Kaela Pefley
I specialize in working with female students who are struggling with anxiety or stress. Maybe you are noticing burnout and feeling a lack of interest in classes, feeling stressed with upcoming exams, feeling anxious making new friends, or feeling completely overwhelmed by the sorority system at school. College or graduate school is meant to be an experience of self-discovery, but you may find yourself isolating, worrying, anxious, or overwhelmed. The pressure to excel academically, anxiety of moving away from home, the demands of coursework and deadlines, and the challenges of making new friends can all contribute to anxiety and stress and just feeling down. If you are looking to feel in control of your life again and get back to enjoying life, you have come to the right place! As someone who experiences anxiety myself and struggled to get into the groove of college, I I get it! I would love to support you in coping with any anxiety or stress you are currently experiencing to help you feel relief and get back that enjoyment of life! Please reach out today.

College can be exciting, meaningful, and full of possibility. It can also be really hard. Maybe you’re trying to keep up with classes while working, navigating friendships or relationships, thinking about your future, and wondering how everyone else seems to be handling it all. You may look capable from the outside while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of yourself. I work with college students and young adults who tend to put a lot of pressure on themselves. You might overthink your decisions, worry about disappointing people, compare yourself to everyone around you, or have a hard time knowing what you actually want when there are so many expectations about what you should be doing. Therapy can be one place where you don’t have to have everything figured out. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s making things hard right now while also paying attention to the patterns underneath it. We might notice how quickly you become hard on yourself, what happens when someone is disappointed in you, why it’s difficult to slow down, or how easy it is to lose sight of your own needs when you’re focused on everyone else. My approach is somatic, relational, and depth-oriented. That means we’ll talk about what’s happening in your life while also paying attention to your emotions, your body, your relationships, and the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and move through the world. I draw from Somatic Experiencing®, NARM, and psychodynamic therapy, and we’ll move at a pace that gives you room to understand yourself without feeling like you have to get therapy “right,” too. The goal isn’t to give you all the right answers. It’s to help you better understand the patterns you’ve developed, reconnect with what matters to you, and build more trust in yourself as you make decisions about your relationships, your future, and the person you’re becoming. If you’re looking for a space where you can bring the anxiety, uncertainty, relationships, pressure, and everything else you’re trying to figure out, I’d love to connect. I offer free 15-minute consultations to talk through what you're needing support with and for us to see if we might be a good fit to work together.
Solace Therapy
Are you a high achiever who feels disconnected from who you truly are? Do you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, or a deep sense of overwhelm, despite your outward success? Perhaps you’ve been shaped by high expectations, either from your family, culture, or society, and now feel torn between the person you’re supposed to be and the person you really are. I specialize in working with clients like you—ambitious, driven individuals, often children of immigrants, who are navigating the pressure to succeed while grappling with the internal conflict of identity. You may be feeling stuck between honoring your heritage and culture, and carving out a path that feels authentic to you. This can be an exhausting, confusing, and painful process—but it doesn’t have to be done alone. In our work together, I aim to create a warm, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, without judgment or pressure. Together, we can begin to untangle the stories that have shaped you, heal from trauma, and work toward developing a more integrated sense of self—one that aligns with your true values and desires, rather than others' expectations.

"What am I doing with my life?" "What do I want?" "Why do I feel the way I do?" "When will the time come that I feel how I want to feel?" "How do I get there?" These questions and many more like them can really come up as we enter into and move through our young adult years. And they can feel quite overwhelming, especially when we feel we are asking them alone. I partner with young adults to tackle these questions together. I am enthusiastic, I feel deeply, and I believe in the power of humor - these are core to who I am as a person and core to who I am as a therapist. My approach is very interactive; I bring my full self into the room, and invite clients to do the same as we work together to get them to the way of being they are seeking. I am passionate about working with young adult At the beginning of working with someone new, emphasis in placed on getting clear about what it is they are seeking and then collaborating with them to decide the pace and direction we go. Feel free to learn more about me and my work at www.adamcohenmft.com and contact me with any questions or to schedule a complimentary phone consultation to explore working together.

Are you feeling unhappy, isolated, stressed, stuck, or like nothing ever goes right? Do you want to improve your relationships with friends, family, or partners? I strongly believe everyone can benefit from a safe space to process their emotions and struggles weekly with someone outside your immediate support system. It’s daunting to find a therapist who is right for you. I will meet you where you’re at - whether that’s helping you find the words to express yourself or finding the right goals and motivations to move yourself to the next phase of life. I provide psychotherapy services to teens, young adults, and adults of all ages, but I especially enjoy working with college students. I approach therapy from a person-centered and strengths-based perspective. That means I believe you are the expert on yourself; and that with support and guidance, you have the ability to make the changes you want. I believe I can help you to improve your self-awareness, understand and accept patterns from your past, and learn new skills and healthier ways of engaging in the world. Prioritizing healing, growth, and change are lifelong practices that often need a tune-up. I believe transformation requires time, space, patience, and self-compassion. In therapy, I offer a safe and caring relationship that supports you in doing this life-changing work. As women, we are naturally attuned to the needs of those around us. We don’t think twice about nurturing and loving our people - whether they be our own children, parents, friends, or coworkers. And lately, doesn’t it seem like all of our people need us in one way or another? After the year that we’ve had, it’s no wonder that so many of us are running on empty. Whenever you go on a flight, there is a safety video where an oxygen mask comes down for each passenger in an emergency. You are instructed to put it on yourself before you reach over and put it on your child. This order of priorities can apply to all areas of our lives too. You can’t take care of the people you love well until you take care of yourself first. In the therapy room, there is no topic too trivial or complex. I am here to follow where your thoughts and your heart go, and we will discover how it is you have come to feel this way. Awareness is the first step to creating lasting change. Through therapy, I help my clients understand that their perceived shame and struggle are actually badges of honor and courage. No matter your past or your current circumstances, you deserve to experience life richly and fully. You are in the driver’s seat of your mental health and your life. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your journey.
