Sometimes, life can feel heavy. Maybe it feels like no matter how much you do, it’s never enough. Maybe you feel lonely or disconnected in your relationship. Maybe you’ve already tried therapy, read the books, and still feel stuck. Or maybe things simply feel harder than they need to, and you’re ready for something to change. I work with individuals and couples who want to better understand themselves and navigate challenges with more clarity and confidence. Through curiosity and collaboration, we’ll explore patterns, build practical skills, and find what works best for you. Through my experience in private practice and community mental health, I’ve had the opportunity to support people through challenges related to anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, sex, neurodivergence, and women’s health. My approach is collaborative, warm, and direct. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, Attachment Theory, Mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems. As a Gottman Certified Clinician, I also support monogamous and ethically non-monogamous couples in exploring the complexities of sex and relationships, whether they are navigating disconnection, conflict, changing relationship structures, or exploring desires. Building fulfilling, loving relationships—with yourself or with your loved ones—can be hard work, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Together, we can work through the messy parts with humor and lightness along the way. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to connect. Give me a call or schedule a free, 15-minute consultation so we can see if we might be a good fit.

First of all, I appreciate your time reviewing my profile. Here's what you can expect from our work together: I deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally competent treatment for a wide range of mental health diagnoses and substance use disorders. In every session, I aim to empower clients with mental health education, acknowledge strengths, and bring compassion and honesty to vulnerable moments in therapy. It is my hope that we can spend time understanding how past experiences are influencing the present and work towards more authenticity and self-led actions in the future. Skilled in Acceptance and Commitment, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy techniques, I assist clients to develop deeper self-awareness and mindfulness, process underlying feelings and beliefs, improve psychological flexibility, and strengthen coping skills as clients work towards their specific goals. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling along with an additional certifications in trauma, sex-informed counseling, substance use counseling, and grief and loss. I use an integrated, person-centered approach to treat a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, panic, life/education/career transitions, trauma, struggles with interpersonal relationships and attachment, ADHD, self-esteem, chronic mental health issues, and less healthy coping mechanisms such as substance use, people-pleasing, self-criticism, and other self-punishing behaviors. Please reach out if you have any specific questions/concerns, I would be happy to address them with you. Certifications: LCPC, CADC, ADHD-CCPS, CCTP, CAGCS, CSTIP

My work as a therapist is deeply rooted in connection. Creating a safe space is essential in order to explore and uncover unconscious thoughts and feelings. Considering important aspects of connection such as attachment style, communication, and intimacy can enhance not only the relationship with one’s self, but also with others. I am passionate about working with individuals who have survived trauma, live with anxiety, depression, grief, codependence, as well as interpersonal and internal conflict. My individualized care caters to each client and meets them where they are, while considering each of their identities. Building strong connections with each client is essential as well as my belief that each person is the expert of their own experience. I have worked with many students and understand academic stress as well as the many adjustments that come along with being a student in higher education. I am here to provide support, understanding, and non-judgement.

Daniel earned his MA in Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago and has extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) that informs his use of other evidence-based practices such as CBT, ACT, and Exposure Therapy. Daniel is also trained in and utilizes Written Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and DBT Prolonged Exposures as discreet trauma protocols for clients suffering from acute trauma symptoms. Due to his history and love of teaching in group therapy settings, Daniel emphasizes psychoeducation and a mindful, non-judgmental approach to help his clients see themselves in a more understanding and self-compassionate way that allows them to strip away the shame, guilt, and fear preventing them from curating their desired life worth living. Daniel prioritizes teaching DBT Skills, Polyvagal Theory, and Somatic experiences in his work with individuals, couples, and family systems. “If you’ve ever felt like you needed someone who just gets it, or if you’ve ever wanted a therapist who feels like a “real person” then you’ve come to the right place. How can I ask you to be your true, vulnerable self without also being vulnerable myself? I want to be on your journey of highs and lows with you and to teach you concrete skills along the way that will help you break free from patterns that you feel powerless to change. I’m looking forward to working with you and teaching you to see yourself, the world, and others, in totally new ways!”

I am a queer mental health professional who uses trauma-informed care to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for all clients of any background. I often work with adults who typically present cPTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), perfectionism, and identity/self-esteem issues. Many come to me seeking help for their religious trauma, betrayal/abandonment trauma, complex relationship dynamics, grief work, somatic work and exploring sex therapy issues. I take a client-centered, anti-harm approach using my training in psychoanalysis. I find it the most helpful to explore attachment trauma and stress responses in the nervous system. The mind and body are connected, exploring healing beyond talk therapy can provide significant insight into a person’s identity and personal needs. It can be difficult finding a clinician who is a good fit, which is understandable, and it can result in feelings of discouragement. I encourage you to reach out anyway to give yourself a chance to experience something new. You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me to discuss your needs and goals regarding treatment, then proceed from there.
