Dr. S. Jenny Klein is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides mental health services to individuals seeking psychotherapy to help navigate life stressors and transitions. Specializing in anxiety, depression, and burnout, Dr. Klein integrates cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic practices to help her clients gain insight, create change, and improve well-being.
Psychotherapy can benefit people facing a range of challenges. Currently, I see adults and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship or interpersonal difficulties, and sometimes with health/illness issues. I see many people experiencing distress and other symptoms associated with life transitions such as adolescence, marriage, new parenthood or challenges in family planning, divorce, professional or personal role redefinition, retirement, and aging. I provide counseling to individuals and couples struggling with the shifting roles and demands of these complicated times. Therapy is a collaboration. I bring a warm, curious, nonjudgmental nature, an appreciation for individual differences, spontaneity and value of humor. Together, we explore patterns, thoughts, and feelings from the past and present. Clients begin therapy not only with identified concerns but also with resources that can be harnessed for lasting change. I use an active, contemporary approach to psychotherapy. I integrate psychodynamic, relational and cognitive-behavioral models and, where appropriate, health psychology, tailoring my work to each individual and their circumstances. My goal is to help people find relief from their suffering and to discover new ways of experiencing life to its fullest.

I practice online, utilizing HIPAA compliant videoconferencing software. My clients are people seeking help with depression, anxiety, family conflict, relationship issues and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and supportive, yet also challenging. Our task is to unpack the issues that are being brought up in our sessions and use them to facilitate growth and change. The relationship we develop is the most important thing to me.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive, empathetic and non-judgmental space to help people explore and overcome life's challenges while feeling seen and heard. I highly value building a strong therapeutic alliance based in authenticity, understanding, and respect as a foundation to the therapeutic process. I have experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD/complex trauma, interpersonal relationship difficulties, life changes and transitions, and other life stressors. I acknowledge the courage it takes to seek help and the work it takes to make meaningful changes. “I want to feel happier and less depressed.” “We would like to improve our relationship.” “I would like to feel calmer and more in control, in spite of the stress, loss and trauma I have experienced.” “We want to help our children cope with our divorce.” “We need to figure out how we are going to live as a divorced family.” These are some of the most frequent goals of my clients as we work together. Many of the stresses and conflicts my clients face can be due to life’s experiences and losses or can come from within. Stress and conflict can lead to disintegration of relationships with our partners and our children, and even in how we view ourselves. Strengthening coping skills, emotional connection and intimacy can help repair fractures, increase compassionate understanding, and build closeness. Focusing on positive growth, shifting well-engrained patterns, and building greater self-acceptance can create lasting change and happiness. As a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience, I help adults, couples and families, by integrating many different therapeutic approaches to best fit my clients’ needs.

Too much stress can be overwhelming and will affect our concentration, stamina, and clarity of mind. The very nature of trauma is the experience of too much, a feeling of being overwhelmed. My specialty is in Creativity and Trauma and how one informs the other. This is not easy work, but it can be fun. We use what is called a Bottom Up approach, in combination with a Top Down. What this means is we learn to tune into our body brain and not just our head brain. As a Creative Arts psychotherapist and trauma specialist I've discovered ways to work that help you heal, feel better, and help you make more sense out of your life. When we meet first we find out what is going on, what has gone on, and how we want to use our time together. We can continue to talk; we may include some of the modalities in which I am trained (Art Therapy, EMDR...). It depends on what you are most comfortable with, and fits your particular issues and concerns Please know I am exclusively working online

Are you the go-to person at school, at home, and with friends? You might even feel resentful sometimes - you do so much for others, but you're not getting that same care back from them. And that only makes you feel "selfish" and more guilty! Helping people break free from overworking & resentment is my passion. Many of my clients are people who have partners, friends, or family members living with alcoholism/substance use disorders, mental health concerns, and chronic health issues. You don't have to handle this alone, and you can feel more empowered, connected, and at peace in your life. I offer both psychotherapy and career coaching for my clients. We have room to explore how your past experiences have shaped you, examine the systemic barriers you are facing, build on your strengths and skills, and focus on specific action steps you can take to make changes in your life now. My style is warm, interactive, and practical, focused on helping you gain self-compassion & confidence. If you'd like to talk more, please email me to schedule a free phone consultation. I'd love to hear from you!

Adolescence and adulthood can be exciting and overwhelming. Navigating academic pressures, identity exploration, relationship challenges, or major life transitions can be daunting to tackle on your own. I specialize in supporting adolescents, young adults, and their families as they face anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, and the stress of achievement and belonging. My experience working as an assistant dean of admission at Princeton University, coupled with my counseling experience at Princeton’s counseling and psychological center, and working in an independent K-12 school, has informed my deep understanding of the pressures students and families face in academic, social, and developmental spaces. In therapy, we’ll explore moments of vulnerability and discomfort that can contribute to self-doubt and isolation. I work collaboratively with individuals and families to uncover ways to strengthen communication and bring clarity to relational dynamics. My goal is to create an affirming space rooted in empathy and cultural humility, where you develop tools towards empowerment and rediscover your authentic self. I take an integrative and trauma-informed approach, grounded in person-centered, culturally responsive, and strength-based care. I draw from CBT with a multicultural and feminist lens, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who may be navigating their gender and sexuality, cultural, and intersectional identities. Whether you're exploring therapy for the first time or continuing your journey, I am committed to making mental health care approachable and welcoming for everyone.
