Therapists for college students near Indianapolis, IN
I enjoy working with college students from all walks of life. I specializes in depression, anxiety, college life, transition, and academic stress, grief and loss (death of a loved one, pets, health, change of environment, the end of a relationship, job loss, etc.) women’s issues, relationship building, and managing life’s stressors. Rooted in a client-centered philosophy, my approach is built on mutual respect, collaboration, and a deep appreciation for each person’s autonomy and lived experience. I tailor therapy to the individual, inviting clients to take an active, empowered role in their own healing journey. I integrate this relational focus with evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered approaches. My work is always personalized to each individual’s unique needs and goals, empowering them with practical tools and deeper self-awareness along the way. I genuinely consider it an honor to walk alongside people on their life paths.
If anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, phobias or depressive thoughts take up too much space in your life, I will work with you to uncover their sources. You can establish and engage in useful coping skills that will allow you to spend less time battling your thoughts and more time living the life you want. If you're a couple struggling with relationship concerns, I will work with you to restore harmony in your relationship and strengthen your connection. I aim to provide a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their emotions, while also feeling comfortable and validated when sharing experiences, thoughts and behaviors. I practice using evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as self-compassion and mindfulness techniques. Gottman Method Couples Therapy informs my work with couples. If you choose therapy as a next step, I would be honored to work with you and support you in your journey of self-growth and healing! Scared (insert adjective) may be what you feel, brave is what you are. College- an excellent time to think about who you are and who you are becoming- not what you are doing, no, this can change. Who do you BE? And do you remember that you are loved for that being; that you are ok and not ok? Let's enjoy story, silence, and shifting the maps in our heads until we feel more confident traveling this path and seeing where it leads.
