Students who come to work with me often share some things in common: -They're high-achievers. Driven, capable, and holding it together on the outside, but quietly exhausted, burned out, or feeling like something's missing on the inside. -They might be navigating anxiety or OCD, going through a major life transition, or questioning their purpose and what comes next. They may be working through shifts in their relationships, with a partner, with their parents, or with themselves. -Many have never asked for help before. They're used to being the one who has it together, and reaching out takes real courage for them. If any of that sounds familiar, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation and let's get started together :)

I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and school/college related issues, such as relationships, self image/concept, academics, and life transitions. I use a culturally informed, client-centered perspective when working with people to honor the way in which individuals' unique experiences have shaped them. I aim to provide a safe and genuine environment, where thoughts and concerns can be discussed confidentially. My experience as a school counselor has instilled my passion for helping students and families navigate the many challenges that are faced in and outside of the school setting. I partner with families, schools, healthcare providers, and other community resources to make informed treatment plan decisions and goals. As an advocate for holistic healing and growing, I also offer a yoga teaching informed perspective to support the mind and body connection in the counseling process. This is particularly useful when stress is an issue. Counseling can offer ideas and skills for working through everyday challenges in a more strategic way.

If you've ever felt caught between worlds, or like your path hasn't quite followed the expected script, I get it — I've lived that too. I work with individuals of all ages who struggle with self-criticism, people-pleasing, and difficulty asserting their needs in relationships or life decisions. Working primarily from a psychodynamic approach, I help clients explore the deeper patterns and early experiences that shape their present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we'll investigate unexamined beliefs and influences that may be holding you back from living a life more fully like your own.

I'm a clinical psychologist (PhD 1994, U Michigan) with 30 years experience meeting with adolescents, adults from 18-90, and couples. My doctoral research focused on loss and the impact of parental divorce. During my 25 years here I've met with many Cornell students, undergrads and grads. I make use of various approaches (psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive-behavioral), depending on what makes most sense. Family difficulties, romantic relationships, stress of all sorts, procrastination, and being 'stuck' completing academic work are common situations for which I've provided help.

Rather then offering quick fixes, I work alongside you to better understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, even if at times it is hard to hear.

The ancient rationale for psychotherapy in three quotations: 1) ''He who cannot describe the problem will never find the solution to the problem'' - Confucious (551-479 BCE); 2) ''The unexamined life is not livable for a human being'' (paraphrased as, ''The unexamined life is not worth living'') - Socrates, in Plato's ''Apology'' (ca 360 BCE); 3) ''Whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.'' - Patrick Henry (1739-1799)

The college years are a time of self discovery and challenge. Opening yourself up to new people, experiences and ways of thinking can be both invigorating and daunting. Being away from the known can feel overwhelming. What I can offer you is an opportunity to explore underlying patterns of thought, behavior and communication that may inhibit your ability to meet your own expectations of yourself during this unique time in your life. Together we will work to identify and overcome the obstacles that have interfered with your ability to resolve distressing issues. Together we will calm your anxious mind, alleviate symptoms of depression, increase self-awareness, identify strengths and empower you to move your life in a more positive direction.

Hello! I'm so glad you're taking this step for your mental health. I went to the therapy for the first time while attending college (at USC too!), and it was pivotal for me. I really value working with college students, and genuinely appreciate how much you have to do deal with. Maybe you're struggling with transitions - adjusting to the start of college, or facing the daunting landscape post-graduation. Maybe you can feel all the pressures mounting to the point where you feel paralyzed and burnt out and confused. Maybe you'd like for just one thing - anything - to be taken off your plate, or for the load to be shared somehow. Maybe you're even trying to figure yourself out beyond the story that's been your life so far. I'd like to help make things seem clearer, or kinder, or safer, and I think we can do it together. I offer 45-minute sessions, as well as longer 90-minute sessions, to fit what you might need best. I also offer letters for medical transition, disability, ESA, and can complete return to school forms.

It is both normal for us humans to get stuck, scared, or in our own way and also to need space and support to understand the cause of our struggles, face our fears, make changes, and grow. My goal as a therapist is to use our combined wisdom (your knowledge of yourself and your life, my experience and expertise), and sometimes that of my therapy dog Bella, to explore your concerns, increase awareness, insight, and self-compassion, identify options for change, and understand and respect what you choose to do as a result of this process. I have over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist and specifically working with university students (and staff), international persons, and musicians/performers.

Great to meet you! I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I earned my Doctorate in Nursing from Hofstra University. My path in healthcare has taken me through both inpatient and outpatient settings, where I’ve supported people during some of their most vulnerable moments. These experiences shaped how I practice today with empathy, patience, and a deep respect for each person’s story. As a Black provider, I understand the importance of feeling seen, heard, and culturally understood in mental health care. I recognize that many individuals, especially within underserved and minority communities, may face unique challenges, stigma, or barriers when seeking support. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and free to be yourself without judgment.I work with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, as well as prenatal and postpartum mental health. I understand that mental health can feel especially overwhelming during life transitions, including pregnancy and postpartum, and I aim to meet you with compassion and understanding. When we work together, my focus is on truly listening, not just treating symptoms, but helping you make sense of what you’re experiencing. I believe in explaining things clearly, collaborating on a plan that feels right for you, and making sure you feel supported every step of the way. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, empowered, and more in control of your mental health. My approach to therapy In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but more importantly, I focus on meeting you where you are. In our first session, we’ll take the time to talk through what brought you in, what you’ve been dealing with, and what you’re hoping to feel or change. There’s no pressure just a space for you to be open and heard. As we work together, we’ll gently explore how your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are connected. I’ll help you notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck and give you simple, practical tools to challenge negative thoughts and manage overwhelming emotions. My goal is to make this process feel supportive and empowering, so you leave with skills you can actually use in your day-to-day life. What you can expect from me I take the time to really get to know you, not just your symptoms, but your story, your experiences, and what you’ve been through. I understand that everyone’s journey is different, and I approach care with that in mind, especially when it comes to stress, trauma, and life’s challenges. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I show up with patience, warmth, and honesty, and I take the time to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. I want you to feel safe, supported, and confident in your care every step of the way

Reaching out for support can be hard, but you are not alone. Everyone has experienced their own life journey which can involve grief/loss, relational ruptures, parenting struggles or trauma. Sometimes this journey can leave adults in a place where it is hard to find the motivation to complete everyday tasks, manage life stress or have patience with our loved ones. This can be true for children too, which may cause them to struggle in school, have emotional outbursts or display signs of anxiety. No matter what is bringing you, your child, or family to this moment in time, I am honored to be a part of your journey. With 7+ years of experience working with adults, teens, children and infants I am well versed in several different therapeutic techniques that can be adapted to fit each person’s needs. In addition to being a clinical social worker, I am also a Registered Play Therapist and have extensive training in providing Infant/Child-Parent Psychotheray. It is crucial to healing to find a therapist that is the right fit. I believe that meaningful change comes from having a safe space where you can bring your true and authentic self without judgement; this is true for both adults and children. My goal is not to have the answers but to partner with you through the journey of healing and discovering yourself.
