Therapists for college students near 80204
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or disconnected? You’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work best with college and graduate students who are carrying a lot on their shoulders, even if it doesn’t always show on the outside. Many of the students I support are struggling with anxiety, stress, or burnout. They may be navigating big life transitions like starting college, transferring, or getting close to graduation. Some are dealing with family stress, relationship challenges, or attachment issues. Others are carrying the impact of past trauma or loss. Many feel disconnected from themselves and unsure of who they are or what direction they want to take. You might look high-functioning on the outside but feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or numb on the inside. You may be the one everyone depends on, yet you rarely feel supported yourself. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place. My approach is warm, grounded, and trauma-informed. That means we go at your pace, focus on helping your nervous system feel safer, and work on real-life tools you can actually use between sessions. You do not need to have the right words or a clear goal before starting. Showing up as you are is enough. If you are a student who wants to feel more steady, more connected, and more like yourself again, I would love to support you.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who works primarily with adolescents and adults, with a particular interest in supporting college students and young adults. I enjoy working with people navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, identity development, major life transitions, and the pressures that can come with academics, athletics, work, and figuring out what comes next. My approach to therapy is collaborative, active, and individualized. I draw from evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioral, acceptance-based, and trauma-informed approaches, while recognizing that therapy should not feel like a one-size-fits-all process. I work to understand both what someone is struggling with and the broader context of their life, relationships, values, strengths, and goals. I aim to create a space where clients can be candid about what is going well, what is not, and what they would like to change. Depending on a client's needs, our work may involve developing practical strategies for managing symptoms, understanding patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships, processing difficult experiences, or identifying ways to live more consistently with their values. My goal is for therapy to provide both a supportive relationship and meaningful, practical movement toward the changes that matter to each client.
Hi! I'm glad you're here. Being a student is not just about learning whatever you're studying; it's also a dynamic time in your life. A time during which you may be learning about yourself and others through new experiences. You may be navigating familiar and unfamiliar challenges, some of which can impact your sense of well-being and your mental health. In my experience, we all need support at times in our lives to overcome obstacles, explore our choices, and to strengthen our relationship with ourselves and others. I am passionate about working with students struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship and family concerns, sexual assault, identity and self-esteem, career and academic struggle, grief and loss, and life transitions. Additionally, I have 5+ years working with students and professionals in the STEM field. Thank you for taking steps to address your mental health by looking into therapy. You deserve to live a life full of vitality.
Do you ever feel like whatever normal is, it just isn't you? Do you feel like you need to diminish yourself in order to "get along", or like you are always getting in your own way? My passion is to help you tune in to and express the "you" that feels most authentic. I work with teens and adults around issues of ADHD and anxiety, trauma, gender and sexual identity, open relationships/ENM and healthy boundaries, and navigating a changing world. I specialize with recent ADHD diagnoses.
If you've been the victim of a sexual assault, violence, or if you've had relationship struggles or trauma, or family trauma, I would love to help you heal from these experiences so you can step into the healthiest, fullest, version of yourself. In my work I have helped clients find self empowerment and heal from wounds, old and new, to develop a greater sense of who they truly are. You won't forget what happened to you, but you don't have to be held down by it either. In our work, we will address these concerns from a compassionate, trauma informed approach so that you can feel freedom from the what holds you back from living as your most confident, authentic, self! In 2015, I began my own therapy journey, and it truly transformed my life. Understanding myself better and gaining awareness of why I respond the way I do gave me a sense of control and empowerment that I had never experienced before. For the first time, I realized that I could change how I show up in my daily life, how I respond to challenges, and how I engage in relationships. This profound experience inspired me to pursue a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, so I could help others feel the same sense of empowerment and growth. I prioritize creating a space where my clients feel heard, seen, and validated. When they're ready, I gently challenge them to increase their self-awareness, shift their perspectives, and focus on what they can control. My approach is rooted in compassion and understanding, and I use a combination of person-centered therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help my clients process trauma, manage anxiety, and build healthier thought patterns.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly 15 years of experience and I’m passionate about partnering with individuals on their journey toward improved health and well-being. As a health psychologist, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life as they navigate the challenges that often accompany mental and physical health concerns. Currently, I specialize in supporting adolescents and adults dealing with stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and other health-related issues. A bit about my approach to therapy: I believe therapy is a deeply personal experience, and it’s essential to understand and support the whole person. It’s important to me that every individual feels respected, heard, and that the goals we work toward in therapy are collaborative and meaningful. My hope is that each person feels supported as they make progress toward their goals and gain tools they can carry with them outside of therapy.
ABOUT ME: I have a Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicine ( BAMS) from India and a Masters (MSEd) from University of Dayton, Ohio. I am licensed by the State of Ohio as a Professional Counselor, license number C.0600087, and also by the State of Colorado, License No. LPC.0012340. MY PHILOSOPHY: As a Counselor, Coach and Ayurvedic Consultant I approach the therapeutic process from a holistic view point. I believe that the integration of the body, mind and spirit is an essential expression of personal health. Many of today’s Mental, Physical and Social Illnesses stem from a lack of integration-disintegration, resulting in persons dissociated from themselves, the community and the environment. My focus is on the whole person, with special emphasis on how the mind is connected directly to the body and how a person thinks, feels and acts. Emphasis will be on wellness, with symptoms seen as calls to self-realization. MY SPECIALTIES: Individual counseling services for disorders such as: Anxiety Spectrum disorders like: Panic Attacks, PTSD, OCD, Social anxiety, Phobias, IBS, Stress management and Worry; Depressive disorders like: Mania, Bipolar disorder, Post-partum depression, and Depression; Sleep disorders like Insomnia and sleep/wake disorders Group practice: I have a team of counselors who work with me. In the event that so don’t have openings my team will be able to help with the case load.
I aim to guide clients in discovering their patterns and getting off autopilot to begin living a life they choose! I am strongly connected with non-traditional lifestyles and work to cultivate a safe place for all people, most frequently working with clients in queer, non-monogamous, & kink relationships. Most of my clients are wanting to work on issues mostly unrelated to but within the context of these communities and lifestyles, and are tired of having to spend so much time explaining the context to therapists unfamiliar with their world. I also work with folks looking to explore these aspects of themselves for the first time. Growing up, my father's Navy career caused our family to move every 0.5-2.5 years. Since transition was my constant, I developed unique insight into the complex intersection and paradox of excitement, anxiety, fear, resistance, confidence, insecurity, love, and hate that can all be felt simultaneously during times of major change. This is why I love working with college students and helping them to navigate experiences such as: being away from home and re-configuring family relationships; exploring new friendships and romantic relationships; discovering their life path(s); learning a larger variety of ways to cope, communicate, and relate to themselves and the world; and diving more deeply into issues related to identity (e.g. sexuality, gender, higher consciousness, vocation, etc.). I tailor my approach with each of my clients, but primarily utilize mindfulness, experiential activities, and somatic techniques (i.e. deepening the relationship and communication between your mind and body).
I can help you manage uneasy emotions by providing a safe, confidential space to explore your feelings without being judged. You will be given tools to manage your anxiety and depressive symptoms that can transform the way you move forward in life.

College can be an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming. Between classes, relationships, friendships, family expectations, work, and figuring out who you are, it's easy to feel like you're supposed to have everything figured out when you're still trying to find your footing. I'm Grace, and I'm a therapist who works with young adults navigating anxiety, self-doubt, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, identity, and the pressure to "have it all together". My approach is warm, collaborative, and judgement-free. Therapy isn't about telling you what you SHOULD do. It's a space where you can slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and build a life that actually feels like yours. Whether you're struggling to manage the demands of college, feeling disconnected from yourself, navigating a difficult relationship, or simply feel like something is "off", you don't have to figure it out alone. We can work together to understand what's underneath the stress, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and help you feel more confident moving forward. I offer a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. Feel free to email me to set one up. I can't wait to meet you!
