I love the work that I do helping people through their difficulties, helping them gain insight and courage to change their lives in ways of their choosing. I approach all of my work from a strengths perspective. We all need help sometimes and it takes courage to seek out help and guidance. I operate from a strong faith background myself but follow the client's lead on whether they want to add these elements into our work or not. I am non-judgmental and am open to working with all people.

I believe in healing through corrective experiences. It is possible to heal from trauma & anxiety, rather than just learning coping with it! I prefer to use methods that are designed to alleviate the distress associated with painful memories. This includes Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and other Experiential Therapy modalities that are proven to be equally as effective in a virtual setting.
Hardworking, ambitious, fucking exhausted. I work with women (18–30) who look like they have it together but are absolutely depleting themselves to stay that way. They’re responsible, creative, used to handling a lot…but they’re tired of overthinking, second-guessing, or feeling like no matter how hard they work, it’s never enough. Some have anxiety, depression, ADHD, or trauma histories. Others just know something feels off, that life feels heavier than it should. Often, they’re great at coping on the outside, which can make it hard to admit they’re struggling at all. But let’s be honest: Appearing “fine” is a full-time job. In therapy, we slow things down on purpose. We look at the patterns you’ve been stuck in — people-pleasing, avoidance, self-criticism — and figure out what’s actually driving them. We work with your nervous system instead of fighting against it. We build practical tools that help you move forward in your life. My style is warm, direct, & honest. I care deeply about my clients and will absolutely challenge you when it matters. I use EMDR, ACT, & DBT skills in ways that are personal and actually useful.

Trauma can be an invisible wound that can affect many parts of our lives we don’t even realize. I work with clients with depression, anxiety, adoption triad concerns, and trauma-related issues. Change can be hard. Having the courage to reach out and discuss your inner pain and anxiety is the first step. I want to help you work through your past painful experiences, feelings of shame, and traumatic events so that you can create a new life path. I believe each person has their own pace, and am willing to find therapies and strategies that work for you. My approach is open-minded, trauma-based, cognitive, and holistic. I started my career in psychology and counseling when I experienced a suicide in my family. It gave me the courage to make changes for myself, and help people around me who were also suffering grief, loss, and depression. I’m an advocate of mental health issues, a proud adoptee, and a supporter of the arts. **I only accept insurance in the state of North Carolina**
My approach is one of empathy and compassion where I will hold space for all of your emotions while you navigate through difficult life events. My counseling style is warm, nurturing, and person-centered and I use interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - helping you work toward acceptance and awareness of the full range of your emotions, thoughts, and sensations in order to better understand yourself. Some of the specific issues I address include eating disorders, self-image, body-image dissatisfaction, life transitions, and anxiety/depression. I have experience working with those in recovery from eating disorders, with a focus on binge-eating and emotional eating, and body-image issues. I am a psychiatric mental health board-certified nurse practitioner. I attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham to complete my graduate degree. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit at the University of Birmingham Hospital. Committing to patient-centered care, I leverage my training and educational background to achieve optimal outcomes for my patients. I develop a treatment plan for each patient using evidence-based research. I work with a multidisciplinary team, putting the mental health and well-being of each patient first. I am committed to fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes trust, open communication, and collaboration between patients and their healthcare team. In addition to a physical assessment, a comprehensive mental health evaluation is also performed during the initial visit. A treatment plan is then developed based on the patient's short- and long-term objectives. Every strategy is tailored to the individual patient and may involve lifestyle modifications, medication management, and addressing physical health concerns.
