Do you find yourself obsessing about weight, body image, food, calories, or working out? Do you engage in restrictive behaviors that only lead to bingeing and purging? Do you ever get intrusive thoughts or images that are distressing and you just can't seem to get rid of them? You may even have thoughts of harming someone and have to check to make sure you didn't. You don't actually want to harm them, but the thoughts keep coming. I practice via telehealth in NY, NC, WA, and TX. I specialize in working with adult men and women who may look fine on the outside, but inside you're struggling to get your own needs met, self-doubt, perfectionism, and shame. Gestalt Therapy goes beyond looking only at the cognitive, linear perspective of the person. It demands of the therapist an awareness of the body and how it manifests in the psyche. Through its focus on process rather than content, the patient gains an experiential awareness of how they do what they do and new choices emerge spontaneously. The radical focus on process in Gestalt creative therapy keeps the work alive and full of possibility for both the patient and for my work as a therapist. Melissa Bennett-Heinz obtained her master’s degree in clinical social work from Columbia University (Class of 2002) and is a graduate of Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York City, NY. In addition to her background in Gestalt Therapy, she obtained her bachelor's and master’s degrees from the esteemed conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, in New York City, where she majored in Oboe Performance. Melissa completed cognitive behavioral studies under the tutelage of Dr. William Sanderson. She is a licensed clinical social worker in NY, WA, NC, and TX and has over twenty years of specialized training and experience in PTSD, childhood abuse, mood and anxiety disorders. Melissa brings her background as a classical musician and deep spirituality together in her unique approach in Gestalt's creative and experiential therapy.
I believe in healing through corrective experiences. It is possible to heal from trauma & anxiety, rather than just learning coping with it! I prefer to use methods that are designed to alleviate the distress associated with painful memories. This includes Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and other Experiential Therapy modalities that are proven to be equally as effective in a virtual setting.
Chris McGinn is a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and/or career and education transitional issues. It is Chris’ goal to create a safe, accepting, and comfortable environment to allow you, the client, to grow in self-awareness and self-acceptance. This begins by forming a mutually desirable relationship and bringing focus to your counseling sessions by setting goals that will be re-assessed throughout the counseling process. Chris's general counseling approach is based on the Humanistic perspective, which helps you develop a stronger, healthier sense of self and access and understand your feelings to help gain a sense of meaning in life. Chris utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based approach to help you become your best self: the person you'd be if you just weren't so tired, so anxious, so angry, or so depressed. He believes your work together is to challenge the reasons you feel that way in the first place so you can move past them and start feeling happier, more productive, and more connected to the life you want. He incorporates modalities such as art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, experiential therapy, play therapy, existential, and trauma-focused therapy in sessions. Chris feels that a client-therapist relationship based on trust and acceptance is the most important element of successful therapy.
Hi, I'm Dani, and I'm so happy you're here! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, and I am the owner + founder of New Perspectives Mental Health Serices, PLLC. My hope is that if you are reading this, you are ready to take the next step in your mental health journey. Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. Maybe you just started college and feel lost and overwhelmed or have just moved to a new city with no support system in place. You could be trying to decide what career will be the best fit, or maybe you feel confused after realizing that you don't want to continue in the career you chose several years ago. Oftentimes in early adulthood, relationships can also bring anxiety whether they be with friends, family, or romantic partners. Do you want to learn how to be your most authentic self while also managing life's stressors? Then I want to help! Although I specialize in working with clients ages 18-30, everyone is welcome to reach out to connect. Our work will be collaborative. My approach is integrative, but I lean heavily towards cognitive behavioral therapy. This means that we will spend a great deal of our time focusing on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. We will also work together to build new coping skills so that you are able to continue the work outside of the therapy "room." I strongly believe that every person's needs are different, and I am prepared to meet you where you are.

I work best with students who are navigating big life transitions, managing stress, or feeling overwhelmed by expectations—whether that’s from school, family, relationships, or themselves. Many of the students I have seen are deep feelers who carry a lot on their shoulders but don’t always feel like they can ask for help. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, identity exploration, or trauma from earlier life experiences. Therapy with me is a space to unpack all of that without pressure to be perfect. You don’t have to have it all figured out—just come as you are.
Waking up each day to feel the weight of society’s expectations on your shoulders is overwhelming. There are times where you begin to wonder where you belong and if there is a place you can really be yourself. You were never given the opportunity to discover your true self and now you’re wondering who you really are! So many aspects of how you were raised and the things you experienced are holding onto you and keeping you from embracing new paths in your life. At times, it can be lonely navigating life while finding yourself, unlearning toxic beliefs, and learning to love the person you’re meant to be. But life is a journey! You deserve to wake up excited for the day and all of its possibilities. You are worthy of taking the time to stop and find yourself and discover who you want to be. It’s okay to acknowledge where you came from and the events that shaped you while also striving for a different path. It’s okay to question the ideals you grew up with and it’s okay to challenge the ones you feel don’t fit with who you want to be now! This is your life and you deserve to be in control of it. If any of that describes how you’re currently feeling, I would love to join you on your journey to self discovery. Finding yourself and your place in life can be challenging work but you do not have to do it alone. If you feel you’re ready to begin the journey, I am here to walk with you!
Tiffany is a native of Mississippi graduating from the prestigious Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. Tiffany has been providing counseling services since 2012 and Neurofeedback services since 2014. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. Tiffany is one of only three clinicians in North Carolina's Piedmont Triad Region who is Board Certified in Neurofeedback from The Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA) and a certified mentor for the BCIA board certification process helping train other practitioners to become board certified in neurofeedback. Tiffany is a the only clinician in the region who has the Quantitative EEG-Diplomate Licensed (QEEG-DL) certification from the QEEG Certification Board. She is certified in HeartMath and serves as adjunct faculty at Wake Forest University in the graduate counseling program. Longo, MRC, LCMHC, BCN; Richard Soutar, PhD, BCN (Alpha Theta Training); Tiff Thompson, PhD, MFT, BCN, QEEGDL, REEGT (QEEG Training), and Sebern Fisher (Neurofeedback and Developmental Trauma). Click here to listen to Tiffany’s talk on Developmental Trauma. When Tiffany began her career, she used more well-known techniques, like cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy, but it wasn’t long before she became increasingly aware that the mental health field needed alternatives. Neurofeedback takes advantage of the brain's ability to change itself allowing a person of any age to make changes in behavior and thinking patterns more easily. Using a combination of counseling and Neurofeedback, Tiffany began to see more substantial changes in her client's lives. Currently, Tiffany utilizes Neurofeedback and Heart Rate Variability in combination with traditional counseling. Click here to read Tiffany’s article on the popular Blog—Triad Mom’s on Main. Tiffany works with a variety of clientele utilizing a person-centered approach, which means sessions will start with you and your needs. Together, we will explore the issues that you bring to counseling in a holistic way with emphasis on emotional and personal history perspectives. Tiffany‘s experience has allowed her to work closely with many children, teenagers, and adults of different needs and backgrounds where she brings enthusiasm, compassion and cross-cultural understanding to her work towards healing and wholeness.

Brooke is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (North Carolina) and Licensed Professional Counselor (South Carolina) based out of Charlotte, NC. She works with women in their young adult years or 30's. Many of Brooke's client's come in feeling depressed, anxious and overwhelmed. It is not uncommon for one of Brooke's clients to say they feel like something is off because of a reaction they are having to a recent loss or past trauma. Brooke's goal is that everyone leaves feeling seen, heard and like their experiences and reactions to life events make a little more sense. She believes that everyone has a valuable story to tell and considers it a joy and privilege to hear that story and identify the themes and effects the story has on the client's life. While she works with people of all faith backgrounds, Brooke was trained in Christian counseling and offers integration of faith into counseling upon request. Her goal in working with clients is to help them better understand how their brain and body are connected and to empower clients to live in a way that aligns with their values. Clients who have worked with Brooke often feel supported and seen. She tries to come alongside and be a healing presence in the midst of great suffering. Brooke believes that the best therapists have been in therapy themselves and understands how much courage it takes to reach out for help. She strives to be empathetic and gives space for clients to reach the goals they set out to accomplish over the course of therapy. In her free time, Brooke enjoys spending time in nature, watching Chicago Cubs and Bears, listening to a good audiobook or podcast, watching French TV shows and traveling.
Hardworking, ambitious, fucking exhausted. I work with women (18–30) who look like they have it together but are absolutely depleting themselves to stay that way. They’re responsible, creative, used to handling a lot…but they’re tired of overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling like no matter how hard they work, it’s never enough. Some have anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma histories. Others just know something feels off, that life feels heavier than it should. Often, they’re great at coping on the outside, which can make it hard to admit they’re struggling at all. But let’s be honest: Appearing “fine” is a full-time job. In therapy, we slow things down on purpose. We look at the patterns you’ve been stuck in — people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism — and figure out what’s actually driving them. We work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it. We build practical tools that help you move forward in your life. My style is warm, direct, & honest. I care deeply about my clients and will absolutely challenge you when it matters. I use EMDR, ACT, & DBT skills in ways that are personal and actually useful.
