I am a New York–based Licensed Mental Health Counselor who works with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, adjustment concerns, and life transitions. Many of the students I work with are high-achieving and capable, yet feel stuck in their heads, unsure of themselves, or emotionally reactive under pressure. Therapy can be a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s going on, and learn how to respond rather than just react. My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded. I combine insight-oriented therapy with skills-based strategies such as emotion regulation, mindfulness, and anxiety management tools that can be used in real-life situations—academics, relationships, family dynamics, and identity development. I tailor therapy to each student’s individual needs, goals, and pace, with attention to how stress and life experiences impact emotional well-being. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in other high-pressure environments, including Division I collegiate athletics and business settings, which informs my understanding of performance stress, identity shifts, and transition periods. In early sessions, my focus is on getting to know you, helping you feel understood, and offering feedback and tools you can apply outside of sessions. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for clarity, therapy is a collaborative process, and I look forward to working with you.

Hi all - My name is Erica and I've been a practicing clinical social worker since 2013. My approach to therapy is flexible because your needs every session may not look or sound the same every time. I'm ready to meet you where you are at. From students away from home for the first time, to adult-learners, Veterans, to musicians or doctoral-candidates, those of you looking for short-term solutions or long-term collaboration...however you identify I am committed to help. While life transitions, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal issues are my specialties, let's discuss what your needs are and how I can help. Outside of the therapy world, I enjoy reading, playing Fortnite, golfing, and spending time with my husband, our toddler, and our family and friends.
Are you ready for change? What I love most about my work is seeing clients make meaningful strides toward feeling better—little by little, day by day. As an experienced anxiety therapist in Rochester and Pittsford NY I specialize in helping clients identify and change the negative thoughts and beliefs that impact their happiness and well-being. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’ll work to transform those self-critical, anxious thoughts into more positive, empowering ones. This shift can be life-changing—whether it’s managing ANXIETY, overcoming DEPRESSION, tackling SOCIAL PHOBIAS, or working through TRAUMA. I’m here to help you make that shift and find relief.
Working with a counselor can be anxiety provoking, so my focus is on helping you to feel at ease and create clear goals to make you feel better. I love to support clients in developing skills to manage emotions, build mindfulness in moving through pain, and find compassionate ways to heal. I have spent over 15 years facilitating individual and group services that center around grief, schema, dissociation, and complex trauma. I have been trained in solution focused therapy, ACT, DBT, and EMDR. My passion is helping others customize their healing journey and to take pleasure in every step on their path. It's rare that anyone wakes up overnight a different person. Rather it's through the beautiful process that we develop insight, wisdom, and happiness.
