Grit & Grace is more than just a name but a way of life. These words are obviously opposites but can also be interconnected and complementary to each other. In order for therapy to be successful, we need the strength to recognize what is no longer serving us, the balance of being aware of our emotions enough to manage them in a way that is gentle, honest, and wise, and we need to honor our past and present in order to move into the future with grace.

As a therapist, I encourage you to bring the “messiest” parts of yourself into the room during our sessions. I strive to create a safe, yet empowering space for all my clients, especially for those who hold marginalized identities. I let you set the pace of treatment and help you build confidence in your innate abilities to persevere and heal during difficult seasons of life. I also encourage you to provide feedback throughout our time together, so that we can make treatment as impactful and positive as possible. I believe that the most important aspect of our work together involves building a strong therapeutic relationship, so you can also expect a deep interest in you as a person outside of presenting concerns or diagnoses. Feel free to reach out if I sound like a good fit for you and your current needs. Either way, I wish you luck on your healing journey!

Are you ready to start a new path in your life? Or are you feeling weighed down by the heaviness of fatigue, worry, trauma, grief, or the pain of your past? You are not alone. Together we will understand your suffering, draw from your strengths, and develop new ways of coping with life’s challenges. As a therapist, I provide a unique integration of humanistic, experiential constructivist, and mindfulness-based therapies. I am passionate about serving the underserved, particularly the needs of the African American community. As a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, I am also invested in responding to the challenges veterans face while at home and abroad. Aside from being a therapist, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, (anywhere with water!), failed attempts at salsa dancing, chocolate, and church.

I assist in helping my clients find meaning and fulfillment in life by being engaged and by actively guiding you through your unique life challenges. Most of my clients come see me because they just know life could be better. It HAS to be. For many people who walk through my door, their lives aren't shattered, lying breathless in the corner. These people get up every single day and do the thing. But somehow, somewhere, something still feels off. Maybe it's your relationship. Maybe it's you. Maybe you don't know what it is, but life just doesn't seem right. You're not fully happy. Not yet. I help couples, families, and individuals live better. How? By having lived lots of lives, I've developed a unique perspective. One that has allowed me to develop a mental wellness expertise that mixes therapeutic techniques found in human services and combines them with the results-oriented coaching and leadership skills derived from the professional services field. This specific meld of mojo enables me to provide a different kind of service and perspective where other help may have been unsuccessful.
Hi! I’m Annie, and I’m a licensed social worker. I often work with individuals who have experienced trauma. I use a relational & feminist framework to help clients understand the role of relationships, culture, & society throughout their lives, and how those things affect working towards healing and joy. My past experience includes crisis management, survivor advocacy, trauma psychoeducation, supportive counseling with folks who experienced sexual violence during incarceration, mindfulness group work, and community outreach. If you experienced sexual violence in the state of PA, ask me about ways to help cover your costs. I’m a certified sexual assault counselor, and I’m partially trained in EMDR, working towards certification. I have worked extensively with survivors of sexual abuse and complex trauma. I am proficient in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, the neurodiverse community, those who have experienced incarceration, and I work from an anti-diet culture perspective. I’m a person in the world who happens to be a therapist. To me, the most important part of therapy is the genuine human connection we form. I bring humor and authenticity to my practice. Outside of work, I can almost always be found with my nose in a book or finding myself a sweet treat. Let’s get to know each other and see if we are the right match!

Originally from New York City, Rob earned his BA in Psychology and Sociology from Duquesne University and his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on Mental Health. With over eleven years of experience in inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings, he brings a versatile and compassionate approach to therapy. Rob is passionate about supporting adults in the Black and African American community and works from a culturally sensitive, client-centered perspective. He primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and also offers EMDR for clients processing trauma. Rob believes that while we can’t always change our circumstances, we can shift our mindset—and in doing so, transform our lives. He has extensive experience helping clients navigate social injustices, identity challenges, family issues, and life transitions, providing a safe, non-judgmental space to process, heal, and grow.
People are the center of my practice. While I have a wide range of experience and expertise in various techniques, I always take a person-centered approach to therapy. Every individual is unique, and it is important to treat your symptoms, not simply your diagnosis. Sometimes even the most basic and routine challenges of everyday life can seem complex, unpredictable, or even overwhelming. Whether you are suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, or just going through a difficult transition, my goal is to foster a trusting, safe, and confidential environment for you to heal and grow. My philosophy is grounded in self-compassion and connection – that means helping my clients identify their strengths and learn resilience. Together, we can help you navigate life’s struggles and crises, emerging stronger, healthier, and more confident in yourself and your abilities. As a therapist, it is my responsibility to deliver compassionate, safe, and productive therapy that gives people real tools to create sustainable and lasting change in their lives. I believe that people heal most effectively when they feel empowered to regain control of their lives and confidence in themselves. My goal is to help clients create a sense of self-awareness in order to understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
