I've experienced seasons of anxiety, depression, and profound life transition. Therapy was an essential part of helping me navigate those challenges while pursuing a high-achieving career, raising an incredible son with autism and ADHD, and later embracing my authentic self as a transgender woman in midlife. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the courage it takes to ask for help and the transformative power of a trusting therapeutic relationship. Today, I am committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-affirming care where patients feel truly seen, understood, and accepted. I bring empathy, life experience, and clinical expertise to every session, believing that healing begins when people discover they don't have to face life's challenges alone. Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my son and exploring Colorado through backpacking, climbing, and skiing. A lifelong competitive tennis player and music lover, I also love spending time with my French Bulldog. These experiences keep me grounded, remind me to appreciate the present moment, and reinforce the importance of resilience, connection, and finding joy in life's everyday adventures.

Healing is rarely a straight path, and having the right support can make all the difference. As a mental health therapist, my work centers on helping adults 18 and older from diverse backgrounds navigate the ways mental health shapes their personal, professional, and social lives, whether that means managing everyday stress or working through more complex challenges. My commitment is to meet you exactly where you are, as a collaborative partner on your therapeutic journey, to help you build the tools and insight needed to move forward. Together, we'll work toward the clarity, resilience, and hope you deserve. Compassionate, humorous, and guided by you — that's the foundation of how I show up for every person I work with. I believe deeply in the healing power of human connection, and getting to witness that unfold in practice is what drives me. At all times, you can expect a nonjudgmental space where laughter is always welcome alongside the harder conversations. My style is empathetic and adaptive, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Mindfulness-based approaches to strengthen your sense of well-being across all areas of life. Your unique goals, experiences, and needs shape the direction of our work together, because the most meaningful progress happens when care is truly tailored to you. My path to becoming a therapist began with first being a patient myself. This experience gave me a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to seek support and the profound impact attentive, caring treatment can have on a person's life. Today, that lived experience informs every session I offer. Alongside my clinical training, it grounds me in empathy and authentic presence, and I'm just as eager to learn from your story as I am to share the tools that may help you write the next chapter. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me recharging through creative and outdoor pursuits. Drawing and painting offer a meditative outlet, while fishing and archery bring a welcome sense of patience and focus. Reading keeps my curiosity alive, and regular walks help me stay grounded, a practice I find just as valuable in everyday life as in the work we do together.

Reaching out for psychiatric care can be difficult. You may be concerned about being judged, unsure about medication, or discouraged by previous treatment experiences. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe care should be built on trust, honesty, respect, and collaboration. My role is to listen without judgment, explain your options clearly, and make sure you have a meaningful voice in treatment. I work with people of all backgrounds, including adolescents, adults, veterans, military-connected individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many patients come to me because they want to better understand what they’re experiencing and find a treatment plan that feels manageable. These struggles may result in feeling constantly on guard, depressed, hopeless, unmotivated, or unable to concentrate – with symptoms that often affect sleep, relationships, school, work, and day-to-day functioning. Other psychiatric conditions include PTSD, mood disorders, and ADHD. No matter what you’re facing, my aim is to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, honesty, respect, and collaboration to better help you improve sleep, focus, emotional stability, relationships, motivation, and overall quality of life. My work as a psychiatric clinician centers on evaluations, diagnoses, medication management, supportive therapy, treatment planning, and patient education, all guided by a collaborative, patient-centered approach built on shared decision-making. Rather than simply prescribing a path forward, I take time to listen and explain treatment options clearly, so you understand the potential benefits and risks of each one before deciding together what makes sense. From there, your treatment plan is built around your specific symptoms, goals, preferences, and past response to care. That same collaborative spirit shapes what it feels like to work with me day to day. My style is calm, conversational, and grounded in a supportive, respectful environment where you're never just receiving instructions. Through medication management, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, and education, I help you better understand what you're experiencing and take an active role in your own treatment. As your goals and experiences evolve, so does your plan, since care here is never meant to be static. My approach to mental health care has been shaped by 25 years of experience as an Army combat medic, critical care nurse, and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. These roles gave me firsthand insight into trauma, crisis, resilience, and the effects of high-stress environments on individuals and families. I also hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, a Master of Business Administration, and the Healthcare Ethics Consultant-Certified credential. This combination of clinical, leadership, and healthcare ethics training strengthens my commitment to thoughtful, evidence-based treatments that respect each patient's values, autonomy, and individual circumstances. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our four children. Our family is actively involved in Scouting America, which gives us opportunities to serve our community, spend time outdoors, and learn new skills together. I also enjoy fishing, camping, kayaking, gaming, reading, and woodworking.

Offering therapy sessions in-person from my office in West Arvada, and convenient virtual sessions from anywhere in CO, MT, VT, ID and FL! The jump into adulthood is a wild ride. Even if you seem like you’ve “got it together,” there’s a lot happening—new social circles, changing relationships, big life decisions, and school or work stress that can feel like… a lot. It’s normal to need extra support while figuring out who you are and how you want to show up in the world. I create a safe, judgment-free space where you can talk it out, process what’s going on, and actually feel heard. We’ll work on developing effective coping strategies, building your confidence, learning how to set boundaries, and communicate effectively with those in your life. Sometimes it’s easier to open up to someone outside your everyday life—someone who can help you see things from a different angle without the drama. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations of children and young adults, and I’m passionate about helping people overcome obstacles and thrive. My approach is empathetic, nonjudgmental, and honest. I strive to meet people exactly where they are and support them in moving toward their goals. I grew up in Vermont, lived in Hawai‘i, NYC, and Denver and now call Whitefish, Montana home. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking in the mountains, relaxing at the lake, at a live show, or hanging out with my rescue dog, Hendrix.

Healing and growth takes place in the context of relationships - in our relationship with ourselves, and in our relationships with others. Unfortunately, our relationships can sometimes become distant, disconnected and a place of conflict, leaving us with unmet needs and just feeling “stuck.” We don’t feel safe asking for what we need, and maybe don’t even know what we need ourselves. The therapeutic relationship in counseling provides an authentic and safe place in which healing can begin to take place. My goal is to provide you with a space where you feel seen and heard; where you feel safe to explore your story and your experiences; a space where you can work through some of the hard things in a way that moves you towards a deeper sense of wholeness and connection. If you'd like to find out if this is a good place for you to address some of these things for yourself, reach out and we can schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if it would be a good fit!
