Therapists for college students near Boston College
a Yale-educated and clinically trained therapist, I believe therapy begins with one essential foundation: feeling safe enough to be truly seen and heard. Choosing to pursue therapy is a deeply personal decision, and the relationship between therapist and client should be grounded in compassion, empathy, and trust. My approach is centered on creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore challenges openly, build resilience, and move toward meaningful growth and healing. I understand that every person’s story is unique, and I am committed to meeting each client with respect, curiosity, and genuine care throughout their therapeutic journey.
Hi! I'm Kade- a queer, nonbinary therapist that got bored of doing traditional therapy. Now, I work with clients in the outdoors (think: walk and talk therapy, or hanging out by a creek, or making nature art) or offer to bring in art and nature into our office or virtual sessions. I primarily work with LGBTQIA+ clients as well as those figuring out life after leaving or reconsidering religion. Many of my other clients are navigating life changes that feel chaotic or are just trying to give therapy "another shot". My ultimate goal for my clients is for them to get the support they're needing. So, I'll invite you to check in about what's working or not, and will work to co-create an approach to therapy based on your own needs. Therapy should never be a "one size fits all" kind of thing.
Welcome, and congratulations on taking the first step towards finding support. Identifying a therapist who you feel can best support and encourage you can be a considerable undertaking. It is important to me to provide clients with authentic, non-judgmental and compassionate care that helps facilitate the adjustments you wish to see in your life. I am experienced with individual therapy, couples therapy, as well as family therapy. I also have a significant amount of experience working with late aged adolescents and young adults. Feel free to contact me with questions you may have or to set up a 15-minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.

** I AM CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS** ** TELEHEALTH SESSIONS ONLY** I guide people to create positive change in their lives, and understand this is often a difficult and overwhelming process. My focus is to assist people with creative problem solving, to stay goal-oriented, and to ensure you feel validated and truly heard so you may reach your goals and move from "stuck" to empowered. I use multiple approaches, such as CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness. Achieving balance in one's life is a skill, and by using different modalities (movement, art, visualization, and sound) I adapt interventions to meet your individual needs. I approach my work through a holistic, integrative, and progressive mindset, and treat the whole person- mind, body, and spirit. My areas of expertise include anxiety, perfectionism, OCD, depression, mood disorders (bipolar, depression), trauma, and college age/life transitions. I am currently accepting new clients and look forward to meeting with you.

I have extensive training in motivational interviewing and positive psychology that I utilize during the process. I specialize working with anxiety, depression, trauma, military veterans, grief and loss, life transitions and life planning. You are the expert of your own life. Whether you are at a crossroads in your life, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or sensing your life is not what it could be, help is available. As helpers, we are committed to meeting you exactly where you are by using our collection of professional tools to assist you to reach your highest potential through connection to your “true” self, the part of you who is waiting to be rediscovered and made manifest. Our orientation as therapists combines our understanding of human development, psychology, and behavioral change with wisdom and practice that is woven through most spiritual traditions. You need not consider yourself a spiritual person, nor do we insist on a particular belief system. This is only to say that our orientation integrates this awareness as an element of healing. Our ultimate goal is to empower you to free yourself from the patterns that keep you from fully thriving and to help you create the life you want to be living. It is an act of courage, not weakness, to allow others to help you.
Making the first call is sometimes the hardest part of the therapeutic process. I commend you for your strength and courage in seeking help. One of the most important steps of pursuing counseling is finding a passionate, knowledgeable, and trusting therapist that you feel comfortable with. One that will sit with you through your difficult moments and help you to recognize or remind you of your strength. If a mood disorder or anxiety is taking control of your life, I can help you to learn how to manage it. If you are experiencing challenges with your significant other(s), friends, family members I can help you to improve the connection, understanding, and intimacy. Do you just need someone to check in with, someone to vent to in a judgment-free environment, a place to chat about and figure out all of the challenging transitions in your life? I am here for you, holding space for you, rooting for you, encouraging you, holding you accountable if needed, and empowering you. Do you or your partner have concerns about sexual issues including but not limited to; sexual desire/arousal, interests, orientation, impulsivity, compulsivity, erectile functioning, trouble reaching orgasm, painful intercourse, intimacy issues related to disability or chronic condition, or concerns regarding past unwanted sexual experiences? Hi, I'm Caily and I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a passion for helping young adults feel empowered, understood, and supported. I earned my Master's degree from Bridgewater State University (2020) after completing my undergraduate degree at Emmanuel College (2017). I know therapy can feel intimidating at first, so I work hard to create a space where you can feel safe to show up exactly as you are. We’ll collaborate to define what you want to get out of therapy, and then break those goals into small, meaningful, and achievable steps. If you are interested in setting up an initial consult, please contact me via email or find me on Headway!
Many people I work with describe their struggles with self-doubt, persistent worries, irrational fears, and "overthinking" tendencies, saying that they second-guess themselves and struggle to quiet their anxious thoughts. Often, these struggles are a result of past traumatic events that have shaped how the brain perceives the world. Other times, these struggles may trace back to unhelpful messaging from outside sources, which can result in learned behaviors, patterns, and ways of thinking that promote anxiety, worry, and shame. I use modalities such as EMDR, psychodynamic therapy, and CBT to support clients with these struggles. Therapy can support us to uncover and understand the impacts that traumas and other past events have on how we navigate the world. This awareness, coupled with therapeutic interventions, can support us to heal from past hardships and make changes to the learned survival techniques that are no longer serving us. Those who work with me describe me as compassionate, accepting, and interactive in my approach, and I strive to create a comfortable and judgment-free environment for my clients. I offer online scheduling, specialized, evidence-based approaches, and brief, no-cost phone consultations. I encourage you to reach out to see if working together may be a good fit!
If you are struggling with a life transition, relationship issue or feeling stuck in a cycle of worry or sadness, I am here to listen to you and help. Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing, gain insight into deeply rooted patterns of behavior, and identify skills to help you live life according to your own values. My style is active and engaged, and my clients find therapy to be a safe, supportive and collaborative space. I believe that kindness, warmth, humor and curiosity are vital to a successful therapeutic experience, and that every person has strengths that can assist them in navigating the obstacles they face. I have specialized in working with college and graduate students for the past nine years. Treatment is tailored to each individual using an integrative approach. I currently practice through Telehealth for clients in NY, CT, and MA. One of the most important elements of successful therapy is your connection with your therapist. Please reach out to me to schedule a 15 minute phone consultation to decide if we would be a good fit. I look forward to beginning our work together!

Hi, I’m Ben Borkan, and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Gestalt Therapist. I primarily work with couples using Crucible® Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. However, I occasionally see individuals who are looking to work on their own relationships. I did not initially start out seeing couples. I began my career in wilderness therapy, where I guided groups of young adults and saw the impact of social relationships on individuals’ development, both from family systems and also in the healing work that can be accomplished in a group setting. My work in wilderness therapy inspired me to pursue clinical social work at Smith College School for Social Work where I received my MSW. In the past decade I have worked in a variety of settings, practicing various modalities with individuals, couples, families and groups. Therapy combines both my passion for learning and my desire to help others grow. Gestalt and Crucible Therapy are two approaches I find most empowering both personally and professionally. While different, each approach is strengths-based and takes a holistic and real view of people, and how relationships and marriage work. They are also backed with research and evidence that supports their effectiveness in helping people with their relationships. I received my Certificate in Gestalt Therapy at Gestalt Institute of the Rockies in Golden, CO where I learned how to work with people, including myself, to rewire obstacles to authenticity and intimacy. More recently, I began training in Crucible® Therapy; an approach that incorporates neuroscience to help people move past projections, behaviors, and thoughts that inhibit intimacy. I take pride in the work I do and do “the work” from these approaches in my personal life. I want to share what I have learned to help people experience similar sustained and meaningful change in their relationships.
