Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
Hi, I’m Dallas, a counseling graduate intern at Resilience Counseling & Play Therapy. I work with children, teens, young adults, and college students who may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, stuck, or uncertain about life’s next steps. College can bring a lot of pressure balancing academics, relationships, work, family expectations, and mental health all at once. My goal is to provide a supportive, judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I enjoy helping students navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress management, and emotional struggles that can interfere with daily life and success in school. I also have experience supporting children, adolescents, and families through behavioral concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, and family stressors. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to talk openly, build healthy coping skills, gain confidence, and work toward meaningful change at your own pace. Whether you are struggling with something specific or simply feeling emotionally exhausted, you do not have to figure it out alone.
Hello! My name is Nick, and I am a therapist specializing in anxiety, panic, depression, stress management, and confidence building. I help people explore, process, and heal from trauma. I am also trauma-informed, weight-lifting certified, supporting clients in connecting with their bodies while addressing mental health. My goal is to help you understand yourself, develop skills to handle life’s pressures, and become more independent. My approach is client-centered, authentic, and down-to-earth. Therapy with me feels like a conversation, not a checklist. Together, we’ll tackle unhelpful thought patterns, build resilience, increase body awareness, and develop strategies to manage life’s stressors. If you’re looking for a supportive space to gain control over your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, improve your relationships, and feel more confident in yourself and your future, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to create meaningful change.
Best fit for individuals experiencing stress, PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, as well as support with parenting challenges and life transitions. Main treatment models I provide are CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) as well as CPT (Cognitive processing therapy) which is a specific type of cognitive behavioral therapy that has been effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD. Together, we can explore solutions and positive growth. A brief therapy model is NOT compatible treatment for crisis, psychiatric emergencies, legal issues, active addictions, severe and persistent mental illness including suicidal or self-injurious behavior, nor those with histories of recent hospitalizations.
“Live simply so others may simply live.” – Mahatma Gandhi I believe therapy is a relationship experience between client and counselor. I, as a counselor, am an expert in my field and my client is an expert of themselves. My approach to therapy stems from the belief that client and counselor work best together as a team, to help uncover the core beliefs and traits taught to us as children and young adults. I incorporate empathy and unconditional positive regard into each of my sessions, to work towards connection and understanding of one another and one’s self. I have experience working in both partial hospitalization program and outpatient settings. My experience stems from working with children and teens with autism, to working with adults with severe anxiety and depression. I have experience working as a mentor of juveniles, as well as a professional in the foster care system. My experience allows for me to keep an open mind when going into the therapy setting, to better understand my clients and their individual backgrounds.
Most of my clients are from BI&POC or LGBTQIA+ communities. I strive to create an unconditionally affirming and accepting therapeutic space where you can feel comfortable to explore whatever you need to in order to heal and find your path to liberation. I work diligently to equalize the power dynamics within the therapeutic relationship, and I strive to act more as a collaborator that works with clients to identify their strengths, values, and beliefs. I utilize a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive/decolonization framework to support clients in their journeys toward growth, authenticity, empowerment, and self-acceptance. I recognize the significant effects that organizational structures and cultural contexts can have on the health and wellbeing of individuals, and also how these structures can negatively impact our perception of ourselves. In addition to my work with general mental health, I am also a sex therapist and sexuality educator. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and kink/BDSM/poly friendly. Hey there, I’m Georgia. As a therapist my goal is to put you at ease with the process of therapy, and provide a comfortable, warm environment for all of my clients. I emphasize kindness, respect, humor and open communication in my work. I look to create a safe, protected and professional relationship where we can work together to help you address the things that are causing dysfunction in your life, and create opportunities to experience the power of relationships to engage and to heal. In my practice I blend attachment-based, person-centered, trauma-informed and strength-based approaches. I believe that every human is unique and has a unique story, and that therapy should be tailored to best fit you. I have deep respect for the individuals and families who come to therapy, and always seek to support and honor my client’s strengths and resiliencies. It can be very difficult to take on the commitment of therapy and to open up to someone else, and just showing up to therapy is an act of strength and courage. I seek to maintain an affirming and accepting space for all humans, including LGBTQIA2S+ identified individuals. I have 9 years of experience working in the mental health field in research, school, home-based and clinical settings. I have worked primarily with young children, but have also had experience working with infants, toddlers, teens, young adults, parents, families, and pregnant individuals. I have experience providing therapy to children from difficult places, children in foster care, adoptive children, and children who have experienced trauma. I am passionate about working with children, families with young children, and about helping caregivers to grow stronger connections with themselves and with the children in their care. I also enjoy working with individuals of all ages and believe that it is never too early, nor is anyone ever too old, to benefit from a therapeutic relationship. I have completed foundational training for Theraplay® and am now engaging in work based on Theraplay principles. Theraplay is an approach to child and family therapy that aims to address behavioral, emotional, or developmental issues and improve the parent-child relationship through play and healthy interaction. Caregivers of children up to age 12 are welcome to inquire to learn more about this method. A little about me – I live in South Lansing with my partner and our dog, two cats and a small flock of chickens. I spend most of my free time working to transform my 1.3 acre lawn into an urban farm, food forest, and native plant and wildlife refuge. I find my greatest moments of joy and peace in life through engagement and connection with nature, and love to hike, backpack, camp, kayak and explore new places.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and conversational, in an atmosphere of trust and warmth. Each session is tailored to your individual needs and goals. There is no cookie cutter or one size fits all approach. I pull from a variety of evidence-based practices to provide you with the coping skills to meet your needs and goals. Whether it's anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, stress or any other concern, we will reach that next phase of your life. Life can be challenging and there are times when we need assistance in getting through these challenges. We'll figure out solutions, coping skills, new approaches and or enhance skills that you already have to manage and overcome the challenges. It takes a strong person to be vulnerable to reach out to a therapist, which can be an overwhelming task. I do not take this lightly. I'd love to hear from you and assist you in the next steps.
I work from an attachment and relational lens in therapy. I incorporate emotion focused interventions, which are beneficial for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood concerns, or relational concerns.

Overthinking constantly? Stuck in "what if" loops? Feeling exhausted? If so, you are in the right place. I help high-functioning adults, students, and overthinkers with anxiety and OCD using proven approaches that really work and creates lasting change. The goal is simple: feel calmer, more confident, and more in control over your life. We will do hard things, we'll laugh, and we'll keep it human along the way. If this resonates, I'd love to work together. Hi, I'm Amy, Anxiety and OCD Therapist based in Broomfield, Colorado, as well as virtual in Colorado, Iowa, and Michigan. I provide a space that is relaxed, real, and not overly serious. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience helping people work toward meaningful change. I specialize in anxiety, OCD, and related struggles utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). At Alpine Calm Wellness, the focus is on helping clients to reduce anxiety loops, break unhelpful patterns, and get unstuck from overthinking. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth. We will focus on what actually works in real life, expect structure, support, and a space where you truly feel heard. Together, we work on reducing avoidance, building confidence, and helping you to feel more control over your life. If you're ready to overthink less and live more, I'd love to connect. Outside the therapy room, I'm very much a "get outside" person, which is in part why I named my practice, Alpine Calm Wellness. I find my calm in nature. I love spending time with family, friends, and my dogs exploring all that Colorado has to offer, whether it be hiking, camping, snowboarding, or just being in the mountains. I'm also in my creative era, most recently diving into the handbuilt pottery world, perfecting my sourdough bread recipe, and crocheting a year-long temperature blanket, all which are teaching me patience and the value of the process.
Living a “life worth living” can seem like a path only others get to travel, while our journey feels unfair, exceedingly difficult, or at times impossible. At times we discover that our struggles are the result of the choices we made, or the choices others have made that affect us. At other times, we unknowingly hold onto faulty beliefs about ourselves or others, living as if they are true or accurate. To cope, we develop strategies to make the journey seem more doable. They can indeed be helpful and carry us toward our goals, or be the very obstacle that prevents us from achieving our potential. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Diplomate with the NASW in Clinical Social Work. I have worked with children, teens, young adults, and adults, as a practitioner of DBT,and CBT, supportive therapies, and multiple trauma modalities such as Prolonged Exposure, Traumatic Incident Reduction, TF-CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. If you find that this description of “living” resonates for you, therapy may provide the hurdle help you need to claim or reclaim your agency. Goodness of fit is a crucial variable in therapy. There are many therapists in our community who may be that link for you. If after reading my profile, we may seem like a good fit, give me a call.
