My mission is to cultivate healthy, resilient, and connected athletes, coaches, and communities through trauma-informed, whole-person well-being. My approach integrates psychodynamic with trauma-informed, meditative, mindfulness, and mastery performance development for comprehensive healing and optimal performance. I’ve built my practice across New York City’s public, nonprofit, and private sectors, providing specialized training at institutions like NYU Medicine and Health and Hospitals while mentoring emerging practitioners from Columbia, NYU, and other leading programs. My experience as a first-gen Woman of Color, athlete, and parent enriches my therapeutic approach. Los Angeles born, New York City nested, I bring bi-coastal energy to my work, including co-hosting “Hahnacity”—a podcast focused on healing through storytelling—with Joy Hahn Silva Millora, former elite gymnast and now coach. Whether I’m cheering for the Lakers and Dodgers or connecting with “The Steam Room” community, I live the connection between athletic mindset and psychological well-being.

Life can feel overwhelming these days, and meaningful relationships, joys and values can be hard to sustain. The coping patterns we adopt often get in the way of feeling better, and connected with others. My practice fosters an empathetic environment where clients are at ease exploring emotions and concerns. Collaboratively, we address issues such as anxiety, depression and self-esteem struggles, and tackle problems such as relationship difficulties, life transitions, loss and school-related stressors. Jointly, we will define concrete goals, develop real-life coping skills and become more aware of underlying barriers to well-being. I am an LCSW (NYU) with a psychodynamic approach. I also draw on techniques from mindfulness-based therapies and trauma-informed methodologies. A former art history professor and undergraduate advisor (B.A. & M.A., Williams; Ph.D. U.Chicago), I understand the particular challenges college students face. Often, the hardest step about therapy is the decision to begin. I welcome the opportunity to meet you and explore how I can be helpful to you.

I work with college students by offering a safe and supportive space to talk through the ups and downs of this stage of life. Sometimes we use creative tools to help express feelings, and other times we just focus on conversation. My approach is always collaborative, and I’ll meet you where you’re at—whether that means exploring new ways to cope with stress, building healthier relationships, or simply having a space to sort through what’s on your mind.

I work with students who need more or different support than they are able to access on-campus. You may be looking for long-term therapy or for a therapist who specializes in working with people like you. I am trained in several types of therapy (ACT, DBT, relational, multicultural-feminist) and apply them flexibly based on what you need. Students who work with me are often looking for longer-term therapy, where we address deeper issues in a safe relationship, at your own pace. Others are seeking individual therapy that makes room for activism and the big problems of our time. We may be a good fit for therapy together if you are coping with a difficult family, relationship trouble, recurrent mental health problems (e.g. BPD, PTSD, MDD, GAD), or a life transition (e.g. grief, divorce, pregnancy, moving, spiritual/religious crisis). I also have particular experience working with medical students. Finally, I am a climate-aware and social justice-focused therapist; this means your experience with collective problems like white supremacy and the climate crisis is a welcome, respected, and important part of therapy. I don't take insurance, but I offer sliding scale fees based on financial need. Please reach out to me for a 15-minute phone call to see what might be possible in our work together!
