I understand the unique needs and stressors of college and university settings - especially for non-trad and grad students. My goal is to create a safe space in which you feel authentically seen and heard. Your values will inform our sessions as we work to better understand you, the context of your life, and what you need to heal, grow, or change. I’d like to be on your team. I can help you: Build confidence Cope with stress and self doubt Prioritize your own needs and continue to show up in all of the areas of your life Feel like you are living life to your full potential If you have an idea of what you want in life, but don’t know how to get there, we can explore deeper insights into yourself and your experiences as you make change or adjust to the changes that are happening around you.
Hello, I have about a decade of experience in the counseling field where I have performed roles as a mental health counselor, vocational rehabilitation counselor, and mobile crisis therapist; therefore, I can assist anyone, no matter the mental health issues, even though trauma is my specialty area. I believe we all have a superpower and mine is to help those who have lost their smile find it again! Sending love and good vibes your way
What haven't you said? And what might change if you said it? Some things only become known and shift under the right conditions. I'm Andrew, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Ashland, OR, remote across OR, MD, and NY. I've been a therapist for 15 years. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, relationship snags, troublesome patterns, career and purpose questions, and the more diffuse sense that something is off. I work with students and graduate students sorting out what it means to become themselves while meeting everyone else's expectations, and with medical students and residents under the particular pressures of clinical training. I've also spent years with addiction, trauma, and more acute struggles. My training is psychoanalytic, but in practice I'm more interested in you than in applying any of it to you. I'm not here to fit you into a framework or hand you formulas for how to be. Together we explore what matters, what repeats, what gets avoided, what happens between us. You come to know what's best. That stays with you anywhere. The first conversation is a brief phone call, fifteen or twenty minutes, to talk about what brought you in and whether we're a fit. Not sure if therapy is for you? That's a fine place to start. Reach out.
As a therapist, I believe that we are capable of many things. We have resources within ourselves to move through the difficulties that come with life. I view my approach to therapy as client-centered, strengths-based, intersectional feminist, neurodivergent-affirming, and fat liberationist. As a client-centered therapist, I will focus on your therapeutic goals and the best way to achieve them using your strengths. I view my work as walking beside you on your journey rather than leading the way. As a person with multiple minoritized identities, I do my best to understand and empathize with the experiences of my clients. I also work with many communities that are often marginalized. I consider myself to be sex positive (including sex work) and a fat liberationist. I am also kink-experienced and work with non-monogamous/polyamorous relationships. Clients experience me as warm, encouraging, and supportive. My style in the therapy room is very conversational and inviting. You can expect me to show up congruently and authentically, so you even might catch me laughing or crying with you.
My name is Kaci Schmitt (she/her). I am happy and honored to be able to offer counseling and therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults in Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, as well as throughout the states of Oregon and Washington for teletherapy. I truly enjoy working with clients who are looking to process various experiences, transitions, and challenges in their lives, as well as gain knowledge, trust, and compassion for themselves and deepen their capacity for mental and emotional wellness. There are times in life where we can use an empathic, nonjudgmental therapist who can be present with us as we explore our challenges and develop insight. In addition to deeply listening to you, I will hold space for your stories, history, and cultural experiences, as well as encourage you to hold compassion and curiosity for your unique challenges. I specialize in working with teens and adults with anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss. Many of the clients I work with are highly sensitive persons (HSPs) and looking for ways to cultivate wellness in their lives. I also frequently work with people in the helping fields who are experiencing burnout and exhaustion, who are ready to explore ways to process vicarious and secondary trauma and prioritize true self-care. I truly love the work I do. I began my practice because I believe that we all have the capacity to grow, heal, and transform, and that we all have insight that we can develop and learn to trust. I also believe that working through our challenges with self-compassion and understanding can help us move from pain and frustration to peace and autonomy. We are all capable of creating meaningful lives of peace. I deeply believe that we all have an innate capacity to heal and that each person is their own best resource and source of wisdom, and that we often need a little help allowing ourselves to access and trust our intuition. We all have many possible selves, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, who others are, and how life works can help or hurt our chances at being the self we want to be. I also believe that there must be space in therapy to process the things about life that are hard, painful, exhausting, and often heartbreaking, all while cultivating a gentler, more compassionate, resilient way of being in this world. Therapy allows us the opportunity to develop self-awareness and explore action steps that we can take to improve our wellbeing. I respect the process it takes to discover new things about ourselves and integrate what we have learned into our lives, and I encourage my clients to do so with great care for themselves. I consider it a privilege to be a collaborative partner in the healing and transformation process.

I feel incredibly privileged to have the opportunity to work with individuals, couples and families during times of increased stress and transition. My approach is strengths-based, direct, and tailored to meet the needs of each client. By creating an atmosphere of respect and safety, I encourage my clients to explore and make sense out of the challenges they are facing and assist them in creating a clear path to improvement. Everyone comes to therapy with different experiences, needs, and objectives. It is my goal to establish a therapeutic relationship that both challenges and encourages my clients to meet their goals in therapy, and in life.
Currently accepting new clients. I offer an affirming space for individuals and couples to explore identity, relationships, and emotional challenges. I'm trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and certified in EMDR, integrating both to support healing from trauma, deepen self-understanding, and foster authentic connections. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating multigenerational trauma, anxiety, identity development, and life transitions. I especially enjoy supporting people as they unlearn old patterns, build healthier relationships, and create lives that feel more aligned and fulfilling. My approach is centered on helping you express yourself openly and without judgment. Whether you're processing trauma, exploring your identity, or seeking healthier relationships, I offer a collaborative, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA+ affirming space to move toward self-acceptance, resilience, and meaningful change. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and reaching out is a brave first step. If any part of this resonates with you, I would be honored to connect and see how I can support you in the ways that matter most.

Welcome to restoring Hope counseling. I believe that everyone has the ability to grow and heal. As humans, we need connection and support through our journey. The purpose of therapy is to provide you with the opportunity to explore a variety of concerns related to your current situation. I work with clients through a collaborative therapeutic relationship that fosters acceptance, connection, and hope. Our past does not define us, but it does inform who we are today. I Specialized an empowering clients to find healing and renewal as you explore dynamics of the past and how they interact with the present. My practice consists of working with adults and adolescents dealing with a variety of issues including, but not limited to, relationship concerns, divorce, parenting issues, childhood abuse, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and trauma. I utilize an integrative, attachment based, trauma informed, emotion-focused, experiential, relational model with an emphasis on mindfulness and self- compassion. I specialize in empowering clients to find healing and renewal by exploring the dynamics of the past and how they influence present thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.
Clients who come to my practice are going through life transitions - adjustments to school and moving, relationship concerns, and making life decisions. In addition to traditional therapy practices, I also practice (and teach) ecotherapy - a method of treatment that includes nature in the process. For some people this means we hold our sessions outdoors. For others, we include 'nature prescriptions' in their work outside of the office appointment. These methods are especially helpful for those who love the outdoors, and for clients struggling with depression and anxiety issues.
Trinette, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), emphasizes collaboration with her patients in treating psychiatric disorders and managing medications. She partners with them, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and supportive and talk therapy to meet their unique needs. Together, they explore CBT techniques, where Trinette guides patients to identify and reframe distorted thoughts—say, tackling anxiety-driven fears—co-creating strategies that empower them to cope. In MI, she works alongside patients, sparking their motivation to embrace treatment plans, like sticking to meds or therapy for depression, ensuring their voice drives the process. Through supportive talk therapy, Trinette and her patients jointly unpack emotions, building trust as they process challenges like trauma, reinforcing their resilience as a team. In medication management, collaboration shines: Trinette assesses symptoms and histories with patient input, designing psychopharmacological plans together. She explains options—perhaps adjusting an antipsychotic for bipolar disorder—while they monitor effects and tweak dosages as a unit, balancing efficacy and comfort. For instance, a patient with OCD might co-develop a plan blending CBT for obsessions and a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, refining it based on shared feedback. This partnership fosters ownership, as patients feel heard and respected. By merging these therapies with tailored medication, Trinette and her patients collaboratively address mind and body, paving the way for sustainable mental wellness through mutual effort and understanding.
