Brian Post
Are you in emotional pain? Do you feel stuck? Has it been awhile since you felt like yourself? Do you feel disconnected from others and perhaps even yourself? Are you in need of support as you navigate a challenging life circumstance? If so, we should talk. I specialize in helping young adults figure out why they feel the way they do and what needs to change to live a more authentic, connected, and meaningful life. For 14 years I have worked alongside diverse undergraduate and graduate students at university mental health clinics, and I would be honored to work with you.
I will help you to slow down and lean into your full range of emotions, especially the uncomfortable ones you are so good at avoiding. Together we will examine ways your past is connected to your present, identify problematic relationship patterns, and figure out how you want to start applying these insights to your life.
This style of therapy goes beyond symptom reduction and heals underlying problems in a way that leads to long-lasting change. It is often an intense and challenging process, but I will be there to support and guide you as we explore the terrain of your inner life. And rest assured, there will be plenty of moments of lightness and laughter along the way!
I work especially well with clients who are motivated to improve their relationships with themselves and others. In addition to providing individual psychotherapy I have a passion for offering interpersonal process groups. In these groups 6-8 people come together on a weekly basis to support and challenge one another. I am a Certified Group Psychotherapist and over my career I have led over 60 of these groups. Many clients have found that group therapy was able to accelerate their healing and growth in a way that individual therapy alone did not.
Clients of all identities and backgrounds are welcome in my practice.
