L Shaw Behavioral Health Solutions, LLC
Hello. I'm Dr. LaShara Shaw. I believe that we have basic needs. We have needs for personal power, freedom, fun, survival, and secure connections (a choice-theory perspective). Sometimes these needs are not met or we have difficulty attending to them. I think it is crucial to reflect upon what matters in your life and what you consider your responsibility to achieve a flourishing life. Sometimes thoughts, insecurities, and behaviors can be taught, and they do not serve us in the best capacity. In those instances, I believe that humans are capable of learning new things. There is power and brevity in recognizing choices, and there is autonomy to choose how to engage with those circumstances through the collaborative process. Patricia Fehr
Trish Fehr is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois who has been practicing since 1994. She earned her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University and also holds a Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Illinois University. Trish offers patients a safe place to explore how their past is impacting their current choices. A judgement free journey to examine what is and is not working for them related to coping choices. Trish provides evidence-based treatment interventions to educate, train, and support a patient as they learn healthier ways to manage stress by building awareness of cognitions and emotions that either support or interfere with goals. Trish and the clients discuss stage of change issues as they evolve their awareness so they can accept themselves and others where they are. Her goal is to assist them in developing an internal locus of control so they can respond rather than react to people, places, and circumstances they encounter.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn, you’re not alone. I take a holistic view of care and strive to create a calm, nonjudgmental virtual space where you can speak openly and feel supported. Reaching out for help can feel like the hardest step. Kaleb Nelson (he/him)
Existing in the world right now may feel overwhelming and reaching out for support may be even more daunting. Maybe you've struggled to feel safe enough in your body to tend to your own needs. Or maybe you've felt disconnected from yourself and adrift in your relationships. However lost or stuck you may be feeling, you deserve an inclusive space to feel valued and held. Building on the inner resilience you already hold, together we can practice slowing down, invite curiosity and compassion into your life, and expand your comfort zones to make life more manageable and meaningful. My style is warm, relational, and collaborative and my approach is rooted in anti-oppressive practice, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction principles. I view therapy as a space that we build together and offer an eclectic range of tools and perspectives to meet your unique needs. As a queer and trans therapist, I believe that therapy can be a powerful tool in our path towards collective liberation. I accept Quartz, Dean, GHC-SCW (under Mental Health Collective) insurances.
Markay Harmon LTD
I graduated from Illinois State University in Normal, IL with my Bachelors of Social Work. I continued my education and graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign, IL with my Masters of Social Work, specializing in mental health. While earning my graduate degree I worked on an inpatient psychiatric floor at Methodist Hospital. Mainly I worked with adults experiencing severe mental illness, however, I was also able to work with adolescents and the geriatric population from time to time. Simultaneously, I worked for a local high school as a long-term substitute teacher which provided me the opportunity of working closely with teens and their guardians. Additionally, I completed my internship in the Behavioral Health Emergency Department at Methodist Hospital where I completed assessments and linked people with resources in the community. Upon graduating, I moved to Virginia with my husband who was serving in the United States Navy, where I worked primarily with women on the postpartum units at Norfolk General Hospital. During my time at Norfolk General, I was able to assist women immediately following birth who were experiencing or at higher risk for postpartum depression and anxiety. I was also able to provide support to families who were experiencing an extended stay in the NICU. Since returning to Illinois, I have been back on one of the inpatient psychiatric units at Methodist Hospital working as a clinician. I have been primarily working with adults experiencing severe mental illness and their families by providing individual, family, and group therapy. In addition to therapy, I have been providing case management which has allowed me to familiarize myself with many of the local resources in the area. My husband and I are in the most amazing and exhausting time of our lives raising two toddler boys. We love spending time experiencing life through the eyes of our little boys. Family is everything to us. In my free time (what is that? ha-ha), I love watching Friends or One Tree Hill on repeat, going shopping with my mom, and playing video games. I believe in a holistic and person-centered approach. It's important to me for you to be the leader of your therapy. We will work as a team to set goals and work on what you feel is most important. I want to create a nonjudgmental and unbiased space for you to talk about the hard things. Your life is worth my time.

Everyone deserves support, however they arrive — color-coded planner in hand or running five minutes late with coffee spilled down their shirt. Anxious, calm, talkative, quiet, existentially confused — you’re welcome here. The bigger question is really: Am I your kind of therapist? You might read my profile and think, “She gets me,” or, “Why is she so emotionally invested in foxes and axolotls?” Either way, I promise I’m still licensed. I’m an LPC-MHSP, LCPC with over nine years of experience. I mainly work with PTSD, OCD, DV/SA, and BPD. I also see a range of other concerns—because humans are complex, and the universe did not consult the DSM before handing out life experiences. People usually open up more when they don’t feel pressure to perform or deliver a TED Talk about their feelings. Autonomy matters to me. You get to ask questions, collaborate on your treatment, and arrive exactly as you are — glamorously put-together or held together by three bobby pins and sheer willpower. If you need to laugh, cry, swear, or take a strategic pause while your soul hits “buffering,” that’s part of the process. Life gets messy… it's real and unfiltered. *** I schedule by appt so I do not have posted hours. Please just reach out. I am flexible!
