If you have ever found yourself agonizing over a text message for hours or redoing your to-do list a million times (because it wasn’t just right), we’re probably a match made in therapy heaven! I specialize in working with girlies like you, who are caught in the perfectionism and overthinking whirlwind. You know, the ones who have ten different planners, three different highlighter colors, and a love-hate relationship with Pinterest-level expectations. I work with the perfectionists, and those who struggle with body image and disordered eating. Reach out and let's get started!

I am a licensed clinical social worker, licensed clinical addictions specialist and certified clinical supervisor who works with individuals and families in order to resolve issues such as: depression, anxiety, trauma, grieving, women’s struggles, gender identity, addictive issues and life transitions. I also provide supervision to clinicians seeking licensure. It takes a lot of courage to reach out to a therapist for assistance. The therapeutic relationship is of upmost importance to support therapeutic gains. If we find that I am not a good fit for your needs then I will refer you to someone who might be a better fit. I use a wide variety of modalities, to include cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, experiential therapy, solution focused therapy, brief therapies and EMDR. We will examine the issues that are causing difficulty for you and address the continuum of coping skills that may be helpful to your situation. I have worked for over 20 years in mental health and substance abuse services. My goal is to assist the people I serve to live more fulfilling lives. I am a provider for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medcost, Aetna, Cigna, Coventry and most major insurance companies. I also provide documentation to clients with other insurances so they may file their own claims if they choose. PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST VISIT, to learn whether your insurance will cover our therapy, please contact your Benefits Director or call the number on the back of your insurance card. Some insurance companies require pre-authorization calls in order to cover ANY psychotherapy sessions. You are responsible for payment of any deductibles, co-insurance or co-pays at each session unless other arrangements are explicitly discussed. INCLEMENT WEATHER Ida can usually make her appointments on time despite Boone’s erratic winter weather. If weather prevents her from meeting you, she will contact you in advance. She requests you call 828-265-0190 if weather prevents you from meeting. Rate: Insurance rates for individual insurers/insurance companies. Counseling is like creating a work of art. It can be messy, beautiful, and transformative, but overall, it is a collaboration between client and therapist. I believe that you are the expert on your life and as such use a person-centered approach leaning into a balance of body, mind, and emotion. Doing so allows me to work with you to identify and reach specific goals, which assist in achieving well-being for emotional, physical and mental health. I enjoy working with a wide array of cultures and lifestyles. I currently offer telehealth sessions and see persons of all ages and backgrounds. I am trained in child and adolescent trauma, adult trauma, EMDR, human sexuality, grief, and somatic therapy, amongst other areas. I have a special focus in women’s trauma, adverse childhood experiences and military trauma, utilizing somatic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma, depression, chronic pain, anxiety, and sexual dysfunction.

I’m Chesilin Suek, PMHNP, and I’m dedicated to helping adults and teens who feel overwhelmed by anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that dims their spark, ADHD that makes life feel like constant catch-up, or OCD that traps them in exhausting cycles. Together, we create space for healing, clarity, and forward momentum. I offer a supportive, judgment-free environment where you’re met with understanding, encouragement, and respect every step of the way. My approach focuses on treating the whole person—not just symptoms. While I provide evidence-based medication support when appropriate, I also look at sleep, stress, relationships, lifestyle, and the deeper patterns that influence how you feel and function day to day. Care is never one-size-fits-all; we work collaboratively to create a plan that aligns with your goals, values, and real life. You are not broken, weak, or a burden—you’re human, doing your best in a world that can feel overwhelming. You deserve to feel better, not just get by. You deserve hope, energy, and something to look forward to. You don’t have to keep surviving on autopilot. Together, we’ll untangle what’s holding you back and work toward the life you’ve been wanting and deserve.

HI there, I'm Kristen, I've been working in mental health and addictions recovery for over 20 years. I enjoy working with people who are going through a transition, change, need extra support, or are dealing with on-going struggles. Some areas I specialize in include managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, bi-polar, past trauma, parenting struggles, pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, relationship issues, coping with a loved one's mental health or addiction, and addictions recovery. My work focuses on paying attention to our current thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and patterns, questioning or challenging our unhelpful thinking and behaviors, and shifting focus to what is already working in our lives. Teaching and practicing coping skills, mindfulness, and relaxations skills have been a useful part of my practice. my style is pretty informal and relaxed, and I love working with college students

College is often synonomous with stress. Adapting to independence. Figuring out your identity, beliefs, and preferences apart from family influence. Balancing classes and social life. You're living "Adulting 101." I work with lots of folks managing life transitions and stress. Sometimes this includes managing anxiety or working through past trauma, but it always includes working together to create a space for you to question and learn and grow into the person you desire. I want you to feel freedom to show up and take up space in your life. We'll collaborate to determine what that looks like for you.

*While I am not in-network with the Dartmouth Student Health Plan, I do bill that plan directly as an out-of-network provider, and students only pay a $30 copay each session.* I have been working with college-age students and young professionals throughout my career, and have previously been employed at both The University of Vermont and Dartmouth College. My goal is to understand my clients' concerns through their lens while reflecting back what seems to be getting in the way of achieving their goals. I am a compassionate provider, who actively engages with my clients making every effort to provide direct and honest feedback. I understand the rigors and challenges of adjusting to college life and the real and perceived pressure that many college students face. I spend time understanding what my clients are hoping to get from therapy, and work hard to help them move from suffering to thriving. As a Mental Health Counselor and Registered Dietitian I consider a client holistically when assessing their needs and focus on the health of the body and the mind.

Our life experiences inevitably shape us as individuals. They impact the way we interact with ourselves, others, and the world around us. They even influence our careers, attitudes, and perspectives. In the case of experiencing trauma, this can lead us to live lives characterized by avoiding triggers, feeling isolated, and doing whatever it takes to find spaces that feel safe in a world that, otherwise, feels unsafe. I know the devastation of feeling like you have lost yourself as a result of experiencing trauma, and I know the resiliency it requires to begin to pick up the pieces of what feels like a shattered life and try again. As a licensed counselor, I am here to provide a safe space to talk through painful experiences and emotions. I enjoy working with adults who wish to process past trauma utilizing EMDR, those experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, perfectionism, or low self-esteem, and those who are struggling with spirituality and faith concerns. Seeking help is a big decision, and many find themselves scrolling through a list of therapists, feeling desperate and overwhelmed. I want you to find a counselor who is the right fit, and I offer a free 15 min consultation call so we can get to know each other. If you're looking for support during a difficult season, I would be honored to work with you.

I work with students, adults, couples, and veterans who are seeking respite and levity for whatever issues they may find themselves mired within. I believe that healing cannot occur in isolation and the role of therapist is to serve as a guide and confidant in the healing process. I will help you in discovering your own wellness touchstones that will assist in promoting your unique therapeutic needs. Some of the therapeutic interventions and modalities that I base my work on include client/person centered therapy, expressive arts therapy, substance abuse and addictions counseling, mindfulness based approaches, trauma focused therapy, men’s work, and psychodynamic theory. As your therapist, I will assist you in your personal process of healing and self-discovery. I look forward to hearing from you!

Bright View Counseling was founded in 2020 by Michael Clark-Borenstein LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor) with the mission of bringing a better counseling experience to the people of Charlotte, North Carolina. After struggling through the challenges we all faced in 2020 and continue to face in 2021 due to the global pandemic, therapy and counseling have become something we could all benefit from having more of. If you or your child have been struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, work or life-related stress, behavioral changes, or simply struggling to adjust to the big changes we all faced this past year, you are not alone. We’re breaking the traditional mold of talk therapy and counseling and bringing a new, brighter idea of what therapy could and should look like with our ‘Therapy With A Twist!’ approach. Our therapy approach is holistic, humanistic, and person-focused. We bring the power of the natural world into the therapeutic process. We take walks outside, participate in outdoor activities with clients, and integrate activities and games. We also get a helping paw from our office dog, Charlotte, who comes into sessions to provide a furry friend to hug, pet, and receive emotional support from. We’ve adopted all of these practices to continue to work with teletherapy as well. We take virtual walks, have outdoor virtual sessions, and have even participated in virtual fishing! Our outlook on the client-therapist relationship differs from other counseling services. At Bright View Counseling, we forge a trusting relationship with clients. Therapy can be an intimidating process for new clients. We strive to create a casual, comfortable environment where our clients can feel safe and free to express themselves honestly and openly without fear of judgment.
