I am Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have extensive experience with young adults and college-age students who are navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship or school-related challenges. My background includes supporting clients as a career development counselor, guiding them through career exploration, adjusting to college life, and maintaining balance between personal wellness and career success. Iām passionate about helping clients build confidence, manage change, and develop the clarity and resilience they need to move forward in both life and career. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and focused on helping you feel seen, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
Feeling overwhelmed and frustrated by the question 'so what's next after graduation?' Do you feel like you're still trying to figure out who you are, what you like, and just trying to navigate one day at a time? Then, you've come to the right place. I've been in your shoes and I know how hard it is dealing with the pressures from others, while you're just trying to get through your classes and enjoy time with friends. In sessions with me, I strive to offer you a safe space for you to share and process your thoughts, feelings, and current things going on in your life. The therapy space is a space for you, so we will work together to make sure you're getting all the help you need and meeting the goals important to you. And I won't lie sometimes it will be hard fucking work, but I believe you are capable of digging deep and doing that work and I will be there along the way to support, encourage, validate, and at times challenge you.
I am a proud first gen, Salvadoran American and daughter of immigrants. My goal as a therapist is to assist clients to build a more fulfilling life by fostering an understanding of themselves and the complexity of our human emotion. I understand that it can be intimidating to seek support through life's unexpected challenges. I believe that creating an environment of unconditional support, trust, and understanding is crucial to the therapeutic relationship ā As a former hospital social worker, my unique experience lends special insight into the needs of individuals experiencing chronic illness and loss. My current and past work experience provides me with skills and knowledge to journey with our clients. ā I obtained my Bachelor's in Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Human Development and Family Sciences as well as my Masters in Social Work from the University of Houston. I am also fluent in Spanish. ā I draw from these important educational and work experiences to work with clients who are facing life transition issues, conflict in relationships, and psychosocial adjustment to health issues. My approach is rooted in compassion, mutual respect toward each client, and mindfulness of the dignity of each human person. ā Everyone's needs and experiences are different. I will work with our clients to find a therapy style works best for that individual.

This space is yoursāa place where we can talk openly, without judgment, and work together to understand whatās going on and how to move forward in a way that feels right for you. In our first few sessions, weāll get to know each other. Iāll ask some questions to learn about your background and goals, and you can ask me anything about how I work or what to expect from therapy. There's no pressure to share everything all at onceāthis is your process, and weāll go at your pace. My goal is to help you feel safe, heard, and supported.
Life can move fast and feel heavy. Whether youāre feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, lonely, or navigating big changes, itās easy to lose touch with the version of yourself you long to be. Sometimes, our stories feel invisible. Other times, they rise up, asking us to listen. You are welcome here, just as you are. We believe healing starts with compassion. Instead of pushing through with pressure or self-judgment, we offer a gentler wayāone that meets you where you are. Our trauma-informed team is here to support your healing with care, respect, and warmth. Reaching out takes courage.
I am a therapist with 13 years experience who recently relocated to Maryland. I have specialized my work in the medical setting with those with chronic illnesses and have also cared for many in the LGBTQI+ community. I enjoy providing counseling to pre-teens, teens and young adults. I have had the privilege to witness the most vulnerable moments with my clients and then observe their growth, healing, and evolution. I would be honored to play a role in your journey too. The idea of therapy is challenging for some. I focus on meeting my clients at their comfort level and prioritize their personal goals and needs. I utilize evidence-based modalities: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Both of these examine the connections between thoughts, feelings and actions to help individuals make changes in their life. I also have training in: Emotional Freedom Technique, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems I believe that counseling should capitalize on the clientās creativity, imagination, and interests. Therefore, I often encourage artistic expression and the use of physical movement to address depressive symptoms, anxiety, and the challenges of grief and loss. Letās work together to tailor an approach based upon your unique strengths and areas of need. I am only self-pay at this time. I am in the process of being paneled with Carefirst/BCBS (PPO, POS, HMO and Federal plans) and Johns Hopkins Hospital EHP (However, if you have a different insurance plan and it offers out-of-network benefits, you should receive some.)
Our time together will be spent figuring the aspects- emotional, intellectual, sensory-based, and behavioral- of life through out your own story. Growing into learning how to listen to yourself so you can trust what it is you know, and what it is you need will be at the core of each session so that the feelings of stress, overwhelm, anxiousness, depression no longer keep you detached from yourself. The tools I use are done with cultural considerations, and by acknowledging the extra burdens social constructs and systemic environments put on you. I start with listening and being a witness to your story. With your consent, I use therapeutic tools to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with children, teens, adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD). All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to āget it right!ā A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world. Ā I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Stamatis Bogdanos, LPC-S | #64556 in Houston, Tx. If you are under 18 and in need of a resource(s), here is a link to an article that may be able to help you find support: Ā https://www.teenlife.com/blog/mental-health-resources-for-teens/
Through over 20 years of practice I have found that people usually seek therapy because they are experiencing something that is too difficult to bear without additional help and support. Life can seem unjust when bad things happen to good people, or when best efforts are not leading to desired outcomes. These challenges are opportunities for renewal and growth. Especially during a time of crisis or transition, the ability to safely connect and openly share thoughts and feelings, while receiving genuine emotional support, clarifying insights, and effective tools for coping can be truly life changing. This is the gift of therapy. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders (such as OCD, tic disorders, hair pulling, skin picking and hoarding). I use evidence-based treatment models (ERP, HRT, CBT and EMDR). Research tells us that the therapeutic relationship is a critical factor in determining outcomes, so finding a therapist who is right for you is key. Call for a free 15 minute phone consultation so that you can interview me and decide if I'm a good fit.

Life can be hard. Extremely hard. Sometimes you canāt see your way out. Itās normal. When those hard moments in life come, Iām here to see you through to the other side of your pain. Thatās the goal. The other side. I am the owner and lead therapist at Empowered Perspective. I am licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and received my masterās degree in Human Relations (the study of psychology, sociology, and anthropology) from the University of Oklahoma. The program provided a solid foundation in my journey to counseling. Before arriving here, I worked in Corporate America for over 12 years guiding individuals through their careers as a Global Talent Director. Although I was āsuccessfulā by many people's definition, I wasnāt fulfilled. That is when I decided to answer my ācallingā and enter into the counseling profession. I am honored that God chose me to do this work. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families and couples suffering from a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and grief. As your counselor, you will get someone who is authentic, straightforward, down-to-earth, and open-minded. My job is not to judge you or your actions. My job is to listen to you, encourage you, walk beside you, and yes, sometimes challenge your perspective. I work primarily from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Spiritual/Transpersonal Therapy treatment modalities. In simple terms, CBT focuses on how thoughts influence our emotions and behavior. Spiritual Therapy focuses on the body, mind and health of a personās spirit. It puts an emphasis on a personās spiritual path or enlightenment during life. There is more to life than existing and living through the pain; more than being a mother, spouse, friend, employee, daughter, or son. Getting through the challenges and roadblocks can sometimes feel insurmountable and confusing. My goal is to help you see the beauty of life, find meaning, and sustainable joy. When you are ready, I am here to help.
