The Centered Space Psychology group
We are a group of experienced psychologists who use evidence-based treatments to support anxiety, mood disorders, relationship issues and more. We use relational work as well as CBT/DBT, mindfulness, ACT and EMDR. Our psychologists, Dr. Heidi Cox, Dr. Alejandra Feliz, and Dr. Sarah Davidson and Dr. Michelle Sidhom are experienced in treating college aged clients. We are LGBTQ+ and HAES-allied. We are in person in Union Square and Park Slope and also have virtual appointments available now.
Affinity Psychotherapy
Reaching out for help can be hard. We will do our best to provide a safe, supportive environment, when you can feel free to share as much as you need to. We consider therapy to be a collaboration between clinician and patient. Our job is to work with you to help you better understand your inner thoughts and feelings so that you can become the best version of you. We tend to follow patterns of behavior based on our earliest identities. Some of us go through life thinking we are not smart enough, not good looking enough, not capable enough, or not as good as others. It's important to understand that these beliefs are not in fact reality, but an internalized sense of self that we have learned from our earliest experiences. Because of these beliefs, we can often find ourselves repeating unhealthy patterns in relationships, how we deal with stress, social isolation, engaging in unhealthy or risky behaviors, and all manner of acting out in self-destructive ways. Therapy can help re-define who you are, so that instead following these unhealthy patterns, you can make choices that are informed by what you really want, as opposed to what you think you deserve. Therapy is not a quick fix. It takes time and commitment, and it is hard. We are ready to make that commitment with you, and be with you on your journey of self-discovery, so that you can become the author of your own life, rather than letting it be written for you. Please contact us for a free consultation.
Joshua Sanchez-Bow, LCSW
Life’s challenges can at times feel overwhelming, especially when anxiety, emotional pain, relationship difficulties, or uncertainty begin to shape how we relate to ourselves and others. In these moments, it can become difficult to feel grounded, connected, or aligned with the life we want to live. Therapy offers an opportunity to better understand these experiences and develop new ways of responding to them with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention. I provide therapy for adults, older adolescents, and couples navigating interpersonal, emotional, and psychological challenges. My approach integrates process-based and behavioral science principles, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help individuals develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe therapy should be collaborative, personalized, and responsive to the unique complexities of each person's life. I combine evidence-based care with a thoughtful and compassionate approach tailored to your individual goals and values. If you are seeking support or guidance to better understand your experiences, I welcome the opportunity to connect.

My client may be a person who currently feels stuck in their life, or dealing with chronic health issues, issues related to school, coming out, or dealing with depression and anxiety. They are seeking to feel better emotionally, function better in their lives, and connect to others in a more meaningful way. I honor the uniqueness of my patients and celebrate the qualities which make them particularly remarkable. I work with patients to achieve more satisfaction from their lives and choices, and provide them with support and practical feedback to assist in helping them resolve current problems and long-standing maladaptive patterns. My focus is to work collaboratively with my patients to help get them to their ideal level of functioning, and foster growth and personal development in a supportive and judgement-free environment. We can develop skills to deal more effectively with overwhelming feelings, identify your strengths, and work together to overcome challenges in your life. I look forward to speaking with you, and discussing how we can work interactively so that you can better navigate your way forward, and get to a more fulfilling level of functioning.

Jake Danny-Soury
I help adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and self-esteem concerns, drawing on more than 10 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The people I work best with are those who want to better understand themselves, break unhelpful patterns, strengthen their relationships, and feel more confident managing life's challenges. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking for meaningful change, I provide a space to identify strategies, build healthier coping skills, and work toward becoming the version of yourself you want to be. Therapy works best, I believe, when patients feel heard and understood without judgment. My goal is to be a collaborative, trusted partner who meets you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be. Together, we can look more closely at the challenges you're facing, recognize the patterns that may be holding you back, and develop tools for meaningful change. I look forward to helping you build greater confidence, deepen your relationships, and create a healthier, more fulfilling life. Therapy with me is hands-on and individualized, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) while also exploring the experiences and patterns that may be contributing to your current challenges. I believe it should be a space where you feel understood, while also being challenged to develop new perspectives and make real changes. Growing your self-awareness and confidence, along with the skills you can use to create lasting change in your everyday life, is something I'm passionate about helping you achieve. That looks like a nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself, using these same tools to make sense of your thoughts and emotions, develop coping skills, and move toward that change. My style is warm, direct, and down-to-earth, because therapy should feel like a partnership, tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and goals, balancing encouragement with the room you need to grow. My path as a therapist has been shaped by more than 10 years of working with people through different stages of life and a wide range of challenges. These experiences have reinforced my belief that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I bring curiosity, compassion, and a down-to-earth perspective to each session, taking the time to understand who you are as a person, not just the challenges that brought you to therapy, so we can create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself while working toward meaningful and lasting change. When I’m not in session, I love playing tennis and cheering on my Knicks!
Sandra Lugo's Mental Health Services
Many insurances are accepted and services provided in-person and Telehealth. Psychotherapy will help you navigate difficulties in relationships, careers, and life in general. It will help you understand and work through the emotional roadblocks, such as anxieties and depressive moods that can cause individuals to struggle, . Modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, IMAGO, psychodynamic and relational approaches, are used in my practice. An essential feature of this approach is the development of a unique and trusting relationship between client and therapist. In a safe, non-judgmental environment, we will discuss difficulties through an exploration of presenting problems, personal history, relationships and goals.

Rhonda J Factor, PhD
During college, it's not unusual to feel overwhelmed. Perhaps you want closer friendships. Maybe you get anxious when you talk to new people, or you feel lonely or down. Maybe you're falling back into a familiar depression or returning to high levels of anxiety you hoped wouldn't follow you to college. It can be hard to think about going to therapy when you don't even know what you'd say. If you feel badly about yourself or you feel hopeless, it might be hard to think anything will help. You are not alone. You don't have to have the answers. Listening compassionately, I will invite you to bring your experience into the room. Together, we can collaborate to better understand you and the challenges you're confronting. We may discover unmourned losses or unhealed wounds. We may identify recurring patterns of thoughts, feelings, and interactions that may not be serving you anymore. Experiencing a greater emotional range, you can begin to heal. After working in university counseling centers for over 15 years, I now see many undergraduate and graduate students in private practice. I enjoy working both with students who are new to psychotherapy as well as those who have been in therapy previously. Many students I work with are LGBTQIA+/ queer students.
