Anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders ARE treatable. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life transitions when fear, panic, and OCD interfere with daily functioning and longer-term progress. With compassion and experience, I aim to empower you to overcome obstacles, develop resilience, and achieve emotional well-being. I use evidence-based treatments of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), as well as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to help you experience symptom relief and work toward future goals. I have a particular interest in women’s mental health, recognizing the immense physical and emotional challenges that accompany pregnancy, motherhood, and menopause. Having raised three children of my own (ages 17, 21, and 23), I have developed a mature perspective on problem-solving and empowering other women toward strength and adaptability. I offer support to parents around parenthood, raising young children and teenagers, and approaching and managing “empty” nests. I also have experience working with children and adolescents struggling with acute anxiety. I hold an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and am pursuing my Master’s degree in Social Work at Boston College. I am committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those around me and have a long-standing dedication to community and volunteer work.

Life is wonderful and really hard at the same time. Sometimes, our struggles take over and interfere with our ability to appreciate the things we love and care about. When this happens, it can turn into developing unhealthy ways of coping and a cycle of suffering. My goal is to help you learn how to reduce suffering and to develop healthier ways of coping. My approach is behavioral; we will work together towards specific goals in a proactive manner. Clients describe me as gentle, humorous, understanding, and change-oriented. I have extensive experience treating eating disorders and anxiety disorders. I practice using an evidence-based treatment model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model, which utilizes mindfulness, cognitive interventions, exposure techniques, and movement towards goals and values. I can also help you if you are struggling with life transitions, relationship problems, or a sense of feeling stuck in your life. I firmly believe that most people would benefit from therapy.

I have extensive experience treating anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and ADHD. My listening style is warm and interactive. Anxiety and depression can make college feel overwhelming—constant worry, overthinking, feeling on edge, sudden waves of panic, or getting stuck in “what if” thoughts and mental loops. For some students, it also shows up as perfectionism, needing things to feel just right, or feeling driven to overanalyze, check, or mentally replay situations. For others, they get stuck and can't make decisions, start tasks, and quickly fall behind. My work with students is practical, goal-focused, and skills-based. Together, we focus on tools you can actually use in daily life—learning how to step out of worry and mental loops, tolerate uncertainty and distress, understand and name emotions, and respond more flexibly when strong, uncomfortable emotions show up. We’ll also look at how your emotions influence your choices, habits, and relationships, and work toward changes that help you move forward. The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety or other uncomfortable emotions completely, but to help emotions to have less control over your thoughts, decisions, and day-to-day life so you can feel more present and grounded. My focus is on individual therapy for anxiety, social anxiety, panic, OCD, adjustment issues, depression and trauma focused therapy for PTSD.

Emotions, transitions, and life challenges can feel overwhelming for many people. My goal is to help you feel more in control, find peace in your day-to-day, and work towards your goals for wellness. I work with adults and teens who are dealing with issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or life transitions. Together, we’ll work towards understanding your emotions and behaviors in a supportive, empathetic, nonjudgmental environment. My style is warm, collaborative, strength-based and goal oriented. I focus on a holistic approach to counseling and meeting you where you are at in your process. I take an integrative approach to therapy, combining evidence-based techniques such as CBT and mindfulness practices with psychodynamic insight. I believe that therapy is a journey of self-discovery and growth, so we’ll work together to identify the causes of your challenges, develop coping strategies, and create lasting change. Therapy is a partnership, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and heard. In our work together, I’ll provide a space where you can speak freely without judgment, and I’ll support you as you explore your feelings, thoughts, experiences, and behaviors. Everyone has the potential for growth and healing, and I’m here to help guide that process.

Is anxiety or depression getting in the way of the life that you want to lead? Do you want to move towards independence but feel confused or overwhelmed? Are you questioning your sexuality or gender identity? I am here to help. I offer a calming, nonjudgmental presence providing support and helping you to learn new ways of overcoming the difficulties that you face. My approach is client-centered and I am continually impressed with the strength and resilience of the clients that I work with. I work with adults (18 and up) but particularly enjoy working with young adults transitioning to independence and LGBTQIA people. It can be frightening to reach out for assistance, especially if you have not been in therapy before. I have been told by past clients that my calm demeanor and gentle approach have helped them to overcome their reservations and fully engage in the healing process.
