Therapists for college students near Portland, OR
Hi, I’m Logan, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with nearly a decade of experience in healthcare, and the last two years specializing in psychiatric care. At UpWell, I’m committed to providing high-quality psychiatric care, medication management, and therapeutic services with a compassionate touch. My journey in mental health care is deeply personal. Having faced my own mental health challenges and supported loved ones through theirs, I understand firsthand the importance of empathy and understanding in treatment. This personal insight fuels my approach to care, especially for clients in the neuro-diverse community. I believe in creating a safe, supportive environment for those who may have had negative experiences with healthcare in the past. My goal is to offer a unique, compassionate approach to mental health care that encourages and supports every individual on their path to wellness. Thank you for considering UpWell as a partner in your mental health journey. I look forward to the opportunity to work together.

I find I am most helpful working with individual transition age youth and adults seeking help with bipolar and mood disorders, identity exploration, setting boundaries and navigating relationships, learning coping skills, making sense of traumatic experiences, and unpacking privilege and learning to be a better ally. I am comfortable and knowledgeable about topics relating to sex and sexuality, gender affirmation, sex positivity, poly/non-monogamy, and intersections of identity. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been practicing therapy since 2015 and have been in social services for over 15 years, serving youth and adults experiencing legal consequences, houselessness, and severe mental illness in both inpatient and outpatient settings. My style tends to be curious, nonjudgmental and empathic, and I take a relational and collaborative approach. You are going to be putting in hard work and it is my job to be a good guide by offering insights, direction, and skill building. I am trained primarily in narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy. I use an anti-oppressive, person centered, and trauma-informed framework. I strive to be culturally sensitive, anti-racist and queer/LGBTQIA+ affirming. I also know that I am not perfect, and I will ask for your honest feedback throughout the therapy process so that I can adjust and adapt my approach to best fit your needs. I am a queer [white cis male] person and have friends and family members with a lovely mix of intersecting identities. I started struggling with my identity, mental illness and legal run ins as a teenager, which led into a career path as a peer advocate, mentor, and mental health provider. I've done a lot of work on myself that I find valuable to my practice. While I believe my personal experience gives me knowledge, insight, and empathy, I also know that everyone has their own unique experiences; I am open to sharing parts of my story with you when it is helpful, whether that is to offer validation, challenge stigma, or to just get to know each other better. A bit more about me: I am a dog dad, artist, and gaymer. My recharging activities include chilling at the dog park, traveling and backpacking with friends, sketching, reading comic books and cooking.

My experience includes extensive work with school-aged populations, those with serious and persistent mental illness, dual diagnoses, couples, and addiction issues. My past clients have described me as compassionate, grounding, and calming. It is my hope that you find a therapist who feels like a good fit too. If you feel ready for change, please reach out. Have you ever had a moment, conversation, or even a look that gave made you feel felt? That felt sense of connection is what Resonance, LLC is based on. Too often, we are forced to stay on the surface level or simply don't know how to connect on a more meaningful level--perhaps because we were taught to; perhaps because of trauma; or maybe because we are afraid someone will abandon/make fun of/misunderstand us. Resonance is about feeling accompanied, being seen, heard, and mostly, felt, throughout the healing process.
Whether you are struggling with feelings such as sadness, guilt, anger, grief, disappointment, loneliness, or inner-conflict, as your therapist, I will collaborate with you using an authentic, kind, and skilled approach. We will start with a comprehensive evaluation of your needs and discuss what brings you to therapy. Together, we will establish goals and develop a plan that will support your strengths, resources, and encourage a path toward success. The therapeutic relationship can provide a safe space to increase self-awareness and recognize behaviors and relationship patterns that can make you feel stuck. Together, we will address your concerns from a holistic perspective with the intention of fostering resilience, empowerment, and positive change.
During a therapy session, I am an active participant in the process, bringing genuine presence, empathy, and validation. As my client, I view you as the expert of your own experience. My role is collaborator in the therapy process, listening for themes and patterns, asking questions to encourage self-exploration, and (with curiosity, respect, and perhaps some humor) challenging unhelpful or "stuck" patterns. Trauma, loss, life transitions, dysfunctional relationships, and other stressors can cause emotional pain that is hard to manage alone and can block self-understanding. Developing compassion and insight about yourself and your experiences is the first step in: (1) accepting yourself as you are now, and (2) trying new ways of being. My goal for our work together is to progress towards respect and acceptance of the experiences you have had and the person you are now, while also enhancing self-awareness and coping styles in a way that empowers you to find ever more ease and satisfaction in your life.
Hi, I’m Jess and I am so glad you are here. Sometimes there are seasons in our lives where we feel stuck or lost, like we don’t measure up to the standards set around us. We may find ourselves struggling in our relationships, or even in old patterns of behavior we can’t seem to break. If you find yourself in this space today, I am here to help. I am honored to walk alongside clients as a compassionate listener and guide and believe in a strengths-based and collaborative approach to healing. In my work as a therapist, I utilize narrative therapy in order to assist clients in discovering how past and present experiences have shaped the story of their lives. I am also a HAES-aligned practitioner with years of experience in working with individuals struggling with eating disorders. I believe that we are wildly capable of healing and creating more true and beautiful stories for our lives- so let's get started.
I offer telehealth appointments both in Oregon and Massachusetts.
