Hi! I’m Kimberly Carlin, LPC, and I work with women over 18 who want support navigating the ups and downs of life. Between work, relationships, family responsibilities, and personal growth, it’s normal to feel stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to cope. I help women work through: * Anxiety, stress, and burnout * Relationship challenges and setting boundaries * Trauma or emotional abuse * Grief or major life transitions * Body image and disordered eating * Pressure to be “perfect” or meet high expectations * Life transitions such as parenting, career changes, or caregiving responsibilities Here’s what therapy with me looks like: CBT: Helps you spot unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier ones. ACT: Teaches you to accept feelings and focus on what matters most. Somatic Therapy: Uses your body to release stored stress, tension, and anxiety. IFS (Internal Family Systems): Helps you explore different parts of yourself and understand conflicting thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. Inner Child Work: Helps you understand how past experiences shape your feelings today. EMDR: A specialized approach that helps painful memories feel less overwhelming. Christian Counseling and Prayer (optional): For women who desire, therapy can integrate Biblical principles, prayer, and exploring God’s perspective of who you are to guide healing, self-worth, and decision-making. I provide online therapy and am licensed in multiple states, so you can continue care even if you travel, work remotely or move. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel understood, gain clarity, and build tools to navigate life with more confidence, self-compassion, and faith-based guidance if desired. Whether you’re feeling stressed, struggling with relationships, wanting to process trauma, or navigating major life transitions, I’m here to support you. I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to grow when they’re in a space that feels safe and accepting. At the heart of my work is building a genuine, trusting connection with you—because real healing begins when you feel truly seen, heard, understood, and accepted. Together, we’ll create a warm and welcoming space where vulnerability is embraced and self-exploration feels comfortable. Above all, I’m here to hold space for you with kindness and openness, honoring your unique needs, passions, experiences, wisdom, and hopes for the future. Specializations I’m especially passionate about supporting adults who grew up with caregivers who, for various reasons, may not have met their emotional needs.Together, we work to heal from those early experiences, find your true voice, clarify what matters most to you, and create a life that feels authentic, grounded, and free. I work with clients ages 15 and up to navigate challenges related to: Childhood relational trauma, emotionally immature parents, & unmet emotional needs Relationship patterns, boundaries, people-pleasing, & guilt Exploring identity, values, & personal growth Identity diffusion & enmeshment Shame, self-doubt, & indecisiveness Life transitions & emerging adulthood Grief & loss Anxiety, depression, & low self-worth Emotional regulation & distress tolerance Could We be a Good Fit? Clients who tend to do well with me often appreciate a little lightheartedness or humor during our sessions and enjoy putting what we talk about into practice between meetings—sometimes through small homework or weekly goals. Many have found it helpful to bring their creative interests into our work, which helps us build a space where you can feel safe, inspired, and free to be your authentic self. I’ve also noticed that adolescents, young adults, and college students often feel especially comfortable and connected in our time together. Therapeutic Approaches My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with curiosity and work toward making the changes you’d like to see in yourself. For those who resonate with this approach, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support compassionate exploration of your inner parts. I also use a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, honoring the impact of your life experiences and creating a space where all parts of you are welcome. While CBT and IFS are my go-to methods, I like to keep things flexible, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to tailor our work to what feels right for you. My hope is that you find a space in therapy that feels human, welcoming, and uniquely yours. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together in a way that supports your growth. I currently offer teletherapy sessions at River Wards Wellness Collective. I often work with clients who have anxiety or depression about school or work or relationships. They may have relationship problems with friends or romantic partners or struggle with social anxiety or school performance anxiety. Some of my clients are dealing with divorce or are couples trying to work through issues in their relationships including poor communication or affairs.
Equilibria Psychological and Consultation Services’ mission is to help individuals achieve their personal potential and long-term growth by compassionately and respectfully helping clients live in balance.
The stories we believe about ourselves are essential, and yet, they are stories we are often unaware of. You may have decided to seek treatment because you (or someone in your life) noticed something about you or how you live in the world that has been difficult, like feeling disappointed in yourself or others, and this may have impacted things like your schoolwork or your relationships. Whatever the difficulties are, these are themes in your story -- we would work together to make sense of them, and see what we can do about them. The possibilities may include things like psychotherapy (talk therapy) or medications, both of which are treatment options I offer in my psychiatry practice. Because I think it is essential to treat you as a whole person, I am only accepting new patients who are interested in psychotherapy (typically at least weekly), either with me in my practice, or with a therapist with whom I have a working relationship. As a physician (medical doctor) specialized in psychiatry, I draw on years of dedicated training for your treatment; qualifying as a psychiatrist entails, after completion of a bachelor's degree, eight years of full-time medical education, including six years of supervised, direct patient care in a variety of treatment settings. To learn more about my practice or to request a phone call to discuss a consultation visit, please visit my practice website, www.terrafirmapsychiatry.com.
I work with adolescents and adults who struggle with issues related to ADHD, learning problems, anxiety, stress management, and general wellness/lifestyle. Using a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and relational techniques and theories I am able to tailor treatment to your specific needs. My emphasis is on connection, collaboration, and self-care throughout the treatment process. I completed additional training as a yoga teacher, personal trainer, and school psychologist which means I have specialized knowledge of food, exercise, and lifestyle interventions to improve mental health. Understanding that our experiences are shaped by the environments we live in—our communities, culture, and relationships—I take a trauma-informed and relational approach to therapy. My work is grounded in the belief that healing begins when we feel seen, safe, and connected. I aim to create a space where you can explore your emotions, express yourself freely, and begin to reconnect with your body and sense of self. As an art therapist, I believe creativity can be a powerful pathway to understanding and transformation. In our sessions, we might use artmaking, mindfulness, or gentle somatic practices to help you express what words can’t always capture. These creative tools can support regulation, insight, and a deeper connection to your inner world. My practice integrates mindfulness, person-centered, and feminist frameworks, and I work collaboratively with each client to find what feels most supportive. I specialize in working with anxiety, life transitions, women’s issues, and LGBTQ+ concerns, and I strive to provide an affirming space where all identities and experiences are honored. I see therapy as a collaborative and compassionate process—one where we explore not just what feels painful, but also what brings meaning, resilience, and joy. My goal is to help you cultivate a sense of internal safety and confidence as you move toward a more grounded, authentic version of yourself. Outside of my work as a therapist, I find joy in thrifting and antiquing, or getting lost in a good fantasy novel alongside my two cats, Cricket and Jerry. If my approach resonates with you, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. I’d be honored to connect and support you on your healing journey.
