Emma is a clinical trainee pursuing her Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University, with a specialization in LGBTQ+ Health, Education, and Social Services. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, affirming space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. Emma works with children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, identity exploration, family and relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and emotional regulation. She also has a strong interest in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals as they explore their identities and navigate personal, social, and academic challenges. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also drawing from cognitive-behavioral and insight-oriented approaches. Emma believes that therapy is about helping people better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, and build a life that aligns with their values. Through her experience supporting social-emotional development in school settings, Emma understands the unique pressures that students and young people face. She works collaboratively with clients to explore patterns, build self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and navigate challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion. Emma strives to create a therapeutic relationship that feels genuine, supportive, and empowering, where clients can show up as themselves and work toward meaningful growth and change.
Many of the clients I work best with are international students navigating life far from home—often balancing academic pressure, cultural adjustment, and questions of identity and belonging, all while holding emotions they may not feel safe expressing elsewhere. They may appear high-functioning on the outside, yet feel disconnected, lonely, or uncertain inside. Our work together offers a space to slow down, make sense of what they’re carrying, and reconnect with parts of themselves that have been silenced or split across languages, cultures, or expectations.
Hi, I’m Kelsey (she/her). As a psychotherapist, I encourage open communication and reflection, creating a space where we can navigate your unique experiences, including anxiety, relationship patterns, self-exploration, disordered eating, obsessive thoughts, family dynamics, and life transitions. With a foundation in a relational approach, I view the therapeutic relationship as an essential tool for exploring relational patterns, attachment, and opportunities for healing and change. I have a passion for supporting individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community and warmly welcome clients of all identities, recognizing how gender, race, sexuality, and privilege shape our mental health and experiences. My approach is holistic, trauma-focused and person-centered, drawing from Psychodynamic Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) Model, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic work. I’m looking forward to getting to know you as we work together.
My name is Zoe, and I am a Mental Health Counseling trainee at Taproot Therapy in NYC. I am passionate about providing culturally sensitive and neurodivergent-affirming mental health care. I believe that my clients are the experts of their own lives, and with my support, we can explore their identities, build self-esteem, and create a life narrative you are proud of. Therapy is a collaborative process, where you will experience transparency in our working relationship. If you are unsure of what your goals are, we can create both long term and short term goals together that work for you. This time is for you and I am happy that you are taking this step.
My name is Scott Graybow. I am a psychotherapist with over 15 years of clinical experience and extensive post-graduate training. I welcome the opportunity to help you work on the issues that bring you to therapy. I understand therapy to be a cooperative effort in which we work together to help you engage with your mind, your environment, and your relationships. Therapy is pragmatic yet deeply meaningful; we simultaneously focus on immediate problems and opportunities for long-term growth. Throughout our work together, I strive to offer help that resonates with your individual needs and preferences. I work with young adults, adults, seniors, and couples. People who work with me are often seeking help for depression, anxiety, trauma, sexuality/intimacy, LGBTQ issues, self-esteem, religion/spirituality, work/life balance, men's issues, and the emotional impact of navigating challenging life transitions. As your therapist, I work to help you understand yourself so you can grow, be more effective, and cope better with the problems that bring you to therapy. I earned a PhD at the CUNY Graduate Center and an MSW from Columbia University. I completed postgraduate psychotherapy training at the Psychoanalytic Training Institute of the Contemporary Freudian Society. Besides private practice, I’ve worked as a therapist at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Washington Square Inst., and Montefiore Medical Center. I also have experience teaching clinical practice classes to graduate-level social work students and publishing/presenting peer reviewed articles about psychotherapy and other mental health topics.
I offer a compassionate and supportive therapeutic space where clients can safely explore all aspects of themselves. While healing is ultimately a personal process, working with an attuned and understanding therapist can provide the containment and trust needed for meaningful change. I support individuals seeking therapy for emotional healing, self-understanding, and personal growth, helping clients gently engage with experiences that may feel difficult to face alone. My integrative approach draws on psychoanalytic psychotherapy, alongside somatic and mindfulness-based practices. I support individuals who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or disconnected from themselves or others. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, cultural identity challenges, life transitions, and the lasting impact of past experiences. I believe meaningful therapy emerges through a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, respect, and genuine curiosity. My work supports clients in moving beyond survival patterns toward greater emotional freedom, resilience, and a more connected way of living.
We are a group of experienced psychologists who use evidence-based treatments to support anxiety, mood disorders, relationship issues and more. We use relational work as well as CBT/DBT, mindfulness, ACT and EMDR. Our psychologists, Dr. Heidi Cox, Dr. Alejandra Feliz, and Dr. Sarah Davidson and Dr. Michelle Sidhom are experienced in treating college aged clients. We are LGBTQ+ and HAES-allied. We are in person in Union Square and Park Slope and also have virtual appointments available now.
I believe that physical and emotional safety and connection within a therapeutic relationship can help clients access and heal their relationships with themselves and others. For this reason, I deeply value the relationship I form with clients. I offer support with empathy and curiosity, as you move through old feelings, bring attention to your present experience, and build trust within yourself. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, with the goal of reducing feelings of shame and self-judgement. I will reflect and validate your experience, notice what might be happening in the moment, and encourage self-reflection. Trauma can block our ability to heal, and I have deep grounding in approaches that create a holding environment, gently and gradually building safety and trust. I can support you as you increase your capacity to heal, through sharing and corrective experience, so that you can experience more regulation and joy in the present. I work with adults and adolescents. Some of the issues I work with are anxiety, depression, and life transitions, as well as grief and loss. I’m an LGBTQ-affirming clinician and have experience working with issues particular to LGBTQ+ folks. I have extensive training and experience in developmental trauma treatment and attachment-oriented approaches. I have training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and somatic approaches such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I’ve also been a hospice volunteer, and completed trainings in grief counseling and end-of-life doula work. Other areas I’ve trained in are cultural humility, working with shame, treatment strategies for habits and addictions, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and psychedelic therapy for end-of-life anxiety and palliative care. I graduated with a BA in English from Barnard College, an MS.Ed. in Infant and Family Development and Early Intervention/Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College, and an MS.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Hunter College. I have over 15 years’ experience as a trauma-informed, early childhood special educator and mental health consultant. It would be an honor to connect with and bear witness to your process.

Seeking care is a vulnerable experience, particularly during a season of life defined by constant transition. Whether you are navigating the acute pressures of a demanding program, processing a life-changing event, or grappling with an elusive sense of discontent while everyone else seems to have "figured it out," you don’t have to carry that weight in isolation. Much of our suffering derives from inner conflicts between different parts of ourselves: the part that feels driven to achieve versus the part that is profoundly exhausted; the part that seeks independence versus the part that still feels small and uncertain. Often, these tender parts stay hidden beneath the surface of academic rigor and social performance. In the high-pressure environment of college and graduate school, it is easy to feel siloed—locked within your own mind and the deepest, most quiet anxieties of your life. My approach offers you the freedom and flexibility to examine these various facets of yourself. Together, we will work toward a greater self-understanding that allows you to move through your studies and your life with a renewed sense of fulfillment and agency.
Welcome! Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need someone to talk to, you're not alone. I’m Dr. Shchupak, a licensed clinical psychologist with years of experience providing therapy and evaluations. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions/stress, learning difficulties, behavioral or parenting struggles, relationship issues, and trauma. I also offer neuropsychological testing to obtain diagnostic clarity (e.g., Autism, ADHD, learning issues, etc.), as well as recommendations for school accommodations and treatment planning. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based techniques like CBT, tailored to each client’s needs. I aim to create a space that feels safe and supportive, where we can focus on what matters most to you—whether that means structured guidance or space to explore at your own pace. Throughout therapy, you’ll gain insight into your thought patterns, how they influence your emotions and behaviors, and practice new ways of thinking. We’ll focus on practical tools you can use in daily life to create real, lasting change—helping you build confidence, resilience, and momentum forward. We'll also incorporate metaphors and humor!
NYCP offers virtual individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy. Our team specializes in anxiety including panic and OCD, Borderline Personality Disorder, depression, trauma, and DBT.
I view the therapeutic relationship as similar to canoeing - it requires you to provide the steering, while I supply the momentum, and motivation and commitment from both of us to get to the destination. In our work together, I believe in giving you space to explore your story, as it was, as it is, as you want it to be, in a safe, supportive, empowering way that will, in time, allow you to feel confident and secure within your mind, body, and relationships. Within my practice, I utilize eco-therapy as a means to build an objective, curious, and comfortable relationship with the physical world around us, in order to practice building that same relationship within ourselves and with the people around us. It can feel so easy to get swept up in judgemental, shame-based thoughts, creating false perceptions, emotional pain and isolation. And yet, in the same way we prepare for cold winter nights or sweltering summer heat, so too can we weather the storms of our social and emotional worlds. To orient our work towards achieving your therapeutic goals, I work with Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, existential therapy, somatic therapy, animal therapy, ecotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, CBT and mindfulness practices. Utilizing this interdisciplinary blend we can identify and work through the obstacles to then find ways to move forward and love yourself into creating your ideal reality. I accept individuals, couples and families of all genders, identities, religions, and backgrounds. With a client-centered approach I believe you are the greatest expert of your own life, and in order to effectively row this canoe I ask for trust, honesty, commitment, curiosity, and engagement, so I, in return, will provide compassion, patience, knowledge, and reflection.

As a pre-licensed mental health counselor with three years of experience, I help neurodiverse adolescents and young adults navigate struggles with executive functioning, emotional regulation, life transitions, grief, interpersonal communication, and identity exploration. I love working with patients who are curious about their behaviors and want to learn more about themselves as they navigate their personal mental health journey. My hope is to be an extension of your support system as you move through life’s natural transitions, finding healthier ways to express yourself while offering unconditional positive regard, empathy, and a listening ear. If you feel like this resonates with you, please reach out so we can chat further! When working with younger populations, I integrate play and expressive arts therapies into my sessions. For older populations, I use aspects of Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), allowing patients to have a say in personalizing their space and treatment goals. I take a fluid and ever-changing approach to therapy as I learn new skills and modalities to share, and to better customize care to each person’s unique story and needs. In the first few sessions, we collaboratively set treatment goals and work together to find the most impactful modalities to use. Whether this includes solution-focused activities or meaningful conversations to better process life events, the goal is to give you a space to be authentically yourself with the ability to comfortably share feedback and tailor sessions to better curate your healing journey. I was drawn to the mental health field at a young age through my own struggles to find my voice and better advocate for myself. As a neurodivergent clinician, I empathize with the difficulty in finding a space where individuals feel truly heard and understood. This unique perspective has led me to curating personalized spaces for my patients to make strides toward their treatment goals in a way that feels authentic to them. A huge music enthusiast, I love to attend concerts and musicals on my days off, as well as draw, write, and walk my dog around the neighborhood. I'm also an avid thrifter and am constantly pushing my personal style to new heights!
Are you emotionally drained from holding everything together? Together, we’ll make sense of your inner life, relationships, and the ways you’ve learned to protect yourself over time. My style, is compassionate, collaborative, and engaged. It's important to me that we create a relationship where all parts of you feel welcome and safe enough to make the changes you want. I’ve trained in relational psychodynamic therapy with children and adults, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. I believe our early relationships shape us and that healing happens through new relational experiences. In our work, we'll make space to be curious about feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and dynamics that often happen out of awareness.
