Welcome to Manifesting Greatness Therapy LLC, where our motto is “A safe space for healing!” Healing is unique for each person. This may include but is not limited to, repairing relationships, improving communication, learning and improving self-worth, and evaluating stagnation in your life. We strive to encourage and challenge our clients to be their best selves. This environment is a non-judgmental space where you are expected to show up with flaws and concerns to address and not feel the pressure of being perfect. You may be seeking therapy to help remove or change issues which are causing you discomfort. In addition to therapy helping you cope and reduce your distress, the process of self-discovery within the therapeutic relationship can lead to an increased understanding and acceptance of yourself. It can also lead to an expansion of comfort with all aspects of yourself. I am a clinical psychologist with 30 years’ experience working with adults, young adults, and couples in a variety of settings including private practice, hospitals, and outpatient medical clinics. I have provided therapy to patients in primary care clinics (e.g., neurology, cardiology, ob/gyn, and oncology). I work with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substances, trauma, medical concerns, or relationship difficulties. My approach is strength-based and grounded in the belief that all people are using their best skills to address the demands and challenges in their lives. I focus on being curious and nonjudgmental as I explore areas of an individual’s current functioning, those which are effective in addressing daily challenges as well as those which can interfere with effective functioning. I am also certified in EMDR which I tailor to the individual needs of my clients. Your life experiences have influenced your emotional beliefs and decisions. You use these thoughts, emotions, and deep beliefs as you interact with others and with your world. You may respond to situations in your life in ways which seem, on the surface, to be confusing or make no sense. Addressing this confusion and discomfort is an act of courage. Throughout the therapy process, we will examine these areas. My experience has been that this exploration will lead you to develop increased self-compassion, self-awareness, and self-acceptance. From this place of mindfulness, new choices and decisions emerge which will allow you to experience greater fulfillment in your life. It is a privilege for me to join clients in their exploration of themselves and their world. I look forward to working with you to investigate and discover all of who you are.
For many of us, the emotional challenges and stresses of daily life can seem overwhelming. You know you need help, but are not sure you can afford it. It is also hard to ask for help, but it is a healthy and important thing to do. When you are ready to take that step, MCS is here for you. MCS is a non-profit organization that offers high quality counseling and psychotherapy to adults in the metro Atlanta area. All of our services are provided on an affordable, sliding fee scale based on income and number of dependents. Experienced and caring professionals provide therapy in a confidential, safe, and supportive environment.
You have been trying to do the right things in your relationships but it seems like everything you do either backfires or results in the same conflict. This leaves you anxious and feeling as though there is no hope in your family, social or love life. You have the suspicion that past childhood trauma or previous feelings of abandonment are impacting your current romantic relationships. You may have explored your attachment style and want to get a handle on how to not let your past impact your future. Maybe you are someone who gets along well in your relationships - perhaps, too well because you aren’t implementing healthy boundaries. You’re drained but don’t know how to get out of the cycle because everyone now expects for you to be the “strong” friend, or adult child. Perhaps you are someone who is going through the difficult transition into separation, divorce, and or coparenting. You might even be experiencing one or any combination of the things above, and find yourself over relying on coping skills like emotional eating, drinking, using substances, etc. that are counterproductive.
Hi I'm Alison Cross! I am a psychotherapist, and I provide both in person and virtual services in Georgia and North Carolina. It’s important to have an idea of what feels like the right fit when you’re looking for a qualified person to talk to. The problem is, how do you know? So here's what it looks like with me. When my client leaves our session, my goal is for them to feel heard and respected. I want my clients to feel like they’re talking to a real person. How else can trust be built? My style has been described as 'down to earth, gentle, and encouraging.' I also have a great sense of humor that comes in only when appropriate. I view therapy as a safety net for the various issues clients bring. I will collaborate with you from the very first session on goals for your time. Some people I work with prefer to set the agenda for our time together, with just a few interjections from me. Understanding the big picture and getting to the heart of the matter are things I'm good at. I have also completed the Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems and Level 1 training in the Embodied Reocvery Model. I love using these models because they are beautifully client focused. My goal is to develop a positive therapeutic relationship with you. When that happens, hope is tangible and the spirit opens to new life and new beginnings. All sessions with me will be virtual unless I'm in Atlanta and we can coordinate an in person session.
One of my happy places is the beach. I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica and some of my most treasured memories and happiest times were spent at the beach. Living in Atlanta, I am not able to go to the beach as often as I would like, therefore, I bring the beach into my daily life through relaxation skills, music, décor, and my general mindset. As your therapist, my hope is that I can help you find your “happy place.” This may be a place, a person, a pet, an activity... anything that nourishes your mind, body and soul. I welcome the opportunity to help you learn how to develop solutions, feel empowered, and create a healthy lifestyle filled with joy, stability, self-acceptance, emotional well-being, and ultimately, happiness.

Not unlike many within this field, my own experiences with mental health influenced my decision to become a therapist. Through my own struggles in my young life, I found a passion for hearing other people’s experiences and empowering others to identify and utilize their strengths in moments of hardship. A couple of areas I specialize in navigating are: Ideas of perfectionism Developing self-compassion Exploring one’s cultural identity Coping with and understanding feeling “not good enough" Overcoming the stress of living up to expectations (cultural, intrapersonal, societal, parental) Setting boundaries Feeling torn between two or more cultures Feelings of shame, worry, or guilt I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and I have a particular skill in working with people of color, first and second-generation immigrants, and folks new to therapy. Additionally, I deeply understand, honor, and respect the South Asian and Middle Eastern religions and cultures.
My practice focuses on helping clients address concerns related to anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns (i.e. communication issues, lack of trust, recent break-up, etc.). As a therapist, I am down to earth and relatable. I value taking a directive approach in effort to getting to the root of the issue while helping you identify and implement effective coping strategies to help you live a more fulfilling life.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and yoga instructor. I take an holistic, integrative approach to mental health treatment assisting my clients in building healthy lifestyles that provide proactive protection, maintenance, and or obtainment of optimal mental health and wellness. A holistic approach means that we will explore how mindful awareness, relationships, meaningful academic/career pursuits, sleep, nutrition, rest and relaxation, environment, conventional and complementary medical care, finances, and spirituality, are impacting your mental health and wellbeing. I assist my clients in getting to the root causes of their inability to make and sustain healthy lifestyle practices. This often includes supporting my clients in identifying core beliefs and societal pressures that influence their unhealthy, limiting, and ineffective behaviors. With this increased awareness, I support my clients in courageously aligning their actions with their personal passions, desires, and values.
