Throughout my life, I have found people to be fascinating as each person has unique stories, values, and beliefs that guide their life. This curiosity of people combined with the belief that each person has intrinsic value and worth led me to the field of counseling. Through using collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches, I hope to facilitate a healing space where clients can learn how to care for themselves holistically, pursue personal goals, and address mental health concerns, all while feeling accepted for who they are as a person. I completed my clinical internship experience at Appalachian State University’s counseling center during 2023 - 2024 academic year. During this time I developed skills for working with clients facing life transitions, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depression, spiritual/ religious concerns, emotional dysregulation, interpersonal relationship concerns, low self-confidence, grief and academic distress. My main theoretical approach is person-centered therapy while also using creative, culturally-aware and trauma-informed methods. I have a passion for working with clients who are working through anxiety, depression, academic stress, neurodivergence and life-transitions. Please reach out to set up an appointment today!

You’re up late doom-scrolling Instagram wondering why everyone else seems to have it together. It seems impossible to not compare yourself to others and you think, “if I could just lose weight, I’d be happy.” It feels like you’re doing the “right things” but you still worry it’s not enough. You’ve become your own worst critic, constantly feeling like you aren’t living up to your expectations. You can’t help but notice there’s a tightness in your chest when you realize you have another task to add to your to-do list. Lately, it feels like your anxiety is running your life and your self-esteem is at an all-time low. It’s okay to exhale. Therapy is an empowering space to cope with the “what ifs”, build self-compassion, and discover food freedom. Imagine being able to close your laptop at the end of the day and feel accomplished, even if it means you didn’t “do it all.” Picture yourself grabbing lunch with friends and ordering what you actually want, without the guilt. I support college students wanting to heal their relationship with food and their body, and release the pressure to be perfect. I offer a free 15 minute video consultation call to chat about what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and see if we'd be a good fit. Send me an email to get started! Licensed in NC, SC, and VA.

As social beings, people need the contact and acceptance of other people. It is not uncommon for people to experience things that disrupt or unravel their lives, and they feel they have no one to turn to who understands or accepts them. Whether this experience is anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, or trauma, my passion is to help individuals find healthy ways of coping and processing the events in their lives. As well as helping people connect with others in more meaningful ways. As everyone is different, I feel there is no single therapeutic approach that works for everyone. Because of this, I have sought training in multiple therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My educational background includes an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. My Clinical internship was spent in a substance abuse/mental health facility in South Florida, where I worked with military and veteran clients. Before my degree, I enlisted in the United States Airforce and was trained as a Medical Technician/EMT.

About Many of us go through life with low self-esteem believing that we're not enough, less than, or undeserving of any good thing. We wonder why good things don't happen for us, or why we can't have healthy relationships like others do. We feel guilt and shame for the things we've done (or not done) and we don't know how to believe in ourselves anymore. I am here to help you through these unhealthy beliefs and help you rediscover your true worth and purpose in this life. I believe in using a collaborative approach in helping my clients. I use evidence-based practices, including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Motivational Therapy. I also use my Christian counseling experiences I am supportive, yet direct with empathy, compassion and help you address the barriers in their life that are causing you pain and distress. I started my education later in my adult life, and believed I had arrived late to the game. But I found that life experience paired with my own belief system, allowed me the opportunity to view life's challenges through a unique lens, and because of that I am non-judgmental and empathetic towards people who are struggling with the hurts life has dealt them.

*Test anxiety? *Speaking and presentations seem impossible? *Looking for finally getting underneath and controlling your anxiety? ----Want to get underneath your feeling of angst, stress and uneasiness? I teach ways to reset and grow a nervous system that is able to find calm and relax even with time deadlines and performances. I help you create new habits that foster a positive, calm, productivity mindset. I use cutting-edge modern scientifically proven methods, along with, ancient powerful self-care methods that help people re-program sensitive nervous systems. I started her career as a Cognitive Behavioral therapist and over the last 25 years learned powerful methods to help clients make powerful changes on the moment. Many people I work with say the methods I teach seem too simple to work. I have found when people begin to use them regularly, they notice that other areas of their life begin to change as well. My focus is helping clients with Profoundly Simple selfcare that helps people thrive. Clients who see results commit to 5-10 minutes of using the skills we use in sessions in their everyday lives. This way they reset their baseline levels of tension and increase energy, cakm, and focus. I also have Calm and Centered Success groups that begin in September and January for applying skills in a more community setting with support and encouragement from others to make lastng life changes. If interested, text me, and we can set up a time to chat for free on the phone for about 15 min 508-812-8782. I am in-network for Aetna, Blue Cross of NC, and some Optum United Healthcare Plans. I specialize in working with college-age clients who grew up in chaotic or neglectful households. My clients often appear to have it all together- high-achieving, involved on campus, the friend everyone leans on. Despite this, they struggle with anxiety in relationships, fear of others' judgment, difficulty letting people get close, exhaustion that rest doesn't fix, and a sense of being lost or like an imposter, even when things look good on paper. Often, at the core of these struggles are unresolved wounds or narratives from early in life. During our most formative years, we adopt lasting beliefs about ourselves and the world- a blueprint we carry into adulthood. For many of my clients, that blueprint is resurfacing now, in the first real independence of college: new relationships, distance from family, and the pressure to figure out who they are outside of old roles. It shapes how they connect with roommates, partners, and friends, and how they handle the stress of exams, deadlines, and an uncertain future- often without their realizing it. These narratives, inherited from caregivers, family, or environment, become deeply ingrained and unconscious. While they may have helped us survive earlier in life, they can become counterproductive as we step into adulthood, creating invisible barriers to connection and well-being. Putting these thoughts into words in a safe space allows them to surface where they can be understood and rewritten.
