I have experience in working with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and school stress. I spent more than two years working at Cornell's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), which provided me with deep knowledge of the ins and outs of their mental health system, along with the pressures that one can face at college in regard to competition, academic stress, and building social connection. Being from upstate NY, I also understand some of the isolative parts of the experience, and adjustment to the uniqueness of the region. I am grateful to have a chance to share this experience and apply it to the therapy space. I gather inspiration from a variety of backgrounds and techniques, and use an eclectic style in therapy. It is extremely important that there is a safe space to explore thoughts and feelings. I have found that individuals have a great deal of success when we work on the relationship between their thoughts and emotions. I encourage you to reach out if you want to talk more about the specifics of what therapy could look like, and to have a conversation about how to improve your life and reach your goals.

Great to meet you! Hi, I’m Angela. I’ve been supporting people through life’s ups and downs for many years, and I believe that we all deserve understanding, kindness, and a space where we can explore what’s really going on for us. I work with individuals, couples, and families — including kids, teens, adults, and seniors — who are facing things like anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD challenges, stress in relationships, or family issues. No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to help you feel heard and supported as you make healthier choices and create the life you want. A bit about my approach to therapy I bring warmth, openness, and a “we’re in this together” attitude to our work. Clients describe me as understanding, genuine, and easy to talk to — someone who laughs with you, sits with the hard moments, and doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff. We’ll talk it out, make space for the stories you bring, and work through challenges at a pace that feels right for you. My style is solution-oriented and open-minded, and you’ll always be met with respect and curiosity. What you can expect from our first session In our first session, you can expect to feel welcomed and genuinely listened to. We’ll focus on understanding what’s been pulling at you and what you hope to change. You’ll leave with a sense of clarity, some early ideas for what we might explore together, and a feeling that this is a safe space where you can show up as you are. Over time, many people find they feel more confident handling life’s stresses, stronger in their relationships, and better equipped with tools to move forward with purpose and resilience.

College can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming at times. Are you struggling with transitions, depression, stress, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, or other mental health challenges? You do not have to navigate it alone. We provide a supportive space to help college students feel understood, build confidence, and create meaningful change.

Hello! I'm so glad you're taking this step for your mental health. I went to the therapy for the first time while attending college (at USC too!), and it was pivotal for me. I really value working with college students, and genuinely appreciate how much you have to do deal with. Maybe you're struggling with transitions - adjusting to the start of college, or facing the daunting landscape post-graduation. Maybe you can feel all the pressures mounting to the point where you feel paralyzed and burnt out and confused. Maybe you'd like for just one thing - anything - to be taken off your plate, or for the load to be shared somehow. Maybe you're even trying to figure yourself out beyond the story that's been your life so far. I'd like to help make things seem clearer, or kinder, or safer, and I think we can do it together. I offer 45-minute sessions, as well as longer 90-minute sessions, to fit what you might need best. I also offer letters for medical transition, disability, ESA, and can complete return to school forms.

Originally from SoCal, I have lived in Athens for a total of ten years, have two adult children, and have worked extensively with college students, at both UGA and CSUN. Although it needs to be challenging at times, my goal is to make therapy a very positive, fun, and productive experience for you. I work together with you, utilizing cognitive-behavioral techniques, with an emphasis on solution-based therapy. Having spent almost nine years post-grad (3.5 years Masters, 5 years Doctorate), I personally know the challenges of being a student. I personalize my approach to be the one that is most effective for " you." We will work to find healthy changes that are important in assisting you to be happier, less anxious or depressed, and more fulfilled.

Greetings! Secular psychotherapist here. Is taking care of everyone but yourself breaking you down? Tired of being called “co-dependent”? Do you have beliefs that are different from others and feel a little “off”? Are you becoming more and more anxious or depressed? You're not alone. I help those looking for a professional confidant and can help with processing difficult transitions and even traumas. Maybe the transition you are going through is attempting to go back to school after a divorce, juggling taking care of aging parents while raising a family of your own, etc. Or perhaps you are having difficulty setting boundaries with a toxic person in your life. Perhaps you are having difficulty with relationships due to a past that seems ever so present. My therapeutic style is empathetic and interpersonal. I use evidence-based talk therapy (Acceptance & Commitment, Narrative, etc.) and mindfulness techniques. I believe in our getting to know one another well over time. I welcome diversity in my practice, including those with other than traditional orientations: religious, sexual, gender, or otherwise. Contact me today to set up an appointment for a free consult at OwnYourMindLLC@protonmail.com or call/ text 470.868.0554. Ask about sliding scale for college students.

I believe that mental health is a journey of piecing together multiple working parts, and I hope to be a part of that process with you. About Me I hold a PhD in Social Work and I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving the states of Georgia and Maryland. I received my PhD from the University of Alabama, my MSW from the University of Georgia, and BA from The University of Alabama. I have multiple years of clinical experience among various populations (children, teens, families, and young adults), various backgrounds, and in numerous settings (residential, inpatient, outpatient, private practice). I also currently hold an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Social Work. I am someone with whom people generally feel at ease and comfortable, which is an important part of what makes therapy work. My initial goal within the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with just that: a positive, safe, and comfortable place, where you feel at ease to talk about things that matter to you. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my pets, finding challenging hikes, cooking/baking, going to the beach/finding water, gardening, exploring the city, and spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy picking up new creative projects and DIYs! Who I Help & What I Help With Who I Can Help 1. Children (6-12) 2. Teens (13-17) 3. Emerging & Young Adults (18-29) 4. Adult Couples What I Can Help With 1. Relationship issues or losing a relationship 2. Adjusting to and navigating life transitions 3. Improving unhealthy/disruptive habits and behaviors 4. Feeling sad or depressed 5. Trauma and loss 6. Feeling overwhelmed or anxious 7. Feeling alone or disconnected from others 8. Experiencing stress at work, school, or home 9. Conflict resolution and problem-solving 10. Learning to value and love yourself My Approach Types of Therapies It’s not uncommon for someone to enter therapy a bit nervous and with no clear sense of where to start – they simply want things to change for the better and to feel like themselves again. You are the expert of your own experience, but it’s easy to lose your way and feel lost when in distress. I will meet you wherever you are and help you piece things back to a sense of what normal feels like for you. The best approach is one that works for you, so I may draw on several different approaches to therapy, all of which have been shown by research to help individuals reduce stress, gain clarity, and make changes in their lives. They include but are not limited to: 1. Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) 2. Psychodynamic Therapy 3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) 4. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) 5. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) 6. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) 7. Person-Centered Therapy 8. Narrative Therapy 9. Culturally Sensitive Therapy Services & Payment Things to Know First 1. At this time, all sessions will be remote/virtual and take place through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. 2. You may choose the mode with which you are most comfortable (i.e., video, phone). 3. Virtual sessions are a great option for accessibility and flexibility, but please be sure to first, consider whether this is the most appropriate option for you at this time. How to Get Started Ready to get started? For scheduling of any kind (free consult, intake, regular sessions, etc.), just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of this website. You can schedule your first appointment on your own and whenever you’re ready with no initial contact required. Please note that I am committed to your privacy. Therefore, please do not include confidential or private information if you choose to email or call. Further and more detailed information will be exchanged through a fully HIPAA compliant platform called SimplePractice. I look forward to speaking with you! Visits with me typically involve the following types of sessions: Intake Session: Assessment & Planning (60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $200) It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist, and while you have the option of beginning with a phone consultation or intake session, the first few sessions serve to help you and me decide whether the therapeutic relationship will be the best fit. The intake also serves as an Assessment and Planning phase, which is focused on learning more in depth about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. This phase also allows me to begin putting together a plan for future sessions if you are comfortable with moving forward. All follow up sessions after the initial intake session will be considered a regular therapy session. Regular Individual Therapy Session (30-60 minutes, Accepts Insurance, Private Pay Rate: $90-$180) Following the Assessment and Planning phase, we’ll decide when and how often to meet. Session time frames depend on your treatment needs and personal circumstances and are guided by the plan we develop together. Please note that 30-minute sessions are private pay only. These sessions may work well for children and adolescents, day-to-day check-ins, more solution-focused sessions, quicker access to therapy, etc. Regular Family Therapy Session With Client (30 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $108, Private Pay Only) When needed, family sessions provide an opportunity to strengthen communication, address relational dynamics, and support your child or adolescent’s progress in treatment. These sessions may include parents/guardians, caregivers, and/or siblings depending on the goals we establish together. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Brief Family Therapy Session Without Client (15 minutes; Child & Adolescent Only, $54, Private Pay Only) These brief check-ins offer a dedicated space for parents and caregivers to share observations, ask questions, and stay connected to their child’s therapeutic progress without the client present. They are not a replacement for regular family sessions but rather, serve as a lightweight touchpoint between sessions when needed. Please note that all family sessions of any length are private pay only. Couples Therapy Session (60 minutes; $216, Private Pay Only) Couples therapy sessions provide a structured space to address relational concerns, improve communication, and work toward shared goals within the relationship. These sessions are designed to support both partners in understanding relational patterns, navigating conflict more effectively, and building a stronger foundation for daily functioning together. Please note that all couples therapy sessions of any length are private pay only. Payment Options In-Network Insurance & Third-Party Payers I currently accept the following insurance plans in Georgia: 1. Aetna 2. Cigna/Evernorth 3. United Healthcare/UBH/Optum 4. Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans I currently accept the following insurance plans in Maryland: 1. Aetna 2. Cigna/Evernorth 3. United Healthcare/UBH/Optum 4. Medicaid/Carelon Behavioral Health 5. Medicare & Medicare Advantage Plans This means that if you are enrolled in any of these plans (or potentially any of their subsidiaries), your out-of-pocket expense is limited to your deductible and copay/coinsurance. While I can assist in determining what these costs will be, it may be helpful to ask your insurance provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 2. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *I am currently working to become a provider in network with Anthem as well as any applicable subsidiaries under Anthem in the state of Georgia. I am also currently working to become a provider in network with CareFirst as well as any applicable subsidiaries under CareFirst in the state of Maryland. Private Pay & Out-of-Network Reimbursement I also accept private pay, and if you have another insurance provider, you may also have out-of-network benefits. With this option, your insurance benefits may reimburse the majority of the cost of therapy. With both private pay and out-of-network reimbursement, you will be provided with automatic invoices, statements, and superbills for any needed reimbursements later from your insurance provider. I recommend calling your insurance provider to learn more about how reimbursement works. It may be helpful to ask your provider the following questions prior to your intake session: 1. Does my plan provide out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services? 2. What is my deductible and how much is remaining? 3. What percentage of payments for outpatient mental health services does my plan cover after the deductible is met? *Lack of insurance coverage, privacy concerns, flexibility, and quicker access to care are only a few of the reasons why one might choose this option. Cancellation Policy All clients are required to have an active credit/debit card on file at the time of scheduling an appointment. For appointment no-shows, last-minute cancellations, or inactive insurance, you will be charged in full regardless of reason. This is necessary, as a time commitment is made and held exclusively for you. You may still apply this fee to future appointments. Contact Me Ready to get started? For scheduling of any kind (free consult, intake, regular sessions, etc.), just head to the “Contact Me” tab or the “book appointment” link at the bottom of every page of this website. You can schedule your first appointment on your own and whenever you’re ready with no initial contact required. Please note that I am committed to your privacy. Clinical Social Work/Therapist

Athens, GA

I am a clinical social worker who provides individual therapy for adults. As a therapist my role is to provide a non-judgmental, safe environment for individuals to explore their life issues and support them in their personal growth. I find that a lot of us struggle with listening to our inner critic and often beat ourselves up for past regrets, as well as spending a lot of valuable time worrying about the past and the "what if's" in the future. I hope we can work together to quiet this critic and find a way to enjoy the present. My experience includes working with individuals in therapy addressing relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and assertiveness skills. I also work with individuals dealing with adjustments to major life changes, including adjusting to college. I also have experience working with individuals who identify as LGBTQ. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in practice, but may also utilize other treatment approaches as appropriate for each individual. I encourage self-care and self-nurturing activities to support therapy. Contact me today to get started on this journey together. I can also provide ESA letters if appropriate for housing needs.

When counseling, I look at the whole person not just the current situation. I take time to get to know you and understand your situation and/or concerns. I treat all my clients with the utmost respect and compassion. I use motivational skills to help my patients see their strengths and help them create achievable goals. I believe in breaking the big goal into smaller goals that lead to meeting that larger goal. I believe this creates positive reinforcement for my clients and improves their emotional health, during what could be a difficult time in their life. I look forward to helping you improve your mental health, one step at a time

Hi, I’m Ashley! I help people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by life’s challenges to find clarity, balance, and a renewed sense of control. Many of my clients come to me while dealing with trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, or stress. Together, we work toward healing and building a life that feels more grounded and fulfilling. My style is down-to-earth and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine, human conversation - one rooted in trust, curiosity, and compassion. You don’t have to have everything figured out; my role is to help you explore what’s happening beneath the surface, uncover your strengths, and support your growth every step of the way. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Together, we’ll build skills to challenge unhelpful thoughts, regulate emotions, and cultivate greater self-awareness. We’ll also explore your personal narrative and work toward creating a healing shift in perspective. Above all, I tailor each session to meet your unique needs, pace, and goals. Life can be messy and uncertain, but you don’t have to face it alone. Whether you’re hoping to manage stress more effectively, heal from past pain, or simply feel more like yourself again, I’d be honored to support you on this journey. After our time together, you will feel confident, empowered, and more centered in yourself. You will be able to navigate unexpected barriers with greater clarity and resilience, and hopefully experience a deeper sense of peace in your worldview. When you’re ready, let’s take that next step together.

Pre-Licensed Professional

Kennesaw, GA

Hello! My name is Sang-Mi Lee (she/they), and I am an MSW student at the University of Georgia. Prior to pursuing my master’s, I earned my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Asian-American studies from Washington University in St. Louis. I believe that finding pride in your authentic self is one of the most important (and scary!) journeys we take throughout our lives. As a Korean-American member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am well-versed in navigating multiple identities and wish to provide support and guidance for those who may be feeling lost. Alongside my therapeutic studies, I have spent many years working in psychological research with an emphasis on wellness across the lifespan and developing one’s purpose in life. My publications have focused specifically on helping disenfranchised and minoritized individuals receive the best support possible for their development. I am also interested in the intersection of mental and physical health, and want to promote treatment adherence and positive lifestyle changes for those living with both physical and psychiatric diseases. I am honored to be a part of the Roll for Wellness team as a lifelong nerd and gamer. Whether it’s roleplaying during a TTRPG or crafting a cosplay for your next anime convention, I believe an abundance of self-confidence and healing can take place while engaging in creative pursuits. However, artistic creation can be a slippery slope as we constantly battle with imposter syndrome and perfectionism. Together, we can identify your strengths and use your passions to support your overall health and wellbeing. When I’m not working, I love doing puzzles with my family, cuddling my doggies, or playing video games with my friends!
