I have been in private practice for 20 years, with my specialty focusing on individuals resolving historic traumas and women balancing all of the complications of womanhood in a fast paced, demanding world. In all of my therapeutic work I talk about "traumas". Traumas can be events or messages we internalize about ourselves from the past. Traumas can be brilliantly adaptive: helping us to become incredible, impressive humans. Our traumas can also hold us back in many ways that may be limiting our happiness: the other side of the proverbial coin.

Harmony Recovery is a 3.7 medical detox and residential addiction treatment program. We serve men and women ages 18+. We are located on a 43-acre campus in beautiful Estes Park, CO where we try and utilize our backyard as much as possible. Additionally, we offer virtual IOP in the mornings and evenings for commercial insurances only. Harmony Recovery is in-network with most major insurance companies including Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, ComPsych, UCHealth, Humana, Poudre School District, Optum, United Health, Kaiser, Medicaid, Multiplan, PHCS, Mines, Rocky Mtn Health Plans and many more. During the client’s stay in our residential care, they will benefit from 24-hour attention provided by highly skilled staff, ensuring comprehensive clinical, medical, and spiritual support. Individualized treatment is based on each client’s personal goals and preferences, level of motivation, co-occurring mental health, medical, and spiritual needs. The residential addiction treatment program consists of men’s and women’s tracks. These tracks conducted separately, with men and women living and receiving treatment in separate facilities. This allows us to address the underlying issues that affect each differently that contribute to the disease of addiction. Mornings focus on group-based cognitive behavioral therapy, leveraging the outdoors as often as possible. Daily hikes along our “12 Step” Trail are normal, while afternoons are set aside for educational offerings. Individually, clients meet weekly with a primary therapist and a case manager. Additional services are available as well, such as specialty groups for 12 Step, Trauma, and Co-Occurring Disorders. Clients diagnosed with mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, and other trauma-related responses, meet with appropriate staff. Clinical staff work with clients to teach healthy coping skills while the medical team provide medication management.

Individual counseling is a team effort between the client and counselor. Therapists use a personal and independent approach to identify clients goals, and work along side them to develop the self-awareness and skills it takes to reach their goals. We work closely with each individual to empower them to produce change and help them live more fulfilling lives again. Our hope is that you will experience the freedom and healing you desire while growing in deeper understanding of who you are. We also offer couple, group, family or addictions counseling!

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

As a social worker, I believe in the importance of human relationships and in the dignity and worth of the person. I therefore approach every client as an individual and focus on establishing a strong therapeutic alliance. I believe in each person’s ability to grow and change. I believe that we are inherently well intentioned and are simply learning who we are and how we want to show up in this world. I offer an interpersonal style of Cognitive Therapy, combining the belief that it’s the relationship that heals, with an active, educational, and skill based approach. I hope to inspire a fascination with our minds, ultimately supporting clients in developing a strong and healthy sense of self, where you are no longer servants to your “thinking mind” or “conditioned self”, but rather live from the truth of who you are. I believe that the work lies not in getting rid of the unpleasant or uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, and emotions, rather in changing our relationship with them when they arise, based on a more integrated and clear understanding of ourselves. While I was originally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, most of my clinical experience has been through interpersonal styles of therapy. I believe that the relationship established in a counseling setting is the main priority and factor in the work and growth that is achieved. I therefore aim to foster a relationship with my clients that cultivates authenticity. Through the relationship, grounded in empathy and compassion, I establish a safe and comfortable environment allowing for honest, genuine feedback, ultimately leading to learning and personal growth. I am supportive and directive, while working collaboratively with the client to target issues, minimize symptoms, increase overall wellness, and improve self understanding. Trained in a variety of approaches, I often incorporate many of them in to my treatment based on the individual. My training and experience includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Depression Care Management, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. These approaches are well suited for the treatment of depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, stress, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and phase of life problems, aiming to teach people to allow for what is happening in the moment without the pressure of trying to change it or fix it, which more often creates increased suffering. They teach us that we do not have to act on every thought and feeling that arises, but we can learn to engage in behaviors that are in line with our values. My approach will often include experiential activities, behavioral experiments, skill building, psycho-education and between session practice. I believe that much of the work done in counseling actually happens between sessions and will therefore check in with you from week to week regarding use of skills, observations of self, and insights gained.

I understand; you've tried everything. Instead of following the traditional medical model of diagnosing and labeling, I meet you where you are with embodied support to help you live a fully integrated life. I blend practices from East and West, neuroscience with spirituality, and movement with introspection. My work focuses on integrating all parts of you—body, mind, and soul—to build healthier relationships, improve your self-esteem, help you relate differently to anxiety and depression, reconnect with purpose and meaning, and come home to your body. I believe in the healing power of embodiment to recover from the hurt you've experienced. I specialize in compassionate, trauma-focused ketamine-assisted therapy to help you live a more present and embodied life. Trauma can manifest as nearly any form of stress held in the nervous system, from autoimmune conditions and chronic pain to anxiety and addiction. Ketamine-assisted therapy is an excellent option if you feel like you've tried everything but still feel stuck. It's a safe and legal therapeutic option for treating symptoms ranging from depression and anxiety to OCD and eating disorders. Ketamine-assisted therapy is a science-backed intervention that heals on a neurobiological level, creating more lasting and transformative change. As a therapist specializing in EMDR and somatic psychology, in addition to ketamine-assisted therapy, my goal is to get you back in your body. I want you to feel relief, not just in sessions, but for the days and weeks that follow. Trauma isn't just "in your head"; it leaves a very real biological imprint on your body, memory, and brain chemistry. Through somatic (ancient Greek for "body") psychotherapy, EMDR, and mindfulness-based practices, I help you find freedom from limiting beliefs, depression, anxiety, and addictive patterns. I offer in-person therapy to Seattle clients and virtual therapy throughout Washington and Colorado.

I am a sex-positive, polyamory-affirming, and kink-informed therapist. I draw from an eclectic knowledge base that includes queer theory, disability justice, anti-racism, intersectionality, and fat liberation. My clinical perspective is influenced by attachment theory, humanistic theory, and systems theory. I have been trained in many evidence-based modalities, such as ACT, CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and others. I do not believe that anyone can truly provide therapy from an objective lens and welcome your questions about how my training and lived experience inform the way we interact. I approach therapy from a relational, strengths-based, and person-centered lens. This means I will tailor our therapeutic work to your specific goals and strengths, allowing you to lead as the expert of your own experiences. I do not incorporate any particular structure into sessions and allow you to guide us to what feels relevant to you in the moment. My clients meet with me at all types of frequencies from twice weekly to once a month. This depends on the intensity of your mental health challenges, my current openings, and your processing style.
